This property was great and we hope to stay there again in the future!
Shipwatch was a cozy retreat for my 3 friends and I. The house was far enough from the road and away from other structures so it feels private and wooded. We made meals in the kitchen, sat along side the lake and outside near the fire pit. What a gorgeous spot of Michigan! We loved it and will come back again and again!
The location is fantastic!! The scenery is beautiful!!! The cabin is exactly as advertised and more! Lots o’ little touches that make you feel relaxed and at home.? And definitely the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO we’ve stayed at! Definitely be back next year!!!!?
My husband, two young kids and I had a great time staying at the Shipwatch Cottage! Kellye was a great host, answered any questions we had and gave us fun ideas of things to do in the area. The house was very clean and comfortable. Overall we had a great time.
I absolutely adored this cottage. I was looking for a place to rest and recharge and boy was this it!! The cottage has everything you need and I especially appreciated the hosts attention to detail. The art and whimsy was also lovely. My memories of sitting in the white chairs on the bluff watching the sunset and butterflies will stay with me forever. Amazing place.
Best time to stay there is mid October. Perfect weather and wonderful owner who made it a perfect vacation.
My family of 4 so enjoyed our stay at Shipwatch! We spent our days at Duck Lake Beach (5 minute drive), Pere Marquette Beach (30 minute drive), and Muskegon State Park Beach (10 minute drive) and enjoyed sunsets, s'mores, and board games in the evenings back at the house! Groceries, etc are about 15-20 minutes away in Muskegon. From the moment we booked and received a great list of recommendations for the area from Kellye, to her texts just checking in during our stay, communication was open, friendly, and kind. We would definitely stay here again!
The host went above and beyond in providing a welcoming environment and so many options for area activities. The house was clean and well maintained and stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning walks down the short driveway to the lake where we could sit and relax. While the beach is not accessible from the property, there are so many options within a short radius. I would highly recommend this property and host. Fair warning - have your directions available in a screenshot or printed version. There is no mobile reception for a short area around the house. The house has wi-fi and I was able to work from it and transferred all calls to wi-fi while there. Before leaving, we would open Waze and screenshot directions - just in case the signal was lost. We had no issues using this workaround. 5 out of 5 stars for the host, location, and house.
The cottage was wonderful: well appointed, clean, comfortable, with full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms (we only used one), and full bath. Tall, tall trees outside, and so quiet. Owner was gracious and accommodating, and could not have been nicer.
Small but nice place with thoughtful hosts. It's a guest house down the driveway from a main house. There's a great view of the lake if you walk past the main house (though no access down to the beach/water). We appreciated the s'mores fixings that were provided and the swingset for the kids.
This was the easiest rental I have been a part of. The owner was fantastic & great to work with. Cottage was clean & stocked with essentials. Beaches are a few miles away. Great town, great atmosphere, great food at Russ’s and amazing views of the sunset. We will be back again!
This is a beautiful property with stunning lake views! Kellye was wonderful to work with and attentive to our needs especially when we wanted to stay an extra day! It's close to Duck Lake Beach and had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets! A perfect place to stay!!
Kelly was an amazing host! From communication ahead of time to shipping our phone back to us that we accidentally left there. The cabin is super cute and well stocked. We had a great time relaxing at the lake and exploring the area. We'll definitely be back!
Cabin was clean, cozy, and stocked with supplies, including wood kindling needed for a bonfire. Beautiful lookout for sunsets right on the water and close to multiple beaches, the state park, and Muskegon. Kellye easy to get in touch with and overall a great host. Would stay here again!
