Stayed Dec 31, 1969A very nicely presented country cottage in a stunning location. Plenty of local attractions to visit although we spent a lot of our week at the cottage. Views are spectacular and the gardens with duck pond an absolute treat. A meal at the Thyme restaurant is a must. Can't wait to go back. EB Prestwick

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A LUXURIOUS RETREAT Eggers London Review Submitted: November 1, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010 First of all let me start by saying do not let the idea of a semi-detached holiday home put any prospective holiday visitor off! This is a beautifully expansive and luxurious home furnished with taste, generosity, and above all else, practicality. Apart from being spacious and light the views from every window were truly magnificent. The large, north facing windows framed a series of dramatic, snow-capped mountains. The owners whilst being friendly and helpful were unobtrusive and polite and very efficient to respond to any query. The location of this lovely home (and it is more a home than a holiday home) is just perfect for any couples and/or large familes wishing to escape from it all. Whilst being only 2 miles from Aberfeldy, there is plenty of activities conveniently to hand. Aberfeldy and Dunkeld offer restaurants, places of interest and dramatic riverside views. The scenery around Glen Lyon is highly recommended and not too far away. In just one week our activities included hill-walking up two Munros; attending and hosting dinner parties with local friends (Scottish hospitality at its best); dining out and visiting the Birnam Institute for a comedy gig. From this charming home any visitior can do as little or as much as they wish and feel completely refreshed and recharged at the end of their stay. Highly recommended. The photos of Croit na Greine simply cannot measure up to the beauty of this farm house. Stayed Dec 31, 1969Very comfortable and well appointed cottage in a superb location. Good views over the Tay Valley. Though set in a rural location only two miles from Aberfeldy and handy for shops and ameneties. Intend to return again in the summer.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Garden Cottage is such a homely abode, but abode does not go anyway towards describing how wonderfully featured and equipped this cottage really is. From the moment of arrival to be greeted by Becky (The nicest southerner north of the border :-) ) to tasting the hot freshly baked loaf of bread she kindly left for us. Becky made our stay effortless, enjoyable, comfortable and most of all wanting to return for further stays. The scenery all around is spectacular, the local grounds of the cottage are pleasing and worth walking in and sitting in if given chance. Aberfeldy is a healthy walk down hill, just remember that its up hill on the way back. The Schiehallion Public House is very welcoming and very reasonably priced. The biggest supermarket in town is a really well stocked Co-operative. We spent a whole day driving down and back the other side of Loch Tay (14 miles x 1.5 miles) lots of narrow roads with small passing places packed with cycling tourists and local traffic and the odd tractor or two. The Ardonaig Hotel is a great place to stop for a coffee or tea on the way. We can highly recommend the Kenmore Hotel (built in 1572) for inexpensive (£30 for a 3 Course Meal) quality meals with excellent service and beautiful scenery. Returning late afternoon or early / late evening to Garden Cottage allowed us to relax in front of the Satellite Television before getting ready to go out for the night. I could go on and on about how enjoyable our stay was but you would probably get bored reading such a lenghty review. All in all Becky and Garden Cottage followed by the excellent Scottish weather made out stay one worth revisiting time and time again, Thank You Becky and Family. Mark.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Think of some of the best Scottish Picture Post Card Views you have ever seen, well you get them from the windows of this cottage. Fantastic views over the hillside farms around Aberfeldy. As soon as you drive through the gate the stress just lifts, sheep, pony’s and ducks are a welcome sight to the weary traveller. This is an ideal location for walking, cycling, sight seeing etc. The cottage is very well described, it has a wood burning stove for the colder winter time, central heating also for that cosy feeling when you come back to relax. The Master Bedroom is something else with the super king bed, the whole cottage is sufficiently spacious for the whole family to amble around. Then there is the outside, what views. Becky is great, she makes you feel so welcome and nothing is trouble to her, and she offers good advice as to where to dine out for all different kinds of foods. The Hotel in Kenmore was nice when we went if you are looking for a quality meal. Aberfeldy town has plenty of supermarkets, Spar, Coop etc. and much more; it also has three banks including Lloyds TSB. We enjoyed our short stay so much we are about to book the same week for next year.
