Seductive cottage with spa

The lake is beautiful and the area around the lake/dock was nice, however the cottage itself was not clean, the outdoor area is neglected and hasn’t been cleaned in months. There is green moss all over the railing and the floor boards and a thick yellowish film on the glass pannels on the railing. The bbq is so damaged that there is no metal bottom under the grill therefore the grease from cooking is falling directly on the propane tank creating a fire hazard on top of the railing behind the bbq that has melted due to the improper bbq. The bbq itself is so dirty and there are empty propane tanks that are damaged from the falling grill debris just left around. The bed in the small room is beyond repair, it squeaks, the mattress is bowed from the springs that are so worn. There are pine needles and tree fallings everywhere and have not been swept since last year. The screen on the patio door cannot be moved therefore not closed, this is something I noticed in a review from last year. Garbage bags were left on the ground from the previous guests and animals went through them so there was garbage everywhere. We sent a message to the owner but never received a response, the garbage was left that way during our whole stay of 5 days and this just shows the over all neglect of this property. It needs a thorough cleaning and refreshment, the cottage itself doesn’t smell clean upon entering. The cottage has a lot of potential but it is severely neglected. Why charge a cleaning fee?

We rented this cottage for a getaway work weekend and it was perfect for our needs! The hosts are lovely, available and keen to make your stay the best possible. The cottage was spacious for six of us, well appointed, clean and cozy. After lots of preparation that we might be chilly, we found that there were lots of heating options including a cozy fireplace. Access to the hottub and the lake were charming, even in the winter time. Thanks for such a great weekend.

Great location and stunning lake views.

My family had a great time at this cottage, the view from the deck was stunning and the waterfront was perfect for our two young kids (shallow and sandy, however I would recommend water shoes). The cottage itself was rustic yet charming, with plenty of great views of the lake. We were comfortable throughout our stay and the host responded to our questions promptly.

Charming cottage with beautiful views. Three generations of my family, and two dogs, enjoyed a wonderful 6 night stay.

We could not have picked a better week to head off to cottageland. And did we ever pick a great cottage to stay out of the blizzering heat. The private beach and dock were well used during the week - even our toddler could walk in the water along the shore! We also lucked out by being there when a spanking new state-of-the-art bbcue arrived!

I stayed here while working in the Ottawa area. Nice and secluded. Clean property on a beautiful lake. The bbq works great and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would stay here again

Its a nice property inside and out. Hot tub worked well. The only downside is that the owners accused me of scratching their new table and withheld my security deposit. I dont think I did scratch the table.

This is certainly a 5 star property with 5 star hosts. Our stay was exactly what we had hoped for and the hosts made sure everything went well. This one is on our happy to stay again list.

Hello, We did enjoy our 2 night stay. Suggest more drying/towel racks for use. The grounds needed to be cleaned up and washed. Black mold was on stair railings. The inside was comfortable.

Loved everything about this place, amenities and location and accuracy of photos! Wish the stay could have been longer!

Pluses: large nice master bedroom and bathroom. New stairway down to small beach. Great history - original cottage 1943, with additions.Minuses: outside is pretty rustic, with a very old deck with bouncing boards that are failing in some places, with some missing side rails. Would not come with small children.

Very nice, property was clean, great location as it was about an hour away from west end of Ottawa, and host was very responsive.

Great location; close to the city and very close to the shop and other amenities at val-des-monts. We enjoyed the dock area and the lovely deck where we ate our meals. The cottage is well-equipped and comes with a canoe, SUP and kayak which makes paddling on this huge lake lots of fun. The hosts were very quick to respond to our questions.

Was a great place for family getaway with young kids under 7. As advertised, the watercrafts (stand up paddleboard, canoe, kayak) and hot tub were a hit. The a/c was key to escape the humidity and heat. Owner confirmed new stairs to the lake was installed prior to booking and we're critical for younger kids. Would recommend staying here to others.

This was a wonderful cottage. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. Many private areas to settle in to read or to look at the beautiful natural setting. Wonderful family areas to enjoy meals and activities. It was a wonderful setting, both indoors and outdoors.The cottage had everything you’d need. It was peaceful, the view was wonderful. We loved this property cause it enabled us to do the watersport we enjoy

Great place to spend a few days with friends. The house was clean, the communication was very easy. I wouldnt recommend this location for families with kids as the stairs to the beach was broken, hopefully it can be repaired soon. The cottage is very close to a grocery shop in case you forgot anything. Very close to Ottawa which is a big plus.
