Secluded getaway on Lake Catherine, minutes from town - birds, fishing, & kayaks

Great place to relax and get away from the city. The host was great, fast and clear communication from the start. Getting to canoe on the lake was a huge bonus.

Bob and Jan were great hosts! The place was perfect for a little secluded getaway. The cottage was clean and perfect for two with all sorts of card games, dock access with canoes or paddle boat, grills, and a fire pit. Would recommend staying here!

Bob and Jan were absolutely incredible! Loved the cabin and the views straight from walking in the door. Great area to enjoy some piece and quiet and see little fishes. Beautiful scenery! My fiancé and I asked to do our engagement photos on the provided canoe and they allowed us and even got it ready and put in the water. All the small details were incredible. Super sweet hostesses and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful property perfect for quiet restful getaway for two. Close enough to Hot Springs to offer restaurants and interesting historical sights or hiking and trails at Lake Catherine State Park. Also a visit to Garvan Woodland Gardens is a treat!

Absolutely delightful property for a relaxing stay. The pictures do not fully convey how beautiful and we kept the place is. This is perfect for a couple or small group who wants privacy and natural beauty. The host is excellent with communication and very thoughtful with everything supplied in the house. Would definitely visit again!

The hosts were so kind and hospitable. Everything was thought of for our comfort! It was very clean, comfortable bed, and peaceful surroundings. We highly recommend you book here. It’s close to everything. My husband really enjoyed fishing at the Lake here and we both enjoyed the kayaks.

The Cabin was perfect for the two of us. Mrs Jan had everything you needed and was very easy to communicate with. Beautiful view of Lake Catherine even with the low water level. Everything was in close proximity about 15 minute drive to everything around town.

Kitchen was fully equipped including first morning breakfast (such a thoughtful touch). Bed was super comfy. Views were amazing. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay.

Mr. Bob and Mrs. Jan were the sweetest and very accommodating. The cottage was beautiful and more than we could have ever expected. Very relaxing, quiet and beautiful. So many unique things around the cottage. The scenery was beautiful. So much wildlife...snow geese...multiple types of birds...ducks...deer...squirrels...even chipmunks. The cottage was exquisite and had everything needed for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be booking this cottage in the future. Definitely a 10. Highly recommended .

Beautiful property, quiet, everything in cottage supplied i.e coffee, water, kitchen stuff, bathroom toiletries. Fire pit was ready to go but we didn’t get the chance to use. Close to all we wanted to do in Hot Springs. Janet and Bob were excellent hosts. Bed was comfortable. We wanted a quiet place with an excellent lake view and this was perfect!!

Loved everything

We enjoyed sitting out looking at the beautiful view from the swing. It was a special touch to have food available for us when we got there. Everything was nice and clean and the host was friendly. We would definitely stay again.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this lakeside cottage, it's location, and Bob and Jan!! A hidden gem, and we will for sure book again!!

Bob and Jan are incredibly accommodating and kind, we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay. We've stayed in other lakeside homes in the neighborhood, but this one is truly in nature and secluded, and it has the most breathtaking views from both upstairs and downstairs. You are literally 13-15 minutes away from anything you could need or want, which made the trip extremely convenient. We read the guest book and left a few recommendations listed in their as well.

Beautiful property with a stunning lake view in a good location! Janet and Bob are the sweetest. Kitchen was stocked well and breakfast was provided for the first day. Abundance of wildlife can be seen just sitting outside relaxing in the evening. Definitely will be back.

Lots of little extras by the host made our stay extra relaxing. Quiet, well-stocked, comfortable place. Watch out for chiggars.Highly recommend!!

Amazing cottage with great location. We will be back next time. Lake views and lake fun were lagniappe, but the house and grounds itself were well worth the price.

This was one of the best vacation stays we’ve experienced. The location, the cabin, the lake, the fire pit: everything was perfect!

Everything about my stay was delightful. The cottage was wonderfully decorated, immaculately clean, and well provisioned with bathroom and kitchen supplies - even food for my first breakfast! I think my favorite feature was the porch swing in front of the firepit, which overlooked the calm beauty of the lake. I cannot recommend this rental highly enough!

We can't say enough about this place. Janet and Bob were incredibly friendly and the cabin was by far the cleanest we've ever stayed in. We had everything we needed, and they also left us enough food for breakfast. The private dock was relaxing, the sunsets on the water are beautiful, and the views out of the top floor were amazing. My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary with a get away to Jan and Bob's cottage on the lake. It was just as pictured with a beautiful view of Lake Catherine. The Lake had been drained for the winter but it was still enough to have a beautiful view and we were able to enjoy the ducks and other animals out on the lake. When I had any questions, Jan immediately responded. We had everything we needed at the cottage and it like a home away from home.

This house is beautiful. Its my second year staying here and I hope to keep going every year I can! The views of the lake and wildlife almost make you want to just stay at home the whole time! Its very close to all the activities you would want to do in hot springs as well. The owners are very quick to respond of you have any qieations. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We love spending time at Blue Heron and make time for an annual visit. It’s the perfect respite for us. Secluded, yet close to town, as well as attractions. The cabin and fire pit area which overlook the lake are both very picturesque and relaxing. We enjoy viewing the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, geese in the evenings, and deer across the lake in the morning. Bob and Jan are the perfect hosts. They meticulously care for their cabin and do their best to ensure you have a most pleasant stay.

This was a beautiful anniversary weekend getaway. The cabin was very clean, away from town but close enough you didn't have to travel far if you needed something. We fished, seen deer and other wildlife, used the paddleboat. Highly recommend this destination to anyone.
