Seeking an escape to wide open spaces, miles upon miles of crops, red dirt/sand Then country life is calling your name. Quiet cottage tucked in the middle of 250 acres of rich Georgia farmland nestled in a wooded pasture. Come enjoy the peacefulness of the country, with fields and pasture all around you as far as the eye can see. Gorgeous night skies for star gazing and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and snuggling. Watch the leaves change colors in the fall with peanuts, cotton, cornand pecans being harvested all around you (late September through late November). Cuddle up under the covers, or soak in the hot tub on those chilly winter mornings. Spring rain showers come and go quickly to green up the land. Crops get planted in March/April and you’ll smell a mix of fresh earth and rain drops. During summer months there is sunshine for miles, and lots of sandy areas on the property to catch some rays and put your toes in the sand. You don't have to go to the beach to get a tan. You’ll also find some of the prettiest sunsets here, so be sure to snap a few pictures and send them back to your friends and family.

Enjoy the seasonal water trough soaking pool May-September as you cool off and listen to the purple martens squawk from their gourds. Soaking pool (300 gallons/2.5 feet deep) contains treated water and is warmed by the sun. Great place to soak your cares away while you enjoy your favorite brew or glass of wine. Seats 3-4 adults comfortably and doubles as a splash pool for children.

The Cottage sits on a small pond next to a Hunting Cabin (also available to rent) in the middle of a pasture where cows pass by regularly to investigate and say hello. The area is fenced (barbed wire and electric) on all sides but may not be barrier proof for all pets or children. A creek runs behind the rental and you can see tiny minnows swimming and catch frogs/toads galore. The wildlife will sing you to sleep, and the cows will meander around the back side of the Cottage to say hello or show off their new calf throughout your stay.

You've found the perfect place to escape to for peace, and to disconnect. There are plenty of places to explore on the property and natural springs all around. Feed the turtles or minnows in the shallow pond and creek, see fox squirrels, deer, foxes, armadillos, catch tree frogs, and hear the coyotes howl at night. There is even a bob cat that passes through the area regularly. Take a walk down the dirt/sandy field roads and collect arrow heads. Forage through the pasture, or along the fence line and find blackberry bushes, mulberry trees, mushrooms of all varieties, wild strawberries, citrons, honeysuckle, persimmon and pecan trees.

Great area for off roading and miles of dirt roads to ride down and explore. The Cottage is accessed by a private dirt field road that may get bumpy and muddy depending on time of year. Although normal cars can typically handle the terrain, please note that 4WD or AWD vehicles may be better suited to the access road and area. Feel free to bring your atv or dirt bike for some adventure. Field roads are also perfect for riding on bicycles or horseback.

During summer months there is a cold natural spring swimming hole about 13 miles away (Mock Spring), or visit the State Park at Lake Blackshear for fishing, boat rentals, and on the water dining 15 miles away. Ellis Brother's Pecans tourist spot is ~2 miles up the road with nut samples and all sorts of goodies. Lawn games like corn hole and croquet available upon request, or relax in the spa/hot tub as you sip some local muscadine wine and watch the sun set.

Amazing off the grid stay. If you’re looking to disconnect, this is it. We were there a short time, but the time was totally worth it. We loved that the host was willing to give us a tour of the farm and learn about the history and their “why”. Yes, there are bugs…you are on a farm, but overall the house is perfect! Well maintained on the inside. We opted to stay at the house and cook our own food vs going out. We brought our own water and pots/pans, just because we didn’t know what was there. There was a lot already there, but if you’re particular, bring what you feel you “need” to have. The host is extremely responsive too, so you can always just ask what’s there before you come if don’t want to bring a bunch!! We would go back 100%!!!!

Simply the best we have stayed at!!! Loved the cows and fresh air greeting us every morning and the small touches the owner made- local pecan coffee, pancakes and fresh farm eggs. Owner was so responsive and it felt like home the entire time.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay—it was the perfect weekend getaway! The cottage sits right between cotton fields and cattle pastures, offering peaceful views all around. The hot tub in the back and soaking tub on the side made it even more relaxing. Our host truly thought of everything. We were welcomed with locally made pecan coffee, pancake mix, syrup, and fresh eggs from their chickens, which was such a thoughtful touch. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the bathroom even had toiletries in case we forgot anything. We also enjoyed reading the history of the property and loved the guided farm tour—it was such a unique experience for our family. We will absolutely be returning!

We were traveling to Florida and decided to spend a few days seeing Andersonville and a few other places on the way. We were traveling with our Golden Retriever and thought this looked like a good option. We were very happy with our stay. There were lots of little extras that made it more enjoyable. The location was close enough to things we wanted to see and places to eat. We liked the peaceful setting to relax and unwind. Overall, our stay was exactly what we were looking for.

Our host hospitality was beyond exceptional! The unexpected details were a nice surprise. We enjoyed going over to Cordele to the Sam short line and enjoyed the serenity of our country landscape. All the comforts of home plus some. Highly recommend this location.
