Vienna, Georgia
The wide open spaces of the country are calling your name. Quiet cottage tucked in the middle of 250 acres of rich Georgia farmland nestled in a wooded pasture. Come enjoy the peacefulness of the country, with fields and pasture all around you as far as the eye can see. Gorgeous night skies for star gazing and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and snuggling. Watch the leaves change colors in the fall with peanuts, cotton, corn and pecans being harvested (late September through late November). Cuddle up under the covers, or soak in the hot tub on those chilly winter mornings. Spring rain showers come and go quickly to green up the land. Crops get planted in March/April and you’ll smell a mix of fresh earth and rain drops. During summer months there is sunshine for miles, and lots of sandy areas on the property to catch some rays and put your toes in the sand. You don't have to go to the beach to get a tan. You’ll also find some of the prettiest sunsets here.
Enjoy the seasonal water trough soaking pool May-September as you cool off and listen to the purple martens squawk from their gourds. Soaking pool (300 gallons/2.5 feet deep) contains treated water and is warmed by the sun. Great place to soak your cares away while you enjoy your favorite brew or glass of wine. Seats 3-4 adults comfortably and doubles as a splash pool for children.
The Cottage sits on a small pond next to a Hunting Cabin (also available to rent) in the middle of a pasture where cows pass by regularly to investigate and say hello. The area is fenced (barbed wire and electric) on all sides but may not be barrier proof for all pets or children. A creek runs behind the rental and you can see tiny minnows swimming and catch frogs/toads galore. The wildlife will sing you to sleep.
Great space to escape to for peace, and to disconnect. Plenty of places to explore on the property and natural springs all around. Feed the turtles or minnows in the pond and creek, see fox squirrels, deer, foxes, armadillos, catch tree frogs, and hear the coyotes howl at night. There is even a bob cat that passes through the area regularly. Take a walk down the dirt/sandy field roads and collect arrow heads. Forage through the pasture, or along the fence line and find blackberry bushes, mulberry trees, mushrooms of all varieties, wild strawberries, citrons, honeysuckle, persimmon and pecan trees.
Great area for off roading and miles of dirt roads to ride down and explore. Bring your atv or dirt bike for some adventure or rent one from the farm. Field roads are also perfect for riding on bicycles or horseback. There is a cold natural spring swimming hole about 13 miles away (Mock Spring), or visit the State Park at Lake Blackshear for fishing, boat rentals, and on the water dining 15 miles away. Ellis Brother's Pecans tourist spot is ~2 miles up the road with nut samples and all sorts of goodies. Lawn games like corn hole and croquet available upon request, or relax in the spa/hot tub as you sip some local muscadine wine and watch the sun set.

A lovely secluded location we will revisit.
Everything was perfect clean just was looking for
The only issue we had was after several attempts to get the Wifi password the owner never provided us.
The cottage is exactly as the host describes with added charm. It’s really tucked away in the pastures of the working farm where cotton had just been harvested before our arrival. We searched for a secluded place just like this for 2 adults with 2 big dogs where we would not bother anyone and vise versa & this cottage was perfect with enough room for another couple and another dog! We had plenty of bathroom toiletries, towels, bedding, kitchen necessities and even a ‘welcome gift’ from the hostess. Thank you for your hospitality! We will certainly return if ever traveling rural southern Georgia again!
Beautiful country cottage located on a working farm. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the cotton being harvested and the cows and calves passing thru each morning. Amber was very responsive to our cry for help with the TV. Turns out to be user error ?. Would gladly stay again if we are up this way.
We really enjoyed our stay at this Cottage. It is located on a beautiful farm. The cottage is very nice and it has a hot tub. We enjoyed spending time with our two dogs. They loved playing and taking walks. The host was always very helpful if we had any questions. We will definitely return for a stay on the farm!!!
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The house was warm and welcoming. Easy check in. I am looking for a reason to be able yo go stay again. Highly recommended
This is our 2nd stay at this cute, private and serene location. It’s so peaceful to walk the property and just getaway from everything. Amber was more than responsive and we appreciated her suggestions for nearby places to eat. We will be back again as this place allows you to disconnect and just enjoy time together.
Great offering with terrific hosts. Immaculate cottage - great for relaxation - will be back - I give highest rating to entire experience
The cottage is amazing with size and decor. Everything thing you needed was at hand. The amenities are true Southern hospitality! The Ellis cookies are delicious and purchased more before going home. The location is central to our family outings. Wonderful!! Recommend!! We are planning a Christmas gathering this year and hope to rent the cabin and cottage for our extended family. Thank you for sharing your family farm with our family.
This place was wonderful. Very clean. Lits of space and things to do. Very well stocked. Loved waking up to the sunrise over cotton fields with cows in back yard. Wish we jad more time there.
Remote and quiet! Very nice place and friendly host… thanks !!
Clean and comfortable stay.
My family, dogs, and I had the pleasure of staying there for a few days and have nothing negative to say. The house was in tip top shape and the grounds offered the kind of peace and tranquility that only a heard of mooing and curious cows could bring. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
Secluded, quite and peaceful with 250 acres of fields and cows for neighbors. Many historical sights within easy driving distance. Convenient access, clean and very comfortable. If you need to get away from stress, you will definitely love this location. Thank you Amber, you were so helpful about everything.
Loved the property, owner was awesome to work with. This place will reach you how to relax. We loved it, wish we could have stayed longer!
So accommodating. So beautiful. So many cows. Two thumbs up, and will probably be back with some friends.
When we drove up we knew this was going to be perfect. The farm had cows that you could walk up and chat with, lots of space to walk or jog. The cottage was very inviting and the host was very hospitable. Will be back this year for sure.
The hosts and property are amazing. We took advantage of the atv rentals, jacuzzi, feeding the cows and exploring the farm. The cabin is beautiful, beds are comfortable and the host even informed us when there was a meteor shower so we could watch from the peanut field. I would stay again, and give the highest of recommendation to visit Howard Farm.
Usually not one to write reviews; but this property and owner deserve more than a five star review. What a blessing. We found a place for our family to come to for just about any occasion. This land feels special! We were escaping Florida from hurricane Ian and booked this cabin. I called the owner and asked if we could check in a little early on the day of our arrival. Told them our situation and they told us we could check in now as soon as we got to Georgia a day early free of charge. Wasn’t sure about our property in Florida after the storm and if we had power or not. Again they said we could stay another night extra no problem. They have an amazing property, amazing cabin, and amazing hearts! Would highly recommend and we are already on the process of booking another stay! Cheers!!!!
The pictures do not give this property the justice it deserves! The beauty of the land, the cleanliness of the home, the availability of the owner far exceeded our expectations. I had to reach out to the owner and I received an answer immediately. We felt very welcome and can not wait to return.
Our crowd of 4 adults and a dog were very comfortable in our accommodations. We did not do a lot of cooking, and were pleasantly surprised to find ample coffee in the cupboard. It was lovely, and the host was very communicative and responsive.
Very quiet and relaxing.
This home was exactly what we were looking for. It is located in the middle of a field and away from everything. The bed was very comfortable. Had a very relaxing weekend and will definitely return here in the future. May want to bring ear plug though, the tree frogs can be a little loud at night. Anyone who stays here has to visit Ellis Brothers Pecans, it is amazing if you like pecans.
