Stayed Feb 28, 2025Charming historical building. Enjoyed the quiet and feeding the horses. No complaints. The shower/bathroom layout is unorthodox and doesn't leave much privacy. A lock on the bathroom door would be nice. Wasn't a problem for us, we loved the place, just something to be aware of.

Stayed Sep 20, 2024My best friend & I booked the 2 bdrm Country Cottage. We had tickets to an event at Floore's Country Store (some pretty big country artists play there). Home is about 6 miles from Old Town Helotes. We were even able to get a Uber to/from the concert. The home as described-Older home on a ranch type property with a couple of other cottages. We only saw two workers the 3 days we were there. It is out in the country-accessed via a short gravel driveway. LOTS of trees, beautiful plants & the wildlife that comes with it. No bugs at all in the house but we saw beautiful butterflies, interesting grasshoppers, and a moth the size of a small bird! lol! Loved the blend of modern and rustic. It is obvious renovations have been done and well thought out. The bathroom is really neat. 2 large bdrms. Open living area with a comfy couch. We didn't use the kitchen really but saw lots of appliances and utensils. Needs a new coffee pot or Keurig The porch & outdoor spaces would be ideal in the fall. We are no strangers to well and septic systems, so the sulphur smell wasn't a surprise (but could be for some). Plenty of filtered water was provided though! Cleaning crew missed a few things but the host took care of it and even issued a partial refund! San Antonio Riverwalk-30 min drive, Canterra shopping center-less than 15. Old Town is cute but not much to do there - plenty of restaurant options and activities in any direction. Would go again!

Stayed Jul 26, 2024This is a beautifully restored home. The restoration kept the character of the charming home. The only thing better than the home was the host! She went far and above to make our stay extra special. We sincerely appreciate the extra assistance in making our family trip extra special. My grands, my brother and my dog loved it!! Thank you!

Stayed Jun 21, 2024What an amazing and peaceful time we all had. We have 2 Frenchies and our male had a blast looking out the windows searching for all he could see. There are GAMES, puzzles and books galore to read, many birds to see due to all the trees and even horses that we fed. You can almost feel a part of the family after reading the history. Linda, our host, was ever so friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed Apr 5, 2024Very nice place and away from the busy San Antonio proper. Close enough that we were able to do all the tourist stuff, missions, Alamo, Riverwalk, and visit with friends. We even got to observe the eclipse during our stay.

Stayed Mar 6, 2024My husband and I were used to going to San Antonio in our younger years, before we knew each other. On this trip, We took each other around, but our favorite thing to do was just relax at this amazing house/land. I did not want to leave. Great for our dog, too!

Stayed Dec 28, 2023There are several cottage homes on this ranch property, and they are very charming and historic. The house was very spacious with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, with plenty of common areas. It had all the amenities we needed including a fenced in backyard for the dogs and washer dryer in a nearby shed. The horses were super friendly and came to greet us at the fence each day when we went to say hello. This is such a wonderful property and great for family reunions in the big house and maybe even booking the other two cottages. The only area for improvement is that the well water is pretty hard / mineral-heavy, so the dishwasher struggled to get the dishes sparkling clean and our skin was pretty dry too. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we'd visit again if the chance presents itself.

Stayed Oct 13, 2023This a hidden gem. It’s not far from the loop in San Antonio but secluded among old live oaks and a families historic home. Loved reading the family history and viewing the pictures of the past.
