Stayed Apr 8, 2026The Sunrise Cottage, and indeed the entire Pu'u o Hoku Ranch is a hidden gem. We may be biased since we held our wedding celebration here back in 2016, but to return ten years later and find it even more lovely was a delight. Molokai isn't for everyone, but to those drawn to it a wonderful adventure awaits. We'll return as often as they'll have us. Mahalo to all those who made our stay so wonderful.

Stayed Oct 31, 2025Very kind and gracious staff at the Ranch. We had the weekend all to ourselves in the cottage. Enjoyed gourmet Chef pre-made meals, hiked every trail and loved the solitude. Highly recommend!

Stayed Sep 1, 2025From the moment we booked, Nani had our back, answering every question with patience and making sure we were completely taken care of.We came out for a hunt, and that’s where the magic really kicked in. Josiah and Baeo were outstanding guides. Professional, knowledgeable, and funny enough to keep us laughing even while hiking through the brush. They turned the experience into more than just a hunt, it felt like an adventure with old friends.Between the stunning views, the peaceful gardens, and the nonstop good vibes, this place is something special. We already know one thing for sure: we’ll be back for round two.

Stayed Aug 20, 2025Absolutely top notch property. Exceptional Art & furnishings. The horseback tour was excellent with Buszy & Kaweki with a nice waterfall view from an excellent horse instructor Sarah. The hospitality crew of Nani & Lauren keep us informed from the booking and was able to accommodate our plant based diet. The views of the sacred kukui forest to the vast ocean views and the amazing sunrises. We will be back 100.

Stayed May 20, 2025We had a lovely time relaxing in and around the property. It wasn’t at all inconvenient to explore Molokai from the ranch and we loved the winding road along the coast. The rustic elegance of the Sunrise Cottage was perfect and the addition of fresh vegetables, ground venison, and ripe bananas made the cottage feel just like home. It was a beautiful relaxing stay for us. Mahalo for your hospitality.

Stayed Feb 24, 2025My wife and i spent 4 nights/5 days here and absolutely loved it. Hit a local grocery store on the way in and you really never need to leave this wonderful little bungalow, other than to pick up some dried apple bananas and other snacks at the nearby ranch store. Everyone was incredibly friendly and we had 4 of the most incredible sunrises! Take a nice book or two and some hiking shoes and escape the rat race with this beautiful slice of old Hawaii! Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed Feb 12, 2025It's the perfect place to get away for some pleasant cabin weather for books, board games, and yard games with the family. Our daughters (6 & 7) had a great time with the garden tour and horseback riding, and Halawa beach is a short drive away.

Stayed Feb 17, 2025Truly a wonderful holiday destination. The ranch is the best place to stay on Molokai and we cannot recommend Sunrise Cottage on Pu'u O Hoku Ranch highly enough. Nani was so kind from the initial email in January. We arrived at a clean, beautifully appointed cabin filled with locally grown floral arrangements and a refrigerator supplied with a bag of produce grown on the ranch, eggs (the best we have ever eaten!) from the ranch, beef from cattle at the ranch and fruit grown on the ranch. What a delicious treat and we did our best to eat it all and had to get more eggs. Beds super comfortable, great walking trails all around the ranch. Cannot recommend enough the garden tour with Ahiku, horseback riding with Sarah, the store employees Nadia and Cathy, and everyone we encountered at the ranch -- just awesome people, proud of their job, the ranch and their island. We just loved our stay and hope to return.

Stayed Nov 7, 2024My family had been looking forward to this trip for over a year, and I was prepared for something much more rustic but the cottage was wonderfully modern with recently renovated bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and even super-fast WiFi. Even when it was raining hard outside, we felt safe and cozy indoors and it was nice to have almost the whole property to ourselves since no one was in the lodge at the time. Nani was so sweet and wonderful and I was glad we got to meet her in person.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the sunrise cottage. We appreciated our host stocking the kitchen with fresh fruit, veggies, eggs and meat from the ranch as our flight got in late and we didn’t have time to grocery shop. We enjoyed a hike right from the cottage up into the hills.

Stayed Sep 10, 2024We loved everything about our stay. Nani was super helpful, ensuring everything was nothing less than perfect. It really was like stepping back in time. The cottage is beautiful and comfortable, the ranch grounds gorgeous and mystical, the produce and meat from the ranch store fresh and delicious. One of those trips that stays with you, a memory in which the mind can wander and take refuge.

Stayed Aug 9, 2024Rising early at the Sunrise House, I was gifted with an amazing greeting from a Hawaiian Pueo (Owl) that flew up from the canyon below, back lit by the rising sun, and then flew over the house. There is something magical about this place - the gentle breeze that flows through the house, the quiet, the distant horizon, and of course, the stars at night.
