Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property was much closer to other properties than expected. Enjoyed the time but didn’t feel as secluded as hoped. No curtains over the main entrance door so hung a towel. My friend left her Apple Watch and efforts to contact the owner have gone unanswered so am currently disappointed.

Stayed Jun 14, 2026Pros:Nice bedrooms, stocked kitchen, access to laundry, homey touchesTo be aware:This property is not secluded. You are very close to owner's cabin and other rentals. Laundry is in shared, attached garage that is accessed during your stay. The lock does not work well so we had to manually lock and unlock during our stay. This meant going through the garage which had an entry to the house. Firepit and seating areas are shared. This place would be great for large families with children and pets. The kayaks and other equipment were easy to access. You can tell they are doing lots of work to the property to make improvements.

Stayed Nov 14, 2025The host was welcoming and it was very quant. Everything was clean with minor things that had some wear. We did notice that someone had been through the cabin when we got back from our day though, while nothing was missing it was a bit unsettling. Second bathroom is small but useable. Definitely needs to adjust the water heater. Beds were comfortable and cozy, and the couches were some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to sit on. Almost could have slept on them. Every well stocked kitchen supplies as well which is amazing.

Stayed Oct 1, 2025For the price this place can't be beat! You get everything you could need for your stay in a great location. The house is the last one on a dead end so no traffic with a great view of the river. Only thing we were bummed about was that the sauna wasn't available, but that was a small thing for the great value you get staying here. Hoping to come back next year. Cindy is a very responsive host! Thank you!

Stayed Sep 3, 2025Great for pet owners. We did not have a pet with us. After two nights we finally killed the last of the eighteen flys in the cabin on our arrival???Full dusting, window cleaning and no flys would likely have more quests booking a second stay. The cabin could easily charge a higher rate if these basics were addressed.

Stayed Jul 18, 2025We had the best time during our stay! Cabin is comfortable, has every kitchen amenity you could wish for, & the free access to kayaks was a huge plus for us! All of the mattresses were super comfortable. Cindy was a great host & Poe, her dog, was the sweetest! The location can't be beat! We enjoyed kayaking the Au Train River, Brownstone Inn for dinner, Bay Furnace for rock hunting, Capt Ron's Whitefish truck in Munising is a must & Au Train Grocery has the best pasties! We hope to return next year

Stayed Jun 21, 2025I cannot say enough about Cindy and her properties. We have stayed a few times now and she always makes us feel at home! From the minute we got there the kids were outside exploring everything there was to see and do! The cabin was absolutely perfect for the 8 of us and we had so much fun checking out Au Train, Marquette, Munising, Christmas, and even went through Pictured Rocks National Park to Grand Maraise! I am already planning my next trips! Cindy is an incredible host and she made sure we had everything we needed, my kids especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren during our stay! None of us wanted to leave at the end of the week. We love Au Train and all of the wonderful friends we made there!

Stayed May 30, 2025Was a great location. Close to the river with an abundance of canoe & kayaks to choose from. Beds were very comfortable. We were left a message that said that she was moving in next door and to excuse the garage mess. The lady next door (who is the caretaker of the property) greeted us nicely and when we asked if she could chain -up her dog when we were out with ours on a leash said she would. The place is dark even with more than enough overhead lighting. We always travel with flashlights and we were glad we did. You will need them. The trash was already piled up in the can and when we left was now overflowing. The biggest problem was that the turnaround area is scattered with nails that will either puncture your tires or skin. This is total disregard for the people staying here. PLEASE take care of this soon. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Stayed Feb 16, 2025The House was nice. However, after about 12 inches of snow the driveway was not plowed until we asked. The owner was nice but, not having a plowed driveway made it difficult to pull in or out with trucks and trailers.

Stayed Feb 1, 2025More upgrades than advertised. Plenty of room. Parking tight for a full size truck and 4 sled trailer, overflow parking available but not aware until after we were settled. Cabin marking gone from the main sign so difficult to find at first but easy to get to after we knew where we were going. If snowmobiling you have to ride the road to get to the trail system. Host attentive and accommodating.

Stayed Sep 15, 2024Very clean, was happy to find a king size bed rather than a full as stated in the listing. Kitchen was well stocked. Number of beds great for families or groups with kids. Thank you for being dog friendly. Gave four for cleanliness due to the unfinished drywall patch in the bathroom where the door was moved, apparently over a year ago based on other's reviews. The newly installed barn door slides open about four inches after being 'closed'... luckily it faces the hallway, not the living room. House faces east and we found it to be quite dark inside in the afternoon and evening. Listing photos could be updated to show current condition of fire pit area (no Adirondack chairs, picnic table ten feet away instead), dining area (kitchen chairs replaced by banquet chairs), living room (different sectional, recliner added, no floor lamp), and bathroom (see above). All in all, stay was just ok, not as nice as we expected based on listing photos.
