We really enjoyed our visit to this charming, cozy and well-equipped property. It is a historic building but has been modernized. We were three adults and two children and would definitely return to spend more time relaxing and exploring the CVNP and Cleveland. Plus, there is a fantastic cafe—the Ocelot—a few minutes away. Finally, our bed was very comfortable.
We loved staying at this cottage, it was perfect for 2 couples, college and life long friends. The cottage was just perfect. We were out during the day exploring the Cuyahoga National Park during the day and coming back to this perfect little cottage to hang together, relax and play games .. highly recommend… dave, donna, joy and dwight.
My friend and I stayed here for our girls weekend getaway and we loved it so much that we want to come back again soon!!
It was a nice weekend. Centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Only that would've been better would have been if there was more sun and less rain. But that can't be helped. We had a good time, relaxed and want to come back!
This was our second visit and we felt like we were coming home. The house is cozy and perfect for a reprieve from the daily grind. We are already checking the calendar to make plans for a return visit.
The only issue with the property was a lack of water pressure.
Very quaint
First off, this house had so much character and charm! We absolutely loved it! Was close to everything we needed. The host had popsicles in the freezer, which happen to be my 14 year olds love language. Air conditioning unit in the upper bedroom made it quite comfortable. Definitely a great house for a long weekend trip!
Neat little house, perfect for our purpose. Very close to the National Park. Would stay there again.
Great centralized location for what we wanted to do. (concert at Blossom Music Center, hiking Brandywine Trails, and riding train through park, Close to restaurants). Not the cleanest or most modern, but still worked out well.
Nice house and quiet location close enough to Cuyahoga National Park. Worked well with 3 kids (7/5/2 years old) for a couple nights. A park and Nature Preserve are also within easy walking distance.
Dark and cigarette smell.
Our /was for a great reason -- our son was getting married. We were very pleased with our accommodations. We were able to walk to town to eat and at night it was very quiet. While we didn't spending much time there, it was a pleasant retreat at the end of the day.
Great front porch. Nice to have bathrooms on both levels. Only real complaint was extremely strong, heavy smell of cleaning products on arrival.
What a great cozy cottage just a few minutes away from Cuyahoga National Park. We'd love to know more history about this home! The home kept it's older feel but was modernized with air conditioning, and very modern bathrooms and kitchen. I recommend for couples and families!
This was the cutest place! Exactly like the pictures. The entire place was very clean. The street it is located is very picturesque. The town is out of a storybook…seriously. I stayed there with my 24 year old daughter. We did daily hikes in Cuyahoga National Park so it was great to have a washer and dryer and all essentials to wash clothes. Definitely recommend this place!!
We rented this house for a long weekend to spend in Cuyahoga national Park. The house is charming. We are pleased with the cleanliness, parking, and proximity to the national park. I would definitely stay here again.
My friend and I stayed for a weekend to go hiking in the area. The house was clean and met all of our standards. There is so much to do all around the area, with just a short drive.
House is well kept and in a decent area if you’re looking to do some exploring of the Cuyahoga Valley!
Our primary goal was to hike and the location is unbeatable - within 15 minutes of great hikes and civilization. So, if you are missing something, it is easy to obtain. The kids loved the coziness of the house. We only used the first floor bed and couch and found them comfortable. For a colder weather, as another reviewer mentioned, it may be wise to pack an extra bed cover as the covers provided were light. The only thing that was unusual was the presence of some stink bugs - but they are harmless and they did not bother us and we did not bother them.
My husband and I got to this property and were VERY disappointed. The house is in extreme disrepair, it smelled awful, the refrigerator was dirty along with the entire kitchen (especially under the sink). The kitchen sink and fixture need to be replaced immediately along with the furnishings. We only stayed the first night as we had driven 12 hours and it was already going on 8:00pm which would make it difficult to start trying to find a hotel to stay in. When we woke up the next morning, we could hear an animal running around in the wall in the living room.. We packed up and left immediately.
My husband and I needed a weekend getaway and this cottage was perfect. We had barely settled in before deciding that next time, we need to stay at least 3 nights. My only gripe, and a very minor one, is that there were no extra blankets. The beds had sheets, bedspread, and a decorative throw. I run cold, so I froze the first night. A trip to Target fixed that for me and in the future, I'll bring a couple of blankets from home. Husband was not cold at all, so it's a personal thing. If you run cold, bring a couple of blankets for the nighttime. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes (including plastic ware for little ones), cooking pots/pans, and even has a few condiments and butter in the fridge. The only item missing would be a big soup pot/dutch oven to make stew or spaghetti water. As we were not planning on cooking those, it was a minor point noted for future reference as we plan return visits. My only request is that someone put together a booklet telling the history of this charming house. If the walls could talk, I expect they'd have stories galore. I can't be the only person who loves history and would love to know more about who built this house, lived there, and how the park service came to own it. We are already looking a the calendar to figure out when we'll be back... there are more trails to hike, popcorn to eat, and evenings to spend chatting in the living room.
