We booked this house for a surprise family reunion for our mother's 75th birthday due to the description and photos of the property. Family flew in from various locations. We arrived to find most of the property derelict with everything overgrown and broken. The only saving grace was the interior of the house being very clean - other than the kitchen which had hidden dirt (unclean dishes, pots and pans and a oven that was caked with oven cleaner and unusable). To top it all off, and unbeknownst to us, there were 7 cats that we had to feed! I have taken pictures of the property and can send them to you for comparison to the website photos. When I emailed the owner about it he simply said he didn't get a chance to cut down vegetation and that the cats were friendly. My entire family is very upset. This is our first time using Vrbo and likely our last unless this is addressed.
The property was as advertised. We enjoyed the stay, and instead of video games my two grandchildren were introduced to ping pong in the game room. We were there for three nights because of a funeral we were attending. There was much to do and explore, and we saw chickens, deer and wild turkeys. It was the first time I can recall neither of the kids watched TV or got on their computers. We actually talked. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with and we were fortunate to meet him as were leaving. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would definitely stay there again if the need should arise.
Roomy. Beautiful landscaping. Fun games. Plenty of beds. Lovely house!!
Our stay in Aug. was short but sweet. This home is hidden and driving up the hill felt like a mountain because we are from Fl. Our two-wheel drive handled it fine. This is the country, so bugs and wild are all around. It was a sight to wake up and see deer in the yard. Wifi was slow, so happy my husband didn't need to work. He did enjoy having a guitar to play on the deck overlooking the beautiful view. The garden area and koi pond were my favorite. I couldn't figure out how to use the hot tub but I'm sure the ower would've helped if we would've reach out, we were just short on time.
Other than a glitch with the heating on the first night (we were there for a week over Christmas), the property was fantastic. Our kids loved playing ping-pong, feeding the chickens, and collecting a few eggs. And they especially enjoyed the secret room (child's bedroom) behind the master closet. The grown ups loved the peace and quiet, walking the trails on the property, cooking, and the views. Beautiful house. Would definitely rent again.
