Private Rockaway Beach Retreat: 2 Blocks to Ocean!

My husband, 2 dogs and I loved our stay. The house was very comfortable and location was perfect. Very quiet neighborhood and a short walk to Nedonna beach. We saw very few people on the beach and the dogs were in heaven running and playing. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of nice linens and towels. Upper deck is large and nice with stairs going to filled fenced back yard- perfect for dogs. Ample parking in driveway and hosing area conveniently located for getting the sand off. The kitchen was adequately stocked - anything we needed for our stay was there. If you're someone that has an issue navigating stairs- probably not the place for you as family room and kitchen are on second floor like many homes in the area. We loved the location and didn't want to leave. Would definitely stay here again.

We had the most amazing time at this cute and cozy home. So close to the beach-we enjoyed walking there with our dogs every morning and sunset. The recently updated deck and fenced in backyard really made this place better than we could have imagined, and the pictures don’t do it justice! The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed and more. Beds were comfortable and the individual heaters in each room added additional comfort on the chilly, rainy nights. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again soon!

This is a very nice rental and close walking distance to the beach. Love when a rental is fully stocked if you prefer to cook any meals. Wish were able to able to stay longer, but our vacation was ending.

The company who facilitated the renting of this property, Envoy, did a good job of sending info emails as our vacation got closer. However, one of the emails was mixed up with another property and caused some initial confusion.

The house is on the smaller side, especially the additional bedrooms were quite cramped. We were a party of four with 2 pets. For the two of us who weren't in the main bedroom, we didn't have enough room to keep both our suitcases in the bedroom. On the plus side, the home was clean and very thoughtfully furnished. Everything you need for having a good time at the beach is provided in the home - beach towels, beach chairs, sports and games. Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable time staying in this house.

This house was so special, so clean, and so well appointed with everything you’d ever need. It’s hard not to just drop a bunch of AWESOMEST HOUSE EVER exclamations into this review. Only complaint is that it isn’t my house because it truly felt like home. Plus the quick walk to the beautiful beach... or chilling on the deck... blissful tough choices!

Four stars for the home and owners; zero stars for the property management company. Four stars: The house was fantastic! It was well provisioned and above and beyond any beach house we've rented. The beds were very comfy, which is a rarity on the coast where most furnishings and beds look & feel like Goodwill finds. The owners really care about the house want to make the stay an experience to remember. Zero stars: The only complaint I have is regarding the property management company - Evolve Vacation Rental Network. They were useless, though they did manage to collect a hefty fee on the reservation. Also, their cancellation policy is probably the most aggressive I've seen in all the years I've been renting homes on the coast: a portion upfront (non-refundable upon clicking Reserve) followed by the balance two weeks prior to your arrival (also non-refundable). If you rent from them, make sure your life won't change before you arrive. We also had a small issue at the house and needed help. We consulted the instructions for the house. Evolve's policy is to contact the owners of the house who were not local or available. We tried calling Evolve and did not receive a call back during the four days we spent at the house. It would be one thing if it was an inexpensive beach shack but this is a premium house with a premium nightly price tag. For that price, I expected some level of customer service during our stay or at the very least, not to be ignored. I don't think I'll rent a house from Evolve going forward.
