Stayed Jan 1, 1This is a lovely cottage with a path direct to Coniston Water with a small beach, and a grassy area for relaxing. It is very tranquil. Some of he grounds are wooded. There is a little piece of ground behind the cottage with barbecue and picnic table. However, because the weather was so good we were out walking most of the time. There is an excellent walk across the road onto Blawith Common....truly beautiful. The East of the lake is worth exploring and we had a good afternoon at Brantwood. There are a good choice of pubs with Coniston, Torver and Lowick nearby. The cottage has old-world charm with comfortable, modern furnishings and equipment, making for a truly wonderful stay. There was a lot of attention to detail as to what would be needed for a vacation. E.g. well-equipped kitchen, practical bathroom, plenty of walking themed books and maps, clothes airers, picnic tables and benches. Bedding and towels are provided. There was a constant supply of hot water. There is a parking space provided. Next door is another holiday cottage.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was easy to find with the travel instructions we received . The cottage was well equipped and cosy, perfect for all our needs. Being so close to Coniston water made the stay all the more enjoyable. We spent alot of time kayaking and paddle boarding from the bottom of the garden. We had a great week trying new walks nearby. We would definitely book this cottage again, it was picturesque in a beautiful setting.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Quirky little cottage with everything we wanted and a lot more besides in a secluded location with a private beach. Our well behaved dog was immediately at home in her new surroundings There was ample parking. The wifi code needs to be read very carefully as it's not as obvious as it appears first glance.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Loved how close to the lake it was. It’s one of the cleanest we have stayed in, attention to detail and everything we needed was provided. Communication before our stay was excellent, check in was easy, Ross kindly called to say we could check in early. Great location for someone who wants a quiet relaxing time away and easy access to the lake .We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Potter’s Wheel and will definitely return . .

Stayed Jan 1, 1Pros Cottage is located in a lovely and peaceful location surrounded by nature, but also not too far from nearby Coniston to feel isolated. So many local walks and things to do and see. The Cottage is very cosy, especially at night, with the fire crackling away. Has everything you need for a weeks stay to make your own meals Private access to the lake is a great bonus for anybody into swimming / water sports Beds were comfy Instructions for appliances and general cottage guide was well thought out Great selection of games, books, DVDs and maps to browse through Cons - We found the shower to be very weak - Didn't realise dog weren't allowed in the bedrooms until we arrived so we did not use the upstairs room at all, although they were comfy twin beds downstairs - No visitors book to sign and get ideas from Overall we really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage to be very accommodating and is obviously well looked after and cherished by the owners. Thank you :)

Stayed Jan 1, 1Arrived late afternoon to a welcoming and warm, clean cottage. Stayed here 15 years ago and always said we would return. Setting is wonderful with easy access to the lake (has a shingle shoreline). Great for sitting by a campfire and watching the stars on a clear night and listening to the owls, but wrap up warm if you're stay is in the winter! Tucked away and surrounded by trees, this place is a comfort blanket for the soul. Take some bird food and a feeder and you'll be entertained by the local wildlife directly outside the kitchen window whilst having breakfast. Squirrels, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Robins, various other birds and, if you're lucky, even a cheeky stoat might make an appearance! The cottage has everything you need for your stay. Very well equipped kitchen - just add food. Cosy lounge, especially when the log burner is pressed into service (logs/kindling available locally down in Coniston village). Comfortable bed too, with plenty of spare blankets if required. If you fancy eating out then plenty of good places locally and a little further afield. Ideally located for visiting The Langdales, Ambleside and Windermere. Customer service at Tarn and Fell Escapes excellent. Prompt and helpful responses to our queries. If you're looking for a cosy, well equipped little bolthole, then this is the place. We are already planning our third stay. Would just advise caution if using the outside steps to the upper floor - very slippery. 'Tis the lake district after all. All in all, a great little place to 'get away from it all'.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We really enjoyed staying at Potters Wheel. The cottage is fantastic value for money, given the space and the access to Coniston Water. We love swimming and Paddlebaording and loved the beach access. The cottage has free parking and is a short drive away from local fells and peaks. The cottage was very cosy and was well maintained. The kitchen is modern, well equipped and clean. The bathroom was very clean. Our only minor suggestion would be keep on top of dusting, particularly in the living space. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A beautifully designed extension to this old cottage makes for a warm, cosy and comfortable place to relax and unwind, or use as a base from which to explore and be more adventurous. Superbly equipped kitchen makes meal prep easy. The beds and sofas are very comfortable. Two main criteria for me were a log fire and a bathtub. It all worked so well. Tucked away in woodland but close enough to the road, I loved it. Would definitely re-book.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Four of us stayed and we had THE BEST TIME. Every need is catered for. Fixtures and fittings are high quality and everything you think you’ve forgotten is already at the cottage. The cottage itself is so full of character and being near the beautiful lake is fantastic. We will be returning- if you could order some sunshine next time though we would be grateful!!! ☀️☀️☀️

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Yes there was access to the lake but to carry a kayak down over grown paths and steps was not a viable situation. Overgrown vegetation needs to be cut back.
