Our family really enjoyed staying at this property. The wildlife was amazing to see. We had fun feeding the deer, one was brave enough to feed from our hands. Cottage was well stocked and very clean with comfy beds. Our host replied asap to any questions we had. It was a great family retreat

Positives:- Host was super nice. Allowed us early check in and late checkout as there were no immediate bookings- The property itself was very nice, exactly as per the pictures- The unit was very well stocked - there were all toiletries, even body lotion which is rare to see at rentals, board games, puzzles, a bottle of wine, bbq, fire pit, kids foosball, kids pool, lots of DVDs, and books- The place was very peaceful and quiet which is exactly what we wanted- Though its right off the road, you can feel the nature the moment you walk in. We saw turkeys off the road several times. Chipmunks were always there. We saw a fox once, and even saw a family of deer on our last day. That was truly a unique experience- The lake is so beautiful and the water is so clear. We had an amazing time Kayaking thereSome minor things that could have been better:- the couch had an old couch smell. I wish there was a cover that we could use to avoid sitting on it directly- some of the towels had a strong pungent smell. Couldn't make out what it was- Some snack items in the unit had expired - if you're going to be leaving snacks for us to enjoy, please check them for expiry. Overall, we had a great time, and thanks again Marcie for your amazing hospitality.

We started feeling the 'nature' of the place the day we checked in. There were deer in the back and front yards and we had already seen turkeys on the road into the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and the birds, deer, foxes etc just added to our enchantment and enjoyment. Lake of Bays was also lovely and great to swim in. Wonderful time had by all, we could be back.

We had a lovely stay. The host was very nice and the cabin was well stocked. One of the best. There were lots of wild animals roaming the area. We even saw a fox one night. The fire pit wasn't only stocked, but already had the fire ready to light.

The cottage was well-equipped with all necessary amenities, with consideration for children and the hosts were very thoughtful and friendly. The spacious accommodations comfortably housed our party of five (three adults and two children) and offered convenient access to a dock with lily pads, which our children thoroughly enjoyed. The children also delighted in feeding the deer that visited the property several times a day. We were even fortunate enough to observe a fox. Overall, it was an ideal retreat in a charming cottage.

Pictures are very misleading. “Cottage” is just another house in a neighborhood, 50 feet from a busy road. Sounds of traffic, mowing lawns and construction are constant. The dock is a whole other issue…across the street and 100 feet down the road. Not to mention the steep incline to get to it. Also, the docks are cramped together. Not my idea of a quiet cottage vacation.

We are 6 friends who twice a year get away for 5 days . We quilt, we learn new techniques and spend lots of time enjoying time away. From the minute we booked to the last few hours we spent here we felt it was truly a home away from home. The owners couldn’t be more welcoming setting up our space so we could quilt, cook and just have a fabulous time. Thankyou

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the cottage and we have enjoyed it both times. There were 4 adults and one dog. Plenty of room for everyone. The beds are comfortable, the cottage is nice and warm and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a fire in the firepit both days. It was a nice surprise to find the wood piled and ready to light when we removed the cover the first day. We will be back next February! Thank you Marcie & Brent

This cottage is a beautiful retreat, nestled in nature. Very peaceful. Lots of deer and wild turkey came to visit us while we stayed. Marcie and Brent are very thoughtful hosts. They left lots of amenities to help us feel welcome and at home. It was also very easy to reach one of them when we had a tiny issue with one of the technical gadgets at the cottage. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, perhaps in the summer?

A lovely weekend away to see the fall colours, and enjoy Lake of Bays with a bit of nearby hiking. The cottage was perfect for our needs, and Marcie provided everything we needed (and more!) Thanks for a great stay!

After a very rocky start, our family weekend turned out to be a very good time. We had been given the wrong lock box code and wifi address/password, so we couldn't get into the property or contact the owner. Luckily a neighbour across the street was very kind, and allowed me to come in and use her wifi, so I could send a note to the owner through the site. We waited over 2 hours in the front yard, but then got the call with the correct access code so we could enter. The owners are very nice, and they did give us a small refund to make up for the rough start. The cottage is beautiful inside. I would say it's a little tight for 6 adults, as the 3rd bedroom is quite small for a couple, but the main floor bedroom is great, and the big bedroom upstairs with a balcony overlooking the back of the property is very nice as well. We love being on Lake of Bays, so we rented a boat from Lake of Bays Marina close-by, and we toured around the Lake with a stop in Dorsett for ice cream. We took a lot of walks, saw several deer, a couple of foxes, 2 pheasants, and a few blue jays. We didn't spend a lot of time on the dock, as it's a bit small and was shaded for much of the days (until the sun hits it mid-late afternoon), but we did go there for a couple of short visits, and friends came over on Sunday and were able to dock their boat in front of the dock. I definitely would prefer being lake-side, however this cottage is very nice and gave us a wonderful labour day weekend with our family!

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The host was so kind and welcoming and available to answer questions. There was a short walk to the dock, however, the dock was large and had chairs, table, umbrella, and nice shallow water and Sandy bottom for swimming and playing. We traveled with teenagers, who especially enjoyed the high-speed internet and entertainment system on a rainy day. Everyone in our family had a great time. There's a beautiful fire pit, with marshmallow sticks and kindling. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There's 2 and 1/2 bathrooms, washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge with basic condiments, spices, utensils, everything you need. There's also air conditioning, games, they even have beach towels. We were delighted by the wildlife, there's chipmunks and deers, it's also close to Regged Falls which we had a great hike at. The kitchen had anything you could possibly need. We even made spaghetti in the Crock-Pot, the barbecue is fantastic to use, the house is open and there's plenty of room for everyone. It's also close to the grocery store and there's a great chip wagon close by too! Thank you Marcie for being such a gracious host and for setting the stage for a wonderful family holiday ❤️
