Pickett Cottage At Brierfield - Peace In The Country Near Gettysburg

Always a pleasure to stay at these cute cottages. And the animals are a bonus. Chris us a marvelous host.

Our stay was better than advertised, the host go's above and beyond. The amenities are a nice surprise and the animals were amazing , I can't wait to go back again.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly, and the property is beautiful. I had a very relaxing and comfortable stay, and it’s great that it’s so close to the battlefield. Animals that live on the property are also very friendly and add to a great atmosphere. It’s a great spot!

We had such a lovely stay 3 night stay at Pickett Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and more than we expected. The property is quiet and serene, yet so close to everything Gettysburg offers. We found the animals (sweet dog Izzy, turkeys, chickens, bunnies & guinea hens) adorable. The turkeys were hysterical, and served as a welcoming and going away committee every time we left and returned to the cottage - they would amble over to us and it’s like they had FOMO and needed to be in the middle of any action. The water, juice, soda, cheese, etc. were so appreciated. We also appreciated the fluffy towels and how clean the cottage was.

Downtown and Battlefield are close by, maybe 5-8 minutes

This coottage was incredible. Clean comfortable and beautiful. It was very relaxing. There were snacks in the fridge and on the table, you were greeted by the sweet animals. As you came and left every day. This was our first time staying at these cottages and we will be back. And it was just outside of Gettysburg, so it was close to all shops and restaurants. We can't say and upgrade things about it.

This was our third time staying at Brierfield. As always, it was magical and relaxing in everyway. The property is clean, the accommodations are comfy, and the hosts are amazing. Oh, and if you're into turkey friends, bunnies, ducks, and a sweet pup named Izzy (among more!) -this is the places to be!

This cottage was straight from a storybook! The hosts went to great lengths to ensure comfort with extra attention to details. The property was very clean and well maintained. I would certainly recommend this property for a quiet getaway.

This was a very clean and we loved the uniqueness of it. Drinks and snacks provided for us which was greatly appreciated. We loved all the animals that greeted us in the mornings. We also felt very safe staying here. Close to everything yet secluded too.

The owner always greets us with a smile as the animals especially the turkeys come running to greet us. The accommodations are always nice. Everything was decorated up for Christmas. We actually had a Christmas tree in our room. Can’t wait to go back hopefully in the spring when it’s warm.

Absolutely delightful! We would stay here again. Fantastic location. Feathered hosts were a hoot! (And we're not even animal people!) Just the right touch of simplicity meets cozy comfort. Highly recommend.

A hidden gem! It's only a seven-minute drive to the college campus, which was the focus of our visit. Our host was friendly and accommodating, and we really appreciated the snacks! I'd recommend this cottage as an option for visiting parents or civil war students visiting the battlefield.

Staying at Pickett Cottage at Brierfield was a great experience from booking the property to saying goodbye to one of the hosts when we were leaving. The cottage was conveniently close to Gettysburg attractions, yet private and secluded for a relaxing, quiet stay. The property is on a farm and forest location providing a nice, natural setting. The cottage was decorated very tasteful and all the amenities made for a comfortable stay. It was so cute seeing and being greeted by furry and feathered friends when we took a walk around the property. Friendly rabbits, beautiful turkeys, geese and ducks extended their hospitality to us. It was very gracious for Terry and Chris to have provided snacks and treats for us, and those furry/feathered friends. My wife loved the cottage and the experience of staying at Brierfield which was part of a birthday getaway for her. We look forward to staying again and have already recommended the property to friends.

Location was beautifully rural, yet so close to Gettysburg. Every morning we spent time in the charming screened in porch enjoying the array of wildlife that came to greet us..turkeys, guinea hens, rabbits and chickens and had great fun feeding them! Comfortable bed, generous portion and array of snacks and everything we needed. Can’t say enough good things about this cottage. Loved our stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Pickett cabin two weekends in a row during The National Apple Harvest Festival. The cabin is beautiful, super clean and such a relaxing place to stay. Chris and Todd are fabulous hosts and go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. They are so gracious and provide a selection of snacks and beverages including coffee to get you started upon arrival. The grounds around the cabin are meticulously kept and they have pet turkeys, roosters, Guinea hens, rabbits, cats, bunnies freely roaming the property and not to be forgotten their friendly dog, Izzy, who comes and pays a visit on a regular basis. It is so relaxing to sit in the screened in front porch overlooking the 17 acre property(don’t forget to bring dog treats!). We’ve already booked our next year’s stay at the Pickett cabin and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Gettysburg area.Jim and Lisa Bennett

Not enough can be said about our recent stay at Pickett Cottage. My wife was showing her blankets at the National Apple Harvest Festival and with the long hours setting up and working in her booth we were looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.How fortunate we were to discover Chris and Todd’s beautiful cottage.From the moment we arrived, our experience was nothing short of delightful. The property itself is beautifully maintained — clean, comfortable and surrounded by lovely grounds that added a peaceful, rustic touch. Every corner felt cared for, and it was clear that attention to detail is a priority here.One of the most memorable aspects of our stay were the pets that freely roam the property. Turkey, Guinea Hens, Roosters, Rabbits and not to be forgotten, Izzy, their friendly and calming dog who would regularly come by the cottage to join us in the screened in front porch.The décor and atmosphere perfectly balanced cozy and practical, making it easy to settle in and feel right at home. Everything was spotless, and the cottage offered all the comfort we could have hoped for.Chris and Tom, our hosts, were absolutely wonderful. They were warm, friendly, and welcoming — the kind of hosts who make you feel more like visiting friends than guests. Their hospitality truly elevated the entire experience.Overall, our stay was fantastic from start to finish and we’ve already booked our two weekend stay for next year’s festival! Adorable cottage get-away, close to the attractions but with the benefit of a secluded location surrounded by beautiful farm fields. Super clean and well stocked. Highly recommend & would love to stay again some day.

Such a charming, tranquil little cottage. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and couldn’t have been more delighted. We thoroughly enjoyed the bunny rabbits that roam the property freely as well as do the wild turkeys who literally escorted us to Pickett’s cottage and then Izzy who greeted us in the morning. Our hosts thought of everything imaginable to make our anniversary special and all within a convenient location to the Gettysburg battlefield. Highly recommended.

This is the second time we have stayed Briarfield! The accommodations are perfection, they provide everything you need and more! They even went out of their way and let us borrow chairs for our event. We truly love Briarfield!

Conveniently located near Gettysburg National Military Park yet secluded, quiet and peaceful. Comfortable and charming. The roaming critters were a fun extra. Grateful for this place.

Beautiful property! Cottage was as stated online--NO embellishments. Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and do plan to return as there is much to do up here. Great weekend retreat for those in Baltimore /DC area ( and beyond) as there is more than a days worth of places to visit/explore ( Hiking Caledonia trails). Beats any hotel!

Another relaxing stay at Brierfield Cottages, this time at Pickett. Both cottages are similar, except this one has a queen size bed while the other one has a king size. Both have nice quality antique furniture, decor and interesting books about Gettysburg. And of course, we enjoyed our visits from the animals! Unfortunately I couldn't remember your dog's name. We would be happy to stay again if in the area.

It is a cozy, charming area. The animals that roam around was an awesome addition to our stay. Very impressive area and the hosts were awesome.

From the farm friends to the cottage set up to the proximity to Gettysburg, this is absolutely a place that I would stay again. The space was fantastic with welcoming amenities, including some feed flakes for the animals. Already recommended this place and looking forward to checking out the other cottage next visit.

I stayed overnight to just get away from home for a night. It was very cozy and well stocked for my trip.

Relaxing, convenient and brings you into country with their friendly pets. I would 10000% recommend this cottage. We are looking forward to returning when warmer weather returns to enjoy the patio.

We had a relaxing getaway at Picketts Cottage! Tucked away just a few miles from downtown Gettysburg, this peaceful cottage set in the woods is a place we will stay again. The hosts provided us with wine and cheese and crackers and lots of snacks and beverages for our stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated and it’s surroundings are very clean and well kept. What makes this place so unique is the domesticated turkeys,chickens,ducks and rabbits that roam freely about and greet you as you come and go! The hosts leave a bag of food for us to feed the birds in the mornings and we were given half a dozen fresh eggs upon checking out! A very special place indeed!

Just completed another 3 night stay at the Brierfield cottages. As usual I find it difficult to say enough positive things about the accommodations or the inn keepers Chris & Todd. It is rare to find a place with such attention to detail and amenities. Hope to stay there for many years to come. Thank you Chris and Todd, have a great 2025.

Peaceful and beautiful, perfect location to see Gettysburg and surrounding countryside. The ambience and decor is charming, and the host was responsive to all questions. Could not have been happier with this stay, and only wish that it could have been longer!!

All the welcoming animals were great turkeys, chickens and the bunnies were the best. Walking out of the cottage early in the am with the fog lifting and the bunnies hopping around were awesome. Friendliest hosts, with some snacks and refreshments in the fridge! Thanks you!

A perfect place to relax and reset when life has overtaken stressful situations, this place has all of that and more. I recommend this cottage hands down over a motel room. The hosts are attentive and accommodating. Easily accessible and go over and above to make their guest have a memorable experience.

The property is is beautiful. Accommodating cottages are lovely. We were met by an abundance of friendly turkeys, ducks, chickens, rabbits and bunnies. My husband spent most of his time enjoying the animals on the screened porch. We will definitely visit again.

My wife (the forever researcher) found this wonderful refuge, that having the privilege of the respite the owner impart to its guests, regret not having more time to enjoy it. The property is a gem of peaceful calm, beautiful grounds and you are surrounded with wild life surrounds. It is an experience that may just require another visit just to hang out and explore. The Pickett cottage is a lovely cottage in a rural area. The cottage is well maintained and extremely clean. It has a lovely screened in porch where we were even treated to fresh cut flowers. The cottage had all sorts of amenities-snacks, drinks, toiletries-the attention to detail was impressive. There was a lovely screened in gazebo behind the cottage. Many tame, friendly animals roam the property: a rooster, chickens, domestic rabbits, guineahens, and 4 turkeys. We enjoyed our stay at Pickett Cottage and definitely recommend it!

A taste of the country just a few miles outside of Gettysburg and even less to the battlefield. We were greeted each morning outside the cottage by (domestic) turkeys, rabbits, and chickens coming up outside the screened in porch, who all knew we had been provided with a bag of snacks to feed them with. Our hosts were great, and provided us with snacks as well.
