Also, I personally come down to do spring cleaning every month during the season to make sure my house is clean and ready for my guests!

We still provide blankets for each bed, but to save cost continue to bring your own linens and towels. But, we now can provide linens and towels for an extra cost if you want a more stress free stay!

**** NEW IN 2023. New patio furniture and umbrella for your family outdoor entertainment. A new road to the house and the walk to the beach to make the trek easier for our guests. I've also replaced the front double glass door and new screen for the deck.
We did lots of great renovation for our beach house in 2016 and continue to keep our beach house updated and well maintained.
We are so excited to have the beach house ready for our guests for the season.
In 2016 a new master bath was added along with a larger sq. footage for the bedrooms with fans. New flooring installed throughout the house, new windows, updated furniture, new bedding, and freshly painted. A new outdoor shower and new patio furniture on the main level deck will complete our renovations! Our Rodanthe Beach House is close the beach & pet friendly. “Four Oh One Kay” is a classic, cozy pet friendly Hatteras Island cottage with a short walk to the beach access via Sudie Payne Road. A convenient one level floor plan with a spacious great room makes it perfect for families. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all attached and open making together time more convenient than ever.
'Four Oh One Kay' features a spacious living room with overstuffed couches and armchair to make summer evenings just a little more relaxing while the family is gathering. The kitchen is right next to you with a wonderful buffet center island that includes your stove and small appliances great for breakfasts and lunches! Plenty of space for a couple of kitchen cooks to move around and prepare the family meals. The dining area is cozy with plenty of chairs for the household. Lots of windows are all around you so there is plenty of light for those early morning breakfasts.
The bedrooms are all together down the hall. The large master suite features its own full bathroom, deck with private outdoor shower, and television. The blue room has a queen size bed. The bunk bedroom even features a childrens table and chair set for kid time.
The homeowner made extensive upgrades and repairs to the underside of the house including a sandy spot for the kids or dogs to play out of the summer sun. Fully enclosed showers upstairs and down stairs is just waiting for you to cool off after a long day at the beach! Lastly is the fish cleaning table for the angler in your family, fresh water to keep everything clean has been added too.
This home is located close to Hatteras Island stores, shopping, restaurants and attractions. The historic Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station is just a short walk on the beach from “Four Oh One Kay” and exploring it is a great way to spend an early morning or late afternoon. The recently added huge decks with screened porch and rooftop deck offer expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean and amazing sound side sunsets.
I booked this house for a colleague of mine who was traveling to the OBX for the first time. He loved staying at this beach house. He is learning to kiteboard and loved the fact that this home was so conveniently located. The house was clean and had everything he needed. Grace was amazing as far as communication and extremely helpful! She definitely goes above and beyond for her guests!
We had a great time. Thank you!
The house was. cozy, and. everything worked well except the main lock for the house was very tricky - took awhile to get it to lock each time. We all had a great time, playing games we brought and also ones there (I reorganized the game storage place) The local places to eat and shop were great - nice people everywhere!
It was relaxing and quiet down time from the hustle of day to day.
The property was well-kept, even though an older property. There were ample kitchen tools and other amenities to make the stay enjoyable. Owner communicated changes in weather and road conditions and was very prompt in replying. The “walking distance “ to beach was a bit farther than anticipated and a bit more difficult than expected. Because we arrived during an anticipated hurricane (Ian), I am not too bothered.
We had a wonderful time staying here this week. We were sad to leave. The house has all the things you could need while on vacation. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for having such a well stocked place. ?
My husband and our two children stayed in Four Oh One Kay for Labor Day weekend and it was an exceptional experience all the way around. The owner Grace, was excellent with communication (even while being out of the country during our stay!) and her house is absolutely lovely. It was a perfect fit for my little family. The house decor is adorable and it is very spacious (the photos simply don’t do it justice) the roof top deck was fabulous and the short walk to the beach was great. I 100% recommend this property for your next stay, you won’t regret it!
All needed information was well communicated.
The cottage was just as stated in Vrbo. It was close to the ocean, a short walk to the beach. The beach was very nice and uncrowded. We enjoyed sitting on the top deck to relax in the evenings.
House needs some updating. Not enough furniture for a family to relax comfortably. We had to bring sheets and towels. Description of items in the house needs to be updated due to not being accurate. Rodanthe was nice and quiet.
This was a wonderful beach house! Our first impression after walking in was “wow it’s a lot bigger/ more open than the pictures make it look” so that was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of space for the 4 adults and 3 children that was with us. The property owner was very nice and quick to respond to messages. Beach access was very close and house was in a great location to the local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!
Great place we had a great time
The house was beautiful and the proximity to the beach was superb. Miss Grace was great in working with me and my requests. I hope to be able to stay at the house in the future.
This place is centrally located within the city of Rodanthe. We've stayed at numerous properties through VRBO, and this was the dirtiest place we've stayed at. Mold is a huge problem. It's in the AC in master bedroom and bathrooms. We were able to open up the windows to let fresh air in. In general, this place is very outdated and could use a good overall cleaning. I wore white socks, which turned black on the bottom because the floors were filthy. There's no cable service, but you can connect your smart phone to the TV. Make sure to look at prices in the area. Our family rented at huge 10 bedroom with a pool, bar, cinema room for only twice the price as this home.
Grace was wonderful. She was very concerned making sure we were happy. Only downside was the weather. Nor’easter came in first day we were there and never left until we did! Not Grace’s fault. Mother Nature.
