The house was quaint. some things that were noticed were the code was wrong to get into the lock box and we tried about a half a dozen times before we called the owners phone to ask for the code. There were no boxes of tissues, which we thought were a staple at any place that you stay. no sugar in the kitchen, no spices either. there was food left in the freezer from the previous vacationers. It is a very quiet area and very calm and relaxing. we were able to unplug and relax, thank you.

It was a great place to stay. It is located between St Michaels and Tilghman Island. So we loved the location. We watched the sunset a couple nights down Old Clairborne rd. The place was adorable and very clean with sheets, towels and enough basics to get you through until you can get to the store. I thought there was a King size bed but there was not. There is a Queen, 2 twins and a full pull out sofa. Not a big deal but I thought from the listing that there was a King. (If you put the 2 twins together they would make a King). There was a wasp nest and when I let the owner know, she quickly took care of it. There was water on both sides. We used the kayaks and it was a little difficult getting in and out of the water but that is what makes the funny memories. We really enjoyed our stay!

Our family had a great time overall staying in this house. The house is smaller but does not feel cramped. The location is great with access to water, bikes/kayaks, and lots of yard space. Less than 15 minutes to both St. Michaels and Tilghman. Our kids loved staying here and since returning home, have mentioned no less than a dozen times that they miss “our vacation house”. A few things to know before booking: - Contrary to what the listing states, there is NO screened porch- The Master bedroom offers little privacy as there is no door; it is continuous with the landing going to the bathroom and 2nd bedroom- Dock access was initially unclear. The online listing doesn’t mention anything. There is a note in the house indicating that dock access is prohibited; but upon clarifying with the owner, we found that we were able to use the neighbors’ dock to launch kayaks. I wish this had been clear from the beginning, as we initially tried to launch the kayaks from the rocky shore, which was extremely difficultOverall we would definitely consider renting again!

We spent a long weekend at Shipwright Cottage. You can see the water from almost every window. The home is cozy. My only comment would be that if you plan on cooking be sure to bring your spices etc. But there are plenty of places nearby to eat! We love the Eastern Shore and seeing all the waterfowl. You could hear And see the geese every evening.

basically we were satisfied, but owner should take screened porch out of the listing. there is no screening. It is a cute place, and suited our needs. one suggestion re cleaning: there is mold on the ceiling of the full bath.

This property is beautifully renovated and has everything you could need. Wake up to water views on a quiet peninsula with views on 2 sides of the cottage. It was great that we could have our 2 small dogs with us. Would definitely come again!

Lovely historic waterman's house on a private lane with access to the river. We thoroughly enjoyed the bikes & kayaks provided (access to the river is via a neighbor's dock, but close & easy). Kitchen was well-stocked, there are puzzles & games for kids & it felt spacious despite it's smaller size. The air conditioning worked great! We would have enjoyed opening the windows on the cooler nights, but only 1-2 were functional. Host was easy to work with & responsive - great, central location.

This cute, cozy cottage was perfect for the two of us and our small dog. It was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the additional amenities (kayaks and bikes) although we didn't have a chance to use them. Internet access was good. Our stay was brief but we noticed that there was not much storage space for clothes in the bedroom or food supplies in the kitchen. During our stay the upstairs bathroom faucet was non-functioning. Our host indicated that she was aware of the problem and that the plumber had been in earlier on the day we arrived. Apparently he needed a part and the repair had not been done. An apology for and recognition of the inconvenience would have been appreciated.
