PENNY PLOT COTTAGE, pet friendly, with a garden in Lyme Regis

Cottage was well located for local area. Quiet area away from main road. Bathroom would benefit from an update. Kitchen and bathroom were compact but functional. Place was clean and warm even with old single glazed windows in parts of the property. Bus stop nearby. Plenty to do locally in Lyme Regis. Vicious hills walking back from sea front. Over all the stay was comfortable and relaxing.

We loved it...But...if your after luxury this is not for you. Very clean, lovely white towels, and the beds were very comfy and bed linen spotless.Great garden for our dog but the gate was a little rickety, we managed to close it and secured with stones. The gateway to the overgrown portion of the garden had no gate so not totally secure for dogs, we parked our van in the gap to stop escapes!. The lovely front room in the picture of the ad was not the reality, the sofas were comfy but stained as was the carpet throughout. Tiny in scale but had everything we needed. No drain smells as reported in other reviews. Bit of a hike from the centre of town, but thats Lyme Regis for you. Overall..lovely and clean, a little tatty, but a great location. Spend a bit of money on this place and it could be beautiful. We'd come again.

Lovely peaceful location. Nice enclosed garden and rough area for wildlife & dogs. The property is rustic and wouldn't suit those looking for luxury kitchens etc, but everything worked well and the beds were very comfortable. There is a smell of drains in the bathroom, but that's not unusual in older properties and nothing appeared to be leaking...

The apartment was very musty as though it had not been used for a very long time. Furniture in front room very old and musty and not as the pictures on the website. Take some towels as although it says they are provided only hand and face towels and only 1 of each per person. Not very dog friendly as could not secure the gates. Overall disappointing as I felt like I was staying in an old persons house.

Lovely cottage extremely clean and tidy. Gardens are secure and the view amazing! Be aware it is at the top of a very steep hill, and the walk to Lyme is not a flat walk. Going down is fine, back up not so much! The only other thing I would point out, the only channel on the tv is the iplayer, nothing else worked.

Clean and ideal for a couple with a dog. The hill to the property from the main road is rather steep for others to take into consideration - however the whole area of Lyme Regis is hilly so you should expect a good workout for walking. A lovely pub (the Nags Head) on the main road was an ideal stop off for a breather and refreshments. :)
