This was our third stay at the cottage since 2022 and, sad to say, it is lacking attention. I would suggest that the bathroom towels need to be replaced, the toilet in the main floor hallway kept stopping up and needs further attention, the double reclining chair in the living room is broken, the chair in the back bedroom in the main level has a loose/broken front leg, the wicker patio chairs have nails and staples sticking out of the armrests, the other patio chairs are hard as a rock and need cushions, the toaster should be replaced as well as a few of the pans, the door mats should be replaced. Overall, attention and a general sprucing up will bring this property back to its former charm.

Our second time to gather with extended family at the stone cottage for Christmas and now for New years. So festive and cozy for Christmas. Lovely gathering space to relax with family. Nice big dining table to enjoy meals and for the kids to color and play games. Love the fireplace. Plenty of storage to put away suitcases and really feel at home. We love the coffee shop next door and going in to Berlin.

We enjoyed our weekend at the Stone Cottage. We had plenty of room as there were two of us and it sleeps twelve. It's tastefully decorated for Christmas and felt really cozy, especially when the gas fireplace was on. Our two dogs enjoyed the fenced area and (they are little) standingby the windows barking at the horses and buggies. It's very close to the general store where we got an excellent sausage pizza for dinner. Check in was very easy and there was a welcome book that also explained the checkout process. We didn''t cook any meals but the kitchen seemed well stocked with all the usual plates, cutlery, pots, pans and appliances. Behind the kitchen there is a nice screened porch with seating. My only quibble is the bed sheets. They are some sort of nylon (?) material. I found them to be uncomfortably hot. I had a set like these I only used once before I downgraded them to be used as protection at rentals from my hairy little dogs. The bed was very comfortable and most importantly the whole cottage was extremely clean. I highly recommend the Stone Cottage!

This property looks exactly like the pictures! It is so quaint and simply adorable! We had 4 people stay for a girls trip, but we could've easily had several more! The cottage is in a great location with a coffee shop right next door, pizza and ice cream just down the street, and a park right behind! We even got to watch a baseball game at the park during our stay! We would definitely stay here again!

This was the fourth year my family has stayed at the Stone Cottage Inn, and we're already booked for next year. Perfect number of bedrooms and bathrooms for eight of us. The rustic charm is definitely its selling point. We love staying here and hope to continue for years to come.

The historic stone cottage was a wonderful choice for our stay in Winesburg, OH. The renovation of this vintage home from 1834 was done with incredible care and thought. The furnishings and mattresses were very comfortable. We didn't use the sofa beds, but the sofas were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed sitting on the back porch at the end of the day. Thank you, Emily for stocking the coffee pod holder and the washing machine soap basket. These things were needed and very helpful. We hope to stay here again someday!

The cottage is clean, well decorated and nicely appointed. It had everything we needed. There is a section of the yard that is fenced which worked well for our dogs. It is a unique experience to see the old stonework and the progression of the restoration in the photo album. This place has been well loved. The cafe next door has good food and hot and cold drinks definitely worth visiting.

If you are making a trip to Holmes County and surrounding areas…this charming cottage is awesome. The location is great. This cottage was built in the 1800’s and the remodeling that had been done is incredible (be sure to check out the book with the before pictures). The kitchen is well stocked with more than the necessities. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We were not prepared for this house to be so special. We knew it got great reviews, but it exceeded our expectations. I have never been in a more well-appointed vacation home - from baskets of blankets, books and games to a kitchenaid mixer! And that doesn't even take into account the historic beauty of this home. Pictures don't do it justice. It was the perfect backdrop to a very special time for our family to be together. It was so clean and so well stocked. Quiet, beautiful and the street and surrounding town is just charming and wonderful. A secure dog run in the back yard was well maintained and we wished our stay could hae been longer! The furniture was as comfortable as it was beautiful and the fireplace was a charming touch.

The Stone Cottage is absolutely charming. My son and daughter in law both had to work one day, so the basement worked out beautifully. The loft and rooms were all cozy and comfortable. Kitchen was equipped abundantly. The location next to Beacon Cafe was amazing, food was so good. Whitmers General Store with pizza and various entrees was a 3 minute walk down the quaint road. As a frequent visitor to Amish country I was looking for a new experience and Stone Cottage was a gem of a find. I will definitely be back!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful home

The house was perfect for our family trip! The basement was a nice surprise. The only negative I could possibly say is that there were dirty sheets on the sofa bed. When we went to change them and got clean sheets from the chest, the clean sheets were stained as well. Thankfully, there was a washer and dryer available with detergent. The house was well equipped and so beautifully decorated. We loved having the fenced area for our dogs. It was a perfect getaway. I would be heartbroken to have to stay anywhere else!

First impressions: the stone cottage was absolutely beautiful! It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated for the fall season, and with every amenity anyone could want. My husband and I have traveled north to south, east to west, and back again but have never stayed in a vacation rental as nice as the stone cottage. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The cottage could not have been any more charming. All the details made this feel like the perfect fall getaway. Pumpkins, gourds, and mums in the window boxes and landscaping and fall decorations made the cottage feel like the setting for a Hallmark movie. The furniture was comfortable and space was cozy. The vibe of the cottage provided that Amish trip getaway feel we were seeking. We took advantage of the adorable coffee shop next door, The Beacon Cafe, for breakfast and walked down the street to the General Store, with homemade pizzeria. Yum. The location was only a 10 minute drive to the shopping in Berlin. When at the cottage, we played games and even got to watch softball games out the back windows (or covered patio) - the Amish girls in their bonnets and skirts. All in all...the PERFECT weekend. We plan to return again!!! To note, the home was very clean and the hosts thoughtful. The beds were comfortable and blankets/linens were plentiful. There was a variety of coffee singles to choose from and plenty of menus and books to research the area.

The house advertises as peaceful. It is not. It is 100 feet from a major truck route with semis, muscle cars, motorcycles and loud regular trucks passing by the front of the house. There is also an outside dog kennel next door. The dogs started barking at 3:45 and 4:45 waking us up. You could not sit on the cute screened in porch because of the noise. We asked for a partial refund but was denied. We need a vacation from our vacation.
