Peaceful lake retreat

It was a great home away from home while out of town for work.

Was a nice quiet place to spend my birthday weekend with my fiance. Everything was just perfect. The host left a goodie basket which was awesome. Will definitely consider coming back!

Beautiful home on a quiet lane on the lake. The home was stocked with anything we may have needed, including a basket of goodies by the front door! The home is located near local restaurants and grocery stores. It was a wonderful weekend getaway for my husband and I!

The inside of the home was great. Up to date, clean, comfortable beds, everything functioned well. The only cons of the house were the outside. As described, this home has no lake access. But what I didn't realize is that there is no public access near the house either. So unless you know someone on the lake, which we did thankfully, you can't really access the lake (there's a public boat launch but no swimming there either). And while you can see the lake in between the other houses that front the lake, the outdoor space could use some work. You have to access by going into the garage and then to the backyard. And the patio itself is weedy with 4 pretty worn slingback stackable chairs and a makeshift fire circle. We absolutely sat outside and drank our morning coffee there, it just wasn't a very inviting space. Overall the place suited our needs because I have a relative nearby who is on the lake and we just needed extra beds and a bathroom, so this place delivered! For travelers who are looking for a true vacation property, this might not be the best fit for you.

My husband and I really enjoyed this cozy, newly renovated house. It is perfectly located near Coldwater lake, which is where we put our boat in. The owner was very understanding of the unfortunate jam we got into with some truck problems prior to our visit. We highly suggest staying here!

We loved everything about this place. Small but big enough. It had everything we needed to stay and cook meals and just relax in quiet. Close but far enough from family we were visiting that they didn’t try to pop over uninvited. Calming for my autistic adult son who gets overwhelmed by our very loving, happy and loud in laws. The couches fit us all comfortably to watch a movie together. Loved that anything I thought and did forget from home was available in the rental. Thank you! We walked the neighborhood and felt its welcome and friendliness. Important for travelers of color. A slight suggestion to upgrade the chairs or add a different eating arrangement (round table possibly) so that four can eat together. Our family is big on that and that is the ONLY thing I would change. Otherwise great place. Thanks again!

As advertised. Clean and spacious

Clean, stocked with what was needed to cook. The view of the lake from the house was nice; to access water we went across the lake to the park. The back yard was especially nice for the children to play in. The neighborhood seemed quiet. Our event was in Hillsdale so the drive was long.
