Relax down beautiful Fort Morgan in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This cottage is located in The Rookery community, 15 miles west of Gulf Shores just past the 6-mile marker. Park in front of the cottage and go right inside to enjoy peace and tranquility.
The Rookery offers two saltwater pools (the larger of the two is a zero entry), a hot tub, a tennis court and grilling area. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge borders the community, a bird watcher’s paradise. Enjoy easy access to the white, sandy beach across the street (.4 miles). Take the ferry over to Dauphin Island and visit Fort Gaines & the Sea Lab Estuary. Explore any of the three marked Bon Secour trails, all within ten minute drives.
The Space:
The screened in porch is a great way to start or end your day while on vacation. The cottage offers a keyless lock entry, wireless internet and satellite. The living area offers a sleeper sofa, 2 arm-chairs, and a 50” television. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware, utensils and appliances – regular coffee brewer but also a Keurig. The dining area has seating for 6 at the table and 3 bar stools at the island.
The main bedroom offers a Queen Bed, a 50" television and private bath with tub/shower combination. Bedroom 2 has a Queen Bed with shiplap walls, reading lights over the bed, & a television. Bedroom 3 offers queen bed and television. The two guest bedrooms share a full bath with a tub/shower combination. A full-size washer and dryer is in the cottage for your use.
Enjoy the 120 square foot outdoor patio that includes: a charcoal grill, landscape lighting, a foot wash and a storage box for the beach toys and more!
Guest Access:
The complex DOES require parking passes. The complex charges $25/parking pass and limits two vehicles per condo.
Your parking passes will be on the counter in the kitchen upon arrival. Fill this out COMPLETELY and place it VISIBLY in your vehicle's dashboard.
You must be at least 25 to rent at The Rookery. No parking of RV's, buses, trailers or watercraft onsite.
The Neighborhood:
The area offers top rated golf courses including The Peninsula and Kiva Dunes. Six miles west from the cottage is Fort Morgan State Historic Site. Restaurants in the area include Fort Morgan Pizza, Tacky Jacks, Sassy Bass Amazin’ Grill. Take the day to explore Gulf Shores or head 14 miles east to Hwy 59 where you can find a variety of restaurants, shopping, and activities for everyone in the group!
Getting Around:
Public beach access is located half-mile from The Rookery. Take a right on Fort Morgan Road when leaving the Rookery and then take the first left onto Cortez Street. The beach is located ahead of you down the street.
Other Things to Note:
There is a pool key/fob is located on a keyring. Use this during your stay! You must return it or the HOA charges $100 to replace.
There is an active Ring doorbell camera on the entranceway door.
