My wife and I absolutely loved our weeklong stay at this wonderful cottage! It's even better than described.... the cottage is very cozy and the views are incredible. Great location for exploring the area. Can't say enough good things about it and our stay here - everything was perfect! Hope to return again. Thanks!
This girls trip was fantastic! Mills cottage is in a central location for everything we wanted to visit. The view out into the bay was awesome, each mornings sunrise was breath taking. One thing to keep in mind if you plan to visit Maine is that they do not have plastic or paper bags at stores without a fee, so bring in you own! Thank you Doreen for offering up such a wonderful and beautiful place.
Lovely cottage with amazing view! Super clean and equipped with everything you might need on vacation. Perfectly located as well!
A very quiet location early October-nature and views. Not too many folks around in surrounding cottages, just here and there. Fantastic! Doreen responded to our texts. The cottage was spotless. My 4th VRBO and the cleanest. Nice and bright. Comfy furniture throughout including deck. loved the gas heater downstairs. Also small one upstairs if needed. Very well equipped. Even the outlets were in easily accessible places. Many practical things throughout cottage. Nice ocean views from everywhere but front bedroom (small and adorable). The upstairs was ideal. We didn't have pets but saw doggie supplies. My first time kayaking (bucket list) but the local kayak fella was closed for the season. So grateful that Mitch from Midcoast Kayak supplied us for the week with kayaks/vests/whistles including delivery from Damariscotta! Gave us tips and demos and had us demo back for safety. Very appreciative. There are 2 sets of stairs to little sandy beach areas when tide is out. Very manageable for 2 people to bring kayaks down the steps and set out from the cottage into Very nice place to stay and hope to return. Thank you
Great location, great cottage, great host…!
The pictures do not reflect the feeling that this place offers you. Close to everything yet a private and peaceful setting. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped .A perfect place to unwind and recharged. We have already booked for next year.Doreen was an amazing host with quick responses .
What a great place. Pictures do not do it justice. The owner was pleasant and accommodating. Had everything we needed.
We had a wonderful week at Mils cottage. Despite some rain and fog, the birds were spectacular and we had a great time. This was my second visit and it was even better than my first...
We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint little cabin. The location was perfect. Close to town, and easy to get to the main highway for day trips, yet peaceful with a beautiful view right off the deck. The shoreline out front has a nice sandy beach, as well a rocky shoreline which made searching for sea glass quite fun. Doreen, the property owner was attentive and quick to respond to questions. We felt very welcomed. Our only drawback was the absence of internet service in the area....but not a deal breaker. It was kind of nice to be off the grid and enjoying nature for awhile. If you are looking for a quiet spot with a beautiful view.....this is it.
Our husband and I loved our week-long stay at the cottage. The place was adorable, the beds comfortable and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Doreen was an excellent host and communication was easy. The view was incredible and the neighborhood quiet and so relaxing! We spent our days exploring the low tide and our evenings on the comfy deck. We rented kayaks for the week from Duck Trap Kayaks and Dan was great! We couldn't ask for a better anniversary week!!
This is our second time at Mills cottage and enjoyed the property and location very much. The stairs to the beach are just steps from the back deck. The beach area is like a private little sandy oasis. You step onto soft sand and as you walk to the waters edge at low tide you are welcomed by a mix of sand, small and large beach stones and sea glass that shows itself with each changing tide all surrounded by giant boulders that beckon to kids to be scaled. To the left and right of the property you can walk along the shore which has endless little areas to explore. We saw crabs, hermit crabs, small fish and snails. It is a wonderful place to launch your kayak, swim at high tide or sit in a beach chair with your feet in the warm sand with a good book. Many days we just stayed put and enjoyed the beach, changing tides, corner couch on the deck or Adirondack chairs. There was always a place outside that was comfortable. This trip was less stressful as the kids are older (9&12) vs a few years ago. I was on edge watching them jump around the boulders like little mountain goats. Something to keep in mind if you have little ones. The cottage was clean and had a nice set up for the 4 of us. The outside entrance was only an issue when the kids and I were upstairs during a heavy rain and thunderstorm and couldn’t easily go downstairs without getting drenched and trying to time the lightning. If they were a little older I’d feel ok with both of them upstairs but didn’t want my youngest coming down the stairs at night if he needed something. The cottage is minutes from Rockland, Owls Head lighthouse, Birch point beach and close to Camden, Mt. Battie, Tenants Harbor and many great restaurants. We’ve been coming to the area for 20 years and absolutely love it. Thank you to the Mills family for sharing this special place!
We spent one week at Mill's cottage and wished we could have spent the entire summer there. It was that great. The cottage is decorated with a nautical theme and could not be more cozy. The cottage was extremely clean and prepared for guests. Doreen, the host, had prepared an information book covering local restaurants, stores and the history of the cottage and the surrounding area. Doreen is a very thoughtful host who has gone the extra yard to ensure that guests enjoy their stay in the cottage. The view of the water from the deck cannot be beat. We totally recommend this property.
What a lovely and cozy cottage to stay in during our trip to Maine. Doreen is wonderful and the thoughtful touches were very much appreciated. We loved the charming coastal decor and wait till you have your coffee or tea on the deck! We loved it! Thank you Doreen. See you next year.
