Close to the head of Batson Creek, near Salcombe, this rural property sleeps accommodates five people in three bedrooms.

Orchard Barn is in a quiet rural position, close to the head of Batson Creek, and about a 15 minute walk to the shops and quayside in Salcombe. The property accommodates five people in three bedrooms (one master en suite double, one double and one single), and has a family bathroom and cloakroom. There is also a lounge with open fire, and kitchen with dining area. Outside is a rear courtyard with furnished patio, and parking for three cars. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat within easy reach of Salcombe’s amenities, this could be the perfect accommodation. Please note there is currently no wifi at the property (from September 2025)

New for 2024 The owner has replaced all of the Sofas and chairs in the lounge along with the lounge carpet. They have also replaced the 2 King size beds.

Town: Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

    Dated, grubby. Not sure what the extra time between check out and check in is being spent on but it’s certainly not cleaning. The good - location, plenty of hot water. The bad - had to spend the first hour cleaning, carpets covered in bits, dirty marks on the walls, splash marks all over the side of the fridge and walls behind kitchen bin, overflow dripping over front door. Dyson doesn’t work, just two dirty j-cloths left under sink. Sorry we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave the property as we found it so should now be in a better state than when we first arrived. Kitchen has lots of cupboard space but they are filled with useless stuff so very little room for own groceries. Lots of mismatched and chipped crockery. Next door did fix the overflow but where they had been in the loft the carpet was covered in bits again when we got back.
