Stayed Jan 1, 1Great location but this place is tiny. Set up for a family of four (4 beds) but there isn't even enough room for 4 people to sit around a table for breakfast. And the kitchen area is also tiny and quite impractical. Probs work well for a couple, but we struggled as a family of four (and we are all pretty small!) for four days.

Stayed Jan 1, 1The flower lined walkway down to the cottage is gorgeous. The cottage is a bit more spacious than the photos suggest especially the bedrooms. The mattress on the Kingsize bed ensures a good nights sleep. Lovely crockery and cutlery to eat from too. It’s right in the heart of Deal, an easy walk to the beach, pier, shops and restaurants, with a couple of traditional pubs just around the corner. We had a great few days here and our teenager and doggy enjoyed themselves too.

Stayed Jan 1, 1A lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and with everything you could need for a holiday cottage. Fantastic location, a very short walk to the sea front and the centre of Deal, down a beautiful little side alley. We stayed just outside of main holiday season and had no trouble finding free on street parking a short walk away. The stairs in the cottage are very steep but it wasn't an issue for us.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Cottage is charming and has everything you need. Beds were comfy and clean, bathroom suite was spotless but the windows had black mold and it was generally run down and damp. It is in a great location and parking etc was very easy. Other than the bathroom it was a nice stay.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We had a lovely time at Old Chelsea. The quiet side street off Middle Street is beautifully kept by one of the other residents, with flower pots everywhere. The cottage is ideal for a couple or small family. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need for any meal preparation. Everything worked well. The king size bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable, lovely bedding and very clean. We slept well every night. The bunk bed in the other room was large and looked very comfy too. Plenty of pillows and blankets. My only criticisms would be that the drainage could do with a bit of attention. The small sink in the kitchen was almost totally blocked and water took an age to drain away. Needs properly unblocked. The drain in the shower is also getting a bit slow, probably due to a build up of hair, so could probably do with some deep cleaning too. The central heating boiler is in the main bedroom and if the heating comes on the pipes make quite a bit of noise. Thankfully I was able to turn the heating off on the thermostat downstairs but this might be a problem in winter if you're trying to sleep with the heating on. Also - anyone over 6 foot needs to be careful with some of the doorways which are quite low, as well as in the shower. Some clearer instruction on the recycling and food waste would be nice, but apart from that we loved our stay.

Stayed Jan 1, 1The most quaint beautiful spot surrounded by plants as as you walk off historic middle street down the passage to the cottage - a little haven where I’d watch magpies build nests through the half open stable door of the cottage. Every morning I’d walk the 2 mins to the beach and watch the sunrise (even at that time there were always a few locals already up, swimming in the sea or walking dogs) I was born and raised in Deal until I was 18 but haven’t been back a lot in recent years. This trip and the cottage made me fall back in love with my home town in a brand new way. Really special

Stayed Jan 1, 1Very nice cosy little cottage though a bit small for 4. Well located and easier to drop off in Middle Street than we expected. Pub virtually next door. Most enjoyable stay

Stayed Jan 1, 1Very disappointed with this cottage, I have stayed in keepers cottages before, and not had any such issues. The cleanliness of this property on the whole was way below standard regarding all areas, oven trays, rugs all needed deep cleaning. Outside of the property and small courtyard need’s intense makeover. There was also an open plug socket behind the sofa, this should have been dealt with. The one positive thing I can take from the stay, was the customer service, Amy was very helpful and attentive and got the boiler issue sorted, while also keeping us informed and offering help via a cleaner, but we declined the cleaner as I had gone out to buy cleaning materials and we had cleaned the property ourselves , the plumber was also a very polite and helpful young man, I may also mention that we were offered a small compensation from Phoebe which we accepted.

Stayed Jan 1, 1A small quirky cottage in the heart of Deal. Comfortable and clean - though behind the sofa it was very dirty and loose wires from an unused telephone socket. Basic and small bathroom. Small but well equipped kitchen. Nice welcome pack- thank you. Unfortunately I broke my ankle when we arrived falling down the steps outside the bathroom - I note in the visitors book someone else had fallen - they need marking up please. I am young and fit so would be concerned for those who are less able. Lovely clean comfy bedrooms Quiet location was perfect We were told we would get a bag of logs - we got a bundle of kindling only. Disappointing.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We liked our stay in the Old Chelsea in Deal, but regretted that we couldn’t really eat together as a family because there were only two rather uncomfortable chairs and one small table that wasn’t really suitable as a dining table. We didn’t sit outside either because the cushions were rather dirty and not very inviting and added to that the tiny outside space was the only place to leave the rubbish bins. So we didn’t want to sit there surrounded by our own rubbish. The cottage is cute but the ground floor living space was quite dark and lacked good lighting. The cottage has little space and is too cold to dry clothes or wet towels so we definitely needed the laundry dryer. Another downside was that the bathroom was on the ground floor and not on the same floor as the bedrooms. We hadn’t been aware of that when we booked the cottage.
