Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were looking for a quiet place to stay where we could explore some of Spain's picturesque countryside. Gaztelubidea in the charming village of Bernedo provided an ideal accommodation. Our two children loved their twin bedroom with the little mezzanine area above, the beds were super comfortable, the bedlinen and towels were of great quality, the washing machine and tumble dryer both modern and working well, and the dishwasher (with dishwasher tablets) was an added bonus! The house was so well provisioned, it really was a home from home! There is a good parking area right outside the house, and Marga kindly offered space in a barn to store our bicycles. Marga proved to be the ideal landlady. She was completely flexible with our arrival time, helpful with recommendations on activities in the area, and provided the right amount of support. Our Spanish is not too good but we had lots of fun making great use of translation apps to communicate both ways! The village swimming pool 5 minutes away was a definite highlight for the children - such a great facility for a small village! In the few days were were there, we had a lovely time exploring the region, its villages and vineyards both on foot and on bicycle (there are some great flat trails for the children). A splendid area, a lovely accommodation and a wonderful hostess.
