Ocracoke Island: Beautiful cottage in the village

Cute house in a quiet spot. Close to Stores and sights, though many were closed during our March stay.

This place is perfect. The location was conveniently located and we rented a golf cart to get around. There were plenty of places to sit and relax. The house is so nicely decorated and the owner’s have plenty of what you need in the kitchen. We loved the place!

We 6 mature ladies couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our Ocracoke getaway!! First of all, our hosts were so helpful in every way and accommodating when we begged to stay a second night! Communication with them was excellent. Wish we could've stayed all week! Everything was just perfect about this gorgeous vacation home. The outdoor shower...Heavenly!!! Comfortable beds and pillows!! Very clean, neat and orderly! A well-stocked kitchen!! The perfect location as far as being near the ferry, yet so close to many awesome restaurants and places to explore with our super cool golf cart. The screened in sunroom was a great place to have cocktails and play games late afternoon. The furniture was pretty and very comfortable. I'm sure the TV was nice, but we never turned it on lol. 2 awesome hammocks. Lots of games and puzzles. Such a happy place to spend our time together. We are already plotting our next visit to this beautiful and peaceful home. Many, many thanks for helping us make heartwarming forever memories with the best of friends!!:)

Great little house by the ferry. Within walking distance to hot spots like Smacnally’s, the community dock, Village Craftsman, and Books to be Red.

It was very difficult to find with a GPS.The Bath tub water needs alot of help. It was VERY hard to turn off.No info about how to lock when leavingWe liked all the rest very much for our stay. An would recommend to others

Gorgous property

We loved this cozy cottage with wonderful porches. Sofas and beds were comfy. The cottage is an easy walk to nearby restaurants. The beaches were absolutely beautiful in October and we took a wonderful sunset sailing cruise. We plan to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We especially appreciated that the cottage was accessible for my friend who has mobility issues. The screened in spaces allowed us to enjoy the sea air without the mosquitos. The kitchen is small but functional.

Really a perfect cottage tucked away and quiet. Everything was as expected.

Awesome Little House By The House!

We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage's screened-in porch and walking to the nearby local establishments. This was our first time visiting Ocracoke, and the Little House by the Ferry allowed us to enjoy nearly every aspect that the island had to offer. We plan to return soon!

Great place to relax. The back porch is private, shaded and a perfect place to chill. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive. The house is private, but close to everything. You can walk to shops and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked.

We loved the cottage with surrounding trees. The weather was lovely, so we could leave doors open to feel natural cool breezes! Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Host answered questions about the surrounding area. One thing I noticed is that the front screen door needs some repair work. Also, it is difficult to turn cold water tap off in shower. Overall, we give the cottage a A rating. We’d like to stay there again!

Loved every minute of our week!

This was my families first stay in Ocracoke and we loved the home and island! We stayed for one week and will definitely be back in the future. This home is perfectly located close to the sound. We loved the yard, hammocks, and screened in porch.

This charming house is tucked away on a quiet lane, yet convenient to all the fun. Bikes are provided to aid in exploration. It is easy to stroll to see a sunset over the sound. Terrific getaway

It was easy to find the house when arriving. The house was even nicer in person. The list of suggestions given to us by host made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

This is an idyllic property and the perfect place to stay to experience Ocracoke Island. We had a great time and were sad to leave.

Lovely visit

We stayed at The Little House by the Ferry for Spring Break and had a really nice time. The house was the beach cottage feel we expected from the description. The location was walkable or easy to access via golf cart any of the island but in a quiet area without foot or vehicle traffic. Our stay was cut short due to a death in the family but we enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated Marshall’s instructions and help when needed.

We have stayed at a few ocracoke properties this one is now our favorite. Perfect for our family of four! The screened in porch is a must for Ocracoke and we enjoyed most of our time there.

A quick trip to introduce Ocracoke to family who moved to North Carolina two years ago. They had never been to the Outer Banks.

Little House by the Ferry was exactly as described. We wanted a weekend holiday get-away in the off-season and this trip hit the mark. The cottage is as shown in the photos and description. Since it was off-season and only a few on-island amenities were open, it was nice to have the little kitchen details like coffee filters, salt, pepper, etc. The cottage is in a very quiet area and easy walking distance to most places. Morning coffee on the screened porch with bird watching and lazy naps in the afternoon in the porch hammock. It is near a camp ground, which did not have any visitors at the time we stayed.

Quiet, clean place within walking distance to everything. We would come here again.

Couldn’t access internet for several days and several areas need repair with broken windows and rot. Outside also needs repair and updating.

The house is tastefully decorated. Very convenient with everything you need including equipment to enjoy the beach. Very private and location is great. We love to stay here . This is our second stay here and plan to return next year.

This is a great house but the description does not adequately say you must provide your own towels AND sheets. Dampened an otherwise great stay. There were a couple of beach towels .

We had a wonderful stay at Marsh's cottage on Ocracoke and he was an excellent and generous host. The home was as advertised, with comfortable space for the four of us to visit for two nights. As requested, we brought our own sheets and towels, and while we did have a little trouble following the directions to the cottage, once settled we appreciated the location for its proximity to the ferry from Cedar Island and the village. It was lovely there in mid-October, warm enough but not hot as in the busy season. We found great restaurants and enjoyed the beach and other attractions. A relaxed and friendly setting and since we needed only two of the four bedrooms, we had the extra rooms for storing our luggage. Marsh was very responsive when we needed guidance and truly went beyond the call of duty.

My grandsons absolutely loved this place. Plan on returning. The whole island is amazing!

Had a wonderful time with my family. So peaceful, perfectly tucked away and convenient to everything. Can’t wait to rebook for next year 😎👍

Nice cottage, very close to Ocracoke ferry and attractions but on a quiet street hidden away from the traffic.
