The view of the ocean was awesome. It was very quiet except for the sound of the surf which we loved.

A beautiful property. House was very clean and the views were amazing. Well stocked with household necessities. Bathroom was quite small and somewhat hazardous for taller people with a sloped ceiling that was challenging. Hot tub was not as hot as we would have liked and we were unable to adjust the temperature. Minor issues with ants. Overall a great stay.

Fox Kit evaluation.Positives; exquisite gardens front and back. Amazing cypress tree. Clean and well -organized kitchen and well-appointed home. Amazing view and lovely beach to walk.Negatives; small and low-ceiling bathroom. Front porch could use chaise lounge chairs and outdoor fan as flies were quite a bother. Hot tub temp was good but too much chlorine. TV difficult to use. Wanted to play some videos but no direction on how to use the video player. Master bedroom better placed in front of home for view and sound of the ocean.Overall, a positive experience but room for improvement on the conveniences. Change cleaner solution from Pinesol. Took hours to air the place out.

Our stay at Fox Kit Cottage in March was exceptional! The house was clean, well equipped and perfect for a girls’ weekend getaway. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the surf looking for migrating whales. The hot tub was a great way to relax after spending the day in Wine Country or hiking at Armstrong Woods. Our host, Beth, was very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. Loved the beach access from Duncan’s Landing and the landscaping around the house was amazing! I would definitely recommend Fox Kit Cottage without any reservations and only wish I lived closer so I could come back again soon!!

We feel so lucky that we were able to stay in this beautiful cottage by the sea (FoxKit Cottage!) for 3 nights. The beauty of the area and the sea just enveloped us while we were in the cottage. We were always excited to get back to our little oasis after a long day out! Beth, the host was so warm and made sure we knew that she was easily available just in case. The directions, internet and access were a breeze. The location of this gem was perfect! We hiked Shell beach to Goat rock nearby then enjoyed a quick drive into cut Guerneville to view and smell the Redwoods at Armstrong Nature reserve. It was super close to Jenner where we kayaked the Russian River along side seals and viewed Bald Eagles leaving their nests in the trees on the banks. Sebastopol and Healdsburg are also w/in easy reach for wine country and beautiful town shopping experiences. The place is well appointed, modern which made it so very easy to enjoy our travel. The hot tub was such a nice amenity! And the gardens… unbelievable!!!We highly recommend this gorgeous little place. It absolutely added to and was a huge piece of the amazing trip we experienced. View was great. No direct access to the beach. Hot tub didn’t work properly and was dirty. Not enough towels and baking sheet

Easy to find. The views from the balcony are amazing! Only issue we had was the deck paint is peeling and would stick to your feet. Walk to the beach was nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax in Bodega. Make sure you eat at The Fishetarian and the sandwiches at Pelican Plaza are awesome.

This was our 2nd time at this property. The house was neat and clean, perfect space for a small family. Great location, near many beaches and also close to town, and you cannot beat the view. There was a couple maintenance issues that were in the process of being repaired, but Beth the host was very accommodating to us and made our stay even better. We will definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful cottage. The view is from the yard, and looking through the windows of the back of the house, as well as on the deck are amazing. The kitchen is well stocked, and the beds are really comfortable. Others have commented about the slanted ceiling in the bathroom. Unless one is spending an extended amount of time in front of the mirror, the bathroom was just fine. A really nice shower and updated fixtures. We loved our stay!

The views are simply stunning. We loved the property and the deck so much. The bathroom was a little smaller than we were expecting, as a taller couple, it was a little difficult to get ready. I also understand conserving energy, but man it took like 2 hours to fully warm up after our long drive from SFO in November. Overall, we want to come back and cannot get over how beautiful the views are.

The location of this property is wonderful however, it is infested with fruit flies. I honestly can not recommend staying here u til the property manager takes care of the issue. I understand homes have bugs but I probably disposed of 50 fruit flies and there were more when we left. I notifes the property manager of the issue as soon as we got there and they recommended using bug spray. I am sorry but I should not be the one to be cleaning your house, especially given the cleaning fee we were charged.Other things to note:- bedroom/wall heaters do not work. The onlyt heater in the house is the living room fireplace. While this is nice, it takes anout 4 hours to notice a difference theough out the home.- bed sheets had stains from previos guests.- the oven had diety pans inside from previous guest.- hot tub had left over/used towels from previous guest.-response time for property manger is slow.While the view is incredible and only 10 minutes from the main drag of bodega bay, the pros do not out weight the cons. I would not recommend or stay here again until the property owner gets the bug issue resolved. I can deal with the other issues but trying to cook/eat dinner and finding fruit flies in eberything is in excusible, especially when you ask me to take care of the issue for you when charging a cleaning fee.I h ighly suggest the property owner find a different cleaning crew.

Our stay was actually canceled due to a malfunction the property experienced a couple days prior to our travel. We were given a full refund, however, With that perspective And having booked this location several months in advance with very much excitement for the whole family, disappointed that even in the aftermath, while the owners and manager presumably resolved the issue, there was no follow up to invite us to return to the property or other gesture to acknowledge our own situation. For instance, our son was devastated that he wasn’t gonna get to sleep on the bunkbeds after telling everybody for months about it. Even just advice about finding another place to stay on short notice would have helped

Beautiful place and seems like they have thought of everything that is needed for a nice stay. Views are AMAZING. I look forward to booking again.

This a great place to stay, the house is clean, has a beautiful ocean view and is walking distance from the beach. The house is fully equipped with everything you need, even lotion, shampoo etc.

This cottage offered a very peaceful stay. The yard is well manicured and the view is absolutely stunning.The kitchen is equipped and nice to cook in with a beautiful pine tree out the window. The gas fireplace warms the home well and offers a cozy feel. The bedrooms are inviting and the beds are very comfortable. The wifi was uninterrupted and streaming was easy.

This was our second time to FoxKit Cottage. Whale watching from the deck was epic this time around. Beautiful walks on the beach with harbor seals keeping an eye on you. Sunset and the views are priceless. Quiet, Peaceful, & Cozy!

Perfect getaway and the hot tub was a hit.

This is one of the cleaner and prettiest places we have stayed in the area. The kitchen had all the things we needed for a home away from home. My only advice to those thinking of a stay is to bring eye masks for sleeping- there is a skylight right above the master bed and the sun rises early! Also, the bathroom sink is a bit of a challenge- very high with a very low ceiling. But for a few days it works.

This property is in a great location located on the ocean in bodega Bay. Great ocean views, gardens, very clean property 12 minutes from restaurants hiking trails everywhere. We had a wonderful stay.

This location is a perfect place to just relax and take in the beauty of the California coast.

My partner and I went up to get away and relax for a few days. Coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean in the morning, wine in the hot tub in the afternoon, and cuddles watching the sunset. Perfect way to spend each day.

My husband and I were excited to drive up to this enchanting little home. The beautiful gardens welcomed us to a cozy, clean home with beautiful views of the beach below. We enjoyed the evening sunsets in the large hot tub on the back deck. The bed was very comfortable, linens were quality and towels were plush. We will be back! A happy couple on a birthday getaway

Place is quaint and darling. The gardens are beautiful; the view and sunset are breathtaking.

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our time immensely. We loved watching the sunset from the hot tub. There were so many beaches close by to drive to, as well as the main town. Property was just as described and owner was quick to respond to any messages. My children also enjoyed the movie selection in the living room. We would definitely return!

Every year my sister's and I have a getaway weekend and this one was our very favorite stay ever!The home is so beautiful and welcoming. The pictures don't give the views justice, they are better than any other in the area.The hot tub was large and clean and with the giant deck, made for a great way for us all to pick our favorite spots.We will be renting this home here again, and again.

Our third stay and first time booking three nights which seems to be the sweet spot for an extended weekend since you get two full days to relax along the coast. Already can't wait to book our next visit to this charming property!

We came for my fiancés birthday and stayed 2 1/2 days. We spoke with the property manager right before our arrival. She was super helpful and courteous. When we came in the home we found it just perfect for the four of us. It was super clean and comfy. We strolled down to the beach several times throughout our stay, and With the hot tub on the deck overlooking the ocean it was a perfect relaxing little Birthday get away. The sunsets were the icing on the cake!

Overall we loved our stay here. The home is very comfortable and clean, the view is spectacular, and the area is an absolutely gorgeous place to vacation. It was everything we wanted. I commend the host for such comfortable bedding too. I will mention a few things for future renters to be aware of, and maybe a couple of suggestions for the host: we arrived to area later in the evening. All local grocery stores close at 7, so we couldn’t grab some essentials before heading to the house. We were devastated to learn upon arrival that there was no coffee. I’ve stayed in quite a few short term rentals and they ALWAYS have coffee. I’ve also come to expect a little basket of snacks. It’s just a nicety. Also, there is no cell service in this area. The check-in information didn’t warn us to pre-download a map and to have the check-in code available. The instructions DO SAY “write the code down” but not “write down the code, you won’t have cell service.” So I honestly didn’t put that together. Luckily I somehow managed to remember the code. There is no street lighting or outside lighting to the house, so parking was tricky (there’s a very narrow strip in front of the house for parking—no driveway). Once inside it was SO COLD. The heating system should be turned on before guests arrive. It took hours to warm up. The hot tub is very nice and we would’ve enjoyed it immensely, but this is an EXTREMELY windy location, so that impeded enjoyment somewhat. No beach access. And ants.

Wonder views and a lovely house

Small side it is perfect for bringing a midsize Family total number four. You is amazing perfect while soaking in the hot tub, your view and sound of the ocean is exceptional. Using the TV was a bit frustrating as you have to use your own login information to stream Apps. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, which was helpful. Plenty of things to do around town, including beautiful walks on the beach. And I. Wood. And would return again.

The house location and view were fantastic. The appliances and sinks and faucets were all very nice. I have never encountered pop out electrical receptacles before. There are some low ceilings in the bathroom, kids bedroom and the television room. But these are easily managed. The morning of our 3rd day we had ants on the counter next to the sink. Interesting, because there was never any food there. But they were quickly dispatched. The hot tub was fantastic. What a view overlooking the beach. I will definitely be returning to this house for another stay.

Foxkit cottage was very welcoming, relaxing, and perfectly curated to be both beautiful and comfortable. The hosts thought of everything that would be needed to make this little oasis a home away from home. Now, the total showstopper was having the majestic ocean as the backdrop to such a lovely home. We could not get enough of the sound of the crashing waves, and the hot tub…icing on the cake! We had an absolutely wonderful time connecting as a family. We definitely plan to book again.

The views from this house are insane!

The cottage itself was lovely, with breathtaking ocean views that made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The home was well-maintained, and we appreciated the serene setting.However, our experience with the host was disappointing. Prior to our stay, I asked about the type of coffee maker available and was told there was only a Mr. Coffee, yet we arrived to find a Keurig in the kitchen. A minor issue, but it set the tone for the lack of accurate communication.The biggest letdown was the hot tub on the deck. It didn’t work, and when we reached out to the host, she was unable to provide any assistance. After our stay, I also let her know about a leak we noticed, only to receive a dismissive response stating that the next tenant had no issues with the hot tub—despite the extremely short turnaround time between guests, which left me wondering about the thoroughness of the cleaning process.While the location and cottage itself were wonderful, the host’s responsiveness and accuracy in communication left much to be desired. If you’re looking for an stress-free experience with an attentive host, this may not be the best choice.

Everything I wanted for a quick solo retreat. The home was spotless, well-appointed, cozy. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were fresh and new. The show-stopper is the view, of course, and the hot tub is the cherry on top. Highly recommend

Stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary. We loved it. Close to town and Bodega Head trails was breathtaking. We loved the hot tub! The views of the sunset and stars while enjoying the spa were worth the trip. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with spectacular views, this is the spot!!!

It was amazing, the property was as advertised. The only hiccup was when we arrived the property was not ready. A cleaning crew arrived but thought we were arriving the following day so we left for a couple of hours while they cleaned the property. With that being said I would highly recommend this location. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the ocean was breathtaking. I would definitely stay there again!
