You guys are amazing! We appreciate you allowing us a small gathering here. Ive been coming to maine since i was 12 with my grandmother. Bailey island was always a go to location she took us to. It was a wonderful and memorable week!!
We were very much looking forward to coffee and crashing waves in the red chairs and we were not disappointed. This property is a little slice of heaven on earth. It was perfect for our family of 3 to explore Bailey Island, Bath, and Boothbay Harbor. We hope to return one day. Thank you! ~P3 from GA~
Everything as advertised except stairs to climb and no dishwasher.
Great place overall. Well stocked with a sunrise & ocean view. Loved waking up and having my morning coffee in the red chairs. No better way to unwind and relax. Walking distance to the general store and the fishnet, a nice little diner. I would highly recommend…
We had been trying to vacation in Maine for awhile and finally were able to do it this year. We really loved this place because of how relaxing it was. My wife and I and our adult kids (and fiancé) stayed at the cottage and had plenty of room for all to enjoy. The cottage is solidly built, so we heard very little noise once we went to bed and the kids stayed up late. There are red Adirondack chairs for use by guests that are right at the ocean's edge. You could spend hours just sitting and listening to the waves while drinking wine or your choice of beverage. And you can hear the waves from your bedroom window as well, so relaxing! There is a public beach that is only a 1/4 mile walk from the cottage. Very nice beach and if you have a kayak or paddleboard you can use it there. Just not a lot of parking. The people of Bailey Island are so nice, we felt welcome by everyone, especially the cottage owners. They both grew up on the island and I believe the families go back several generations. If there is a need or need to know where something is located, they are very responsive and helpful with any questions. Favorite spots we went to other than the local beaches were Giant Stairs, Sundrenched Restaurant, Cook's Lobster and Ale House and Schoolhouse 1913. And the pizza at the General Store was surprisingly pretty good (I'm a bit of a pizza snob)! Day trips to Freeport (LL Bean and Main Beer) and Portland easy to do. We look forward to the next time we can go!
Quiet, peaceful location with ocean view.
We love Bailey Island and had such a great relaxing time at this beautiful property. The home is so comfortable and has everything you need. Great views of the ocean and so peaceful. Loved listening to the waves at night. Location is great and our hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Would definitely love to come back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our couple’s get away! We loved being with locals. We ate lots of lobster, shopped great art galleries, and hiked (locally and Acadia National Forest). The property is right on the water’s edge and bedroom windows open up to the Atlantic ocean breeze. It’s a little off of the freeway but well worth it. Recommend renting a car. Hosts were responsive and helpful! We look forward to returning.
Loved our stay and the beautiful view. The home had everything we needed and was decorated so nice. Thank you!
Great location, clean and modern home. Wonderful hosts. We love Baileys Island and this was a great rental that enhanced our experience.
Visiting Bailey Island is a special treat and this lovely cottage and the wonderful family who own it make a stay here magical. Imagine being steps from the ocean and your own private seating to watch the beauty of ocean life ebbing and flowing just feet from you! Imaging listening to the waves crashing to the shore every night, creating a lullaby that gives you a peaceful night of sleep and waking up refreshed! Imagine a host family that prepares a warm, welcoming and extremely clean cottage for you to enjoy. And meeting them validates your belief that there are still truly kind, hard working and thoughtful humans in this world. Imagine no more …. Just book this wonderful property.! We will be back many many times! Grateful for this family and their willingness to share their beautiful property.
Looks exactly like the pictures and was a perfect place to stay. The location is great if you want to spend a week exploring Maine as most places were within a 2 hour drive at most. Great place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy listening to the ocean as well. I hope I can come back again someday, would highly recommend
Very welcoming and comfortable. The view and property are lovely. Lots of room for two. A few minor details, as we cooked a lot. The kitchen could use a dish rack [ as there is no dishwasher] . The master bedroom mattress could use replacing.
Rental was spacious, immaculate, well stocked, quiet ,beautiful location by the ocean. Lots of walking trails, biking dangerous with no dedicated bike lanes.. We had a wonderful 5 days in this special , untouristy area of “ old time “ Maine.
This is a lovely little cottage with wonderful water views from the balcony and access to the waterfront just a stroll across the lawn. Very well appointed, comfortable, immaculate and a great location. Walk to Cedar Beach and the General Store, a few minutes to restaurants, Mackerel Cove, the Giant Stairs and Lands End. The only thing to keep in mind when planning is that the bathroom is only accessible through one of the bedrooms (this was not an issue for us). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this cottage!
The location of this property directly on the shoreline was terrific. Listening to and watching the ocean waves crashing on the rocky shore was very relaxing. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. The views from the 2nd floor deck were wonderful (the ocean during the day and the stars at night). The host family is friendly and helpful and we greatly enjoyed our stay! Hope to come back in the future.
Perfect Maine getaway. The house was stocked with everything we needed for yard games, beach outings, relaxing, and cooking. The property was beautiful and the walk to Cedar Beach was easy. The location is convenient to tons of small hikes and area sites. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
A VERY CLEAN and Well-maintained property. Unit is well equipped to meet your needs. Owners are available and respond to any questions about Bailey’s Island and surrounding area; they’re natives of the island. And yes, the red Adirondack chairs on the sea wall are the real deal. If asked, I’d unequivocally recommend this property
Immaculate property with every needed convince. Very kind owners who live on the property. Only downside long inconvienent walk to a tiny beach.
