I think we were the 1st tenants of the season, & it seemed owner wasn't quite ready for renters. Air conditioner on floor at ft of bed, open sleeping bag on bed. Problem with ants. But overall we had a very nice stay there.

These two cottages met our needs perfectly! When we arrived, the cottages were neat, clean and exactly as described & photographed in the ad. I fully appreciated no surprises upon arrival. The area was very quiet, private and peaceful and the neighbors I met were very nice people. Every morning, I walked to the lake (Ontario) shore and photographed the morning sun rising over the lake, as well as a few amazing sunsets. It took about one minute to walk to the shoreline. On a clear day, Toronto can be seen from the shore. By the end of our stay, I did not want to leave. I imagine it would be so peaceful and easy to stay at Windigo Cottages forever.

Quiet neighborhood and all the amenities needed for an enjoyable week. Large deck and guest cottage are extras not always found. We'll be back!

On the same day we requested to book the Windago Cottage, the owner called us stating he was pleased to receive our request. He shared with us a lot of information about the cottage and the Youngstown and Niagara Falls area. He followed up with an email which we referenced throughout the week while making our daily plans. Upon arrival we found the cottage to be just as pictured and described, neat, clean and homey. We had everything we needed to make us feel like we had our own little home away from home. On cool mornings, the gas heater warmed us up nicely while we ate our breakfast and got ready to leave for the day. We stored my husband's fishing gear and our empty suitcases in the guest cottage so we had plenty of room in the main cottage. As we got acclimated to the area, we realized how close we were not only to the Niagara Falls attractions and Canada, but also to the surrounding towns and all the wonderful home style restaurants and diners. The list of restaurants provided by the owner was helpful and we tried many of them during the week. We learned a lot of the area’s history when we went to Fort Niagara. We also found the history behind the Freedom Crossing and Tuscarora Monuments in Lewiston to be very interesting. We said to each other, more than once, that we were so happy we found the cottage and made the choice to stay there away from the hustle and bustle of the Niagara Falls area and the big hotels. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the privacy. The neighbors we met were friendly and helpful and beautiful Lake Ontario was just a stone's throw away. The property manager replied promptly to a phone message we left for him upon departure. Our vacation was wonderful and the weather cooperated. We did everything we wanted to do including taking in all of the usual tourist attractions and going to Canada. We had a lot of fun! We would stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to others.

perfect base for a recent trip home- close to Robert Moses made jaunts to the Falls and Buffalo very convenient, as well as Lewiston Art Park and Wine Trail. Location is quiet and comfy. took advantage of proximity to Fort Niagara for morning walks- walked 10 mi to Village of Lewiston and back along the river. would definitely return.

We always rent cabins instead of hotel rooms at vacation time, & we couldn't be more pleased with Windigo Cottage. The weekly rate fit right into our budget & there was plenty of room for our family of 5. (It's not always easy to find a place for more than 4 people!) The 'guest cottage' was a major selling point, our boys LOVED having their own house... us parents liked that too. The futon was comfortable for our daughter, and you KNOW a teenage girl won't hesitate to complain. We had enough room to unpack, and if you're like me & don't quite have a full week of favorite clothes, there is a laundromat about 5 minutes away. The cottage itself is well stocked, clean & comfortable. Plenty of seating for all of us, which is something else you don't always find. It really is only 15 minutes to all the Niagara Falls attractions, an easy drive & the only traffic we saw all week were the lines going over the bridges to Canada. Even Buffalo is only a little more than 30 minutes away. With such a convenient location & reasonable rate, you can't go wrong staying at Windigo Cottage.
