So charming, the pictures don’t do it justice. The location is ideal for exploring Charlottesville. You feel tucked away in the mountains while you’re only 5-20 minute from vineyards, trails, museums and restaurants. We’ll most definitely be back. A few friendly notes: 1) take your own fishing gear. It’s so fun, we caught a ton of little fish! 2) the downstairs is cold. Take extra heavy clothes to wear and slippers. It has a stone floor in the basement. 3) There aren’t night lights, if you have kids, pack your own. Definitely recommend!
We came up for a wedding and on our way up the host for the VRBO we had reserved (a month and a half ahead of time) canceled on us! I was in panic mode on the phone with VRBO customer service and immediately started looking for another house. We came across this listing and I messaged the host, she responded right away and worked with the VRBO people to get us In. They went above and beyond to help us out on such short notice! I recommend this cottage to everyone it is the cutest little cottage with beautiful scenery!
My husband, our 2 dogs, 4 friends, and myself recently had the pleasure of staying at this VRBO in Charlottesville, VA, for a wedding at Castle Hill Cidery. We loved the views from the back porch, with sounds of birds and a deer sighting. The interior was clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with modern amenities. The location was perfect, just a short drive away from downtown Charlottesville and the area's renowned wineries and cideries. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and friendly (my husband ran into them when he went for a 6 mile run out the back door and down the gravel road). I can't wait to return to this charming retreat, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil escape.
Just far enough up a winding country road to be able to enjoy the beauty of the area away from traffic and noise. Well appointed, very clean and more spacious that the website photo appears. Perfect location and amenities for our group!
This property is a perfect place to catch up with a friend and create more memories. It is quiet, serene and beautiful.
Clean, beautiful view, quiet! Will definitely stay again.
Great place, a lot of nature. One suggestion would be that f you are to promote the catch and release pond, either advise to bring your own fishing equipment or perhaps provide a pole or two.
We traveled for graduation at Liberty University, and this place was great for our late arrival time. It cut the driving down, and then we drove to graduation the following morning. The space was surprisingly more spacious than we expected. The pond was terrific, and we enjoyed time at the cottage as a family.
The stink bugs were bad and already in house when we arrived..
I wish we had stayed longer! Even though we didn’t really get to enjoy all the amenities this place had to offer, we will certainly be repeat customers. Thank you for having us.
