Stayed May 29, 2025What a gem!The house is absolutely lovely and very private and calm. Our kids (3 and 5 years) really enjoyed the pool and the garden. The house itself and the pool are very clean and the pool was tended to every day of our stay. The host Cinda was very quick to react when we had a minor issue. In short: our week went by way too fast and we hope to be back in the near future.

Stayed Aug 7, 2024We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property. We arrived tired after an amazing week at the Paris 2024 Olympics, so we were very content to relax for the week by the pool. The weather was in our favour, so we sat, read, swam and played games all week! We enjoyed a trip out to the local market and local supermarket. We also made the most of the local river and went out on our paddle board every morning. Delightful week in a beautiful setting.

Stayed Jul 28, 2023We stayed for 10 days and had a wonderfull time. The kids did not want to leave the property: great pool, with an amazing view over the pond. We loved it. Kingfishers flew on and off. Dee took such good care of us. Dee… you are amazing! Lovely villages to visit and beautifull hikes direct from the property.

Stayed Jul 15, 2023We had such a wonderful week in this beautiful holiday home. The location is perfect, so peaceful and very private but a 10 minute walk into Vermenton for a baguette or coffee. The house was very comfortable, so spacious and with everything we could need for our stay. The lovely Dee was around if we needed anything. We enjoyed visiting Auxerre, Vezelay and Guedelon. The walks along the canal and river were beautiful and the Friday market in Vermenton was fun too. Would love to go back one day!

Stayed Sep 3, 2022Lovely well equipped gite in stunning location and convenient for places we wished to visit such as Auxerre, Chablis and Vezelay. Dijon was a bit further afield but worth the day trip. Vermenton has a good ATAC supermarket and we were impressed with the local Le Meridien brasserie for lunch one day. Great swimming pool and rural setting with plenty of chances to spot wildlife. We've had a great break, wish it was longer. A friendly local lady Dee is on hand to settle you in and help if necessary. Five stars.

Stayed Aug 4, 2018We had a lovely week in Vermenton which we used as a stop off on the way to Cannes. The property is incredibly pretty sitting on the bank of a mill pond at the top of which is a lovely pool which we made good use of during our stay. The property is very well equipped and a comfortable relaxing space to be in. The property is a short walk away from the river and the canal, which were kayaking opportunities for our son who even managed to kayak in the mill pond. There is a good walk/cycle path along the canal to Accolay The Atac supermarket is a 15min walk away and supplied everything that you might need. We visited some pretty villages and towns including Chablis and Auxerre, During our visit we saw an abundance of wildlife, Kingfishers, water vole and also what I believed may have been an otter!

Stayed Jul 14, 2018Oasis of tranquility and still very close to all facilities you may need. The place offers also good access to the most interesting touristic spots. Special thanks to Dee for her hospitality. Our kids enjoyed the pool and a fairytale like forest. The possibility to see and touch the crops, cereal fields and harvest machines was also an unique experience for us, tired of living in a big city.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed for two weeks at this delightful property - just after a huge storm but all was well in the cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet but within 5 minute walk to Vermenton (supermarket, Friday market, tabac, boulangeries) and 20 min walk to Accolay to a fabulous restaurant Hostellerie de la Fontaine. Friends from Switzerland joined us ( we are from Adelaide Australia) and we explored the regional towns such as Vezelay, Chablis, Dijon, Semur en Auxois, Noyers sur Serein and Auxerre.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A truly relaxing place, perfectly located for exploring the gorgeous Burgundy countryside, canals and Chablis (town and wine). La Tourelle was well furnished, equipped and clean. A big thankyou to Dee and Cinda for all your help and we'll see you again next year for 2 weeks this time!
