Stayed Jun 20, 2025Hersey the donkey was adorable and a delight to feed. However, it is important to note that donkeys require at least one companion to support their mental and social well-being. He was on his own. The front patio was delightful. We saw some nice birds. It was nice to hear the frog at night as well. Hot tub was excellent.

Stayed May 23, 2025Loved our stay here...great location that is completely private and secluded yet just a short drive from everything. The home is cozy, interesting, and well-equipped. Spectacular views. We even enjoyed cherries fresh off the tree in the orchard. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025We had a wonderful time here! We could have stayed on the front porch drinking coffee all day. The view was beautiful, beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Oct 18, 2024Our family really enjoyed our stay! It was exactly as described. The beds were comfortable; as we also enjoyed the pond, sunsets on the porch, and Hershey, the donkey. We found him some pears from a tree on the property and he loved them! We look forward to booking the house again, as our daughter attends Mars Hill University and it's only about a 10 mile drive to the school.

Stayed Aug 7, 2024The home was great, the location was awesome and secluded, and the activities and views on the property were amazing. The kids loved feeding Hershey the Donkey, fishing in the pond and nights in the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again. Our family loved it and the 4 year old wanted to move here.

Stayed Jul 14, 2024We were absolutely thrilled to stay at this home. You get the feeling of being in a beautiful mountain home while still only being 10 minutes from Downtown Weaverville and 16 minutes from Asheville. The site is absolutely spectacular with the most incredible views of the mountains from the front porch. Having the little fishing pond is priceless. I had to work while we were here but my teen kids could still go right outside to do something fun. We caught tons of small fish in the pond and even a big catfish! Hershey, the resident donkey, is sweet as he could be and we absolutely loved him. We saw deer and bears through the kitchen window with the bears picking apples and pears! The home is lovely, quaint, and impeccably clean. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils, spices, etc; much more so than many VRBO homes we have stayed in. Bed in the primary was VERY comfortable. Linens and towels were very clean and nice. I will say, the beds in the second bedroom were way too soft for my liking but the kids were OK. My 17 yo slept on the Murphy Bed and it was not the best but passable although calling that a bedroom is a stretch. It’s more of a hallway with doors at both ends. My only real gripe was that there is not somewhere comfortable for a family to sit and watch TV. The room is just rocking chairs and we were uncomfortable; there are really only 2 seats that have a good view. Would DEFINITELY recommend!

Stayed Jun 12, 2024There were three of us and two were happy with the rental. The one who wasn’t slept in the Murphy bed off the kitchen. She felt it wasn’t really an adult bedroom. To each her own. Pretty property, very secluded. It worked out for us.

Stayed May 23, 2024Such a beautiful property. Very well decorated. I’d love to know the history of this older home. So much charm. Very private, as it’s at the end of the road. The pond out back was very cool to hang around. The donkey was an added coolness. The hot tub was divine. The house is just loaded with charm and very welcoming. I will definitely be staying here again when visiting family in Asheville.

Stayed May 11, 2024We all loved the property. It was my wife and I and my in laws. Plenty of room in the house for multiple people. The house was clean and so welcoming. We fell in love with Hershey the pet donkey. The stocked pond with catch and release we all enjoyed some friendly competition. Will stay again with our next trip to North Carolina.
