Mountain Laurel House

This property was so clean you'd think you are the first one to stay there. It was designed and built as a vacation rental. The hosts are there for you if you need anything but invisible if you don't. You won't find a more perfect place to stay in Mingo County. It is everything advertised and more.

Our experience with this VRBO property was outstanding from start to finish. The home was exactly as described—SPOTLESSLY clean, beautifully maintained, and stocked with thoughtful touches that made our stay incredibly comfortable. An abundance of linens (minimal amounts have been available when I have stayed in other properties). This property is as put-together as a home you would live in. Communication with the host was seamless. They were extremely responsive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They take pride in providing a top‑tier guest experience.We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. I highly recommend this property and would absolutely book it again.

Awesome place! It was close to the Hatfield and McCoys Buffalo Mountain trail head. We drove less then a 1/4 mile to the Trailhead. Great place definitely staying again.

We had an amazing stay at Derek and Ashley’s cabin while riding the Hatfield-McCoy Trails! The house was clean, cozy, and perfectly located—just minutes from Buffalo Trailhead. It’s also super close to the bowling alley and game room, which has an incredible staff and great atmosphere.The property is in a quiet area, away from any riff raff, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Derek was extremely friendly and helpful, even offering to help load our ATVs and making sure we had everything we needed.This spot is also the perfect location to visit the “Almost Heaven Swing”—a must-see sight if you’re in the area. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and will definitely be back the next time we visit the Hatfield McCoy trail system.Highly recommend this cabin and these wonderful hosts! P

Our stay was great!! The owners were right next door and was very accommodating. It’s behind the bowling alley which was a win. The house was fantastic. It’s was super clean and had plenty of towels. It’s located very close to buffalo mt trail system. All in all it’s was the perfect place to stay.

We spent a week down here to ride the trails. This cabin is close enough to everything and just far enough of the road so you feel secluded. The cabin was really comfy and clean. The owners are the nicest most accommodating people. Bonus: their dog, Banjo, is the goodest of good boys!

House, host, and location are great. Very close to the buffalo trail head for riding atv and utv. House is very cozy and there is a bowling alley next door aswell.

Everything is clean / new, communication with Derek was perfect. Plenty of room for a truck and 24' trailer w/2 sxs. Even a hose and pressure washer for easy clean up!

Clean , easy to find , good location, owners were beyond helpful. Was like the be home away from home.

Let me start by saying Derek and Ashley are amazing. Felt right at home from the first minute we got there. The cottage is exactly like the listing, very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed trail riding on Buffalo Mountain. My husband was impressed with the hose to clean off buggy right in the driveway…..what an added bonus! Unfortunately we had to leave early, but will stay again when we come this way and will let friends know about this gem.

We had an AMAZING time there!! It was so quiet and had a beautiful veiw. He made check in easy, if we needed anything he was quick to help. We will definitely be back

It was a really nice modern cabin. They supplied all kitchen utensils and towels so you don't have to bring much

My wife son and I stayed here for 3 nights for my 40th to ride the Hatfield McCoy trials. The location was perfect! Derek was phenomenal! Always checked in to see if we needed anything! The home was perfect! Very clean and modern! We are already planning our next trip back and will definitely be booking here again!the added bonus was Banjo the dog! If you’re not a dog person he will stay away however if you are like me and my family!”, he was the sweetest friendliest dog! Thanks again for everything Derek and Ashley! Tell Banjo we miss him!

This house was so nice and clean!! 2 rooms and a lot bigger than the pictures. My husband and me stayed down stairs our son love the loft all to himself. The own is welcoming. I loved the dog!! Such a great place to stay!!!

It was a great place to stay nice and clean cottage everything you needed , located in a private area. The owner of the cottage had checked on us occasionally to see if we needed anything and said if we didn't have what we needed just let him know he would make sure we had it. They were very nice people. We even got to meet his family. We enjoyed a few nice evenings sitting by a fire, listening to music and cooking out on a grill that was provided with the rental property also had an on-site pressure washer to clean our side-by-side which I thought was very nice to have as an option. Did not have to go into town and find a car wash to clean. Could clean there at the cottage every night and start the next day with a fresh clean machine to ride the next day. The whole place smelt clean and fresh as well as the linens and as we sat outside in the evenings we could smell fragrances from the mountain flowers. We would highly recommend this place to anyone as we were treated like royalties as we stayed are for four nights at this location, I want to thank Derrick and his family for having us. ?
