The house was very nice. It has a nice atmosphere and two very nice terraces. The house is basic but everything you need is there. If you love nature and being away from the crowd, then this house is perfect. The region is not very touristic with nice small towns at the coast. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Spent a relax week here in the summer, and I'll definitely return. Just you and the nature, including a curious fox in the evening, the neighbours (that brought us a desert), an amazing lake, etc. João and his family were very helpful. The house, and specially the kitchen, are very complete and well equipped (not sophisticate though)..

This place is a dream come true for those who enjoy the nature and quietness in a typical Alentejo surrounding, and who value the work and passion invested by the owners. Here, you have the feeling of being away from it all, enjoying the colours, sounds and smells of this unique and calm landscape. At the same time, you are still within reach of the best west coast beaches and towns like Sines, Santiago or Milfontes where you can go for a stroll and be back among people. The house is spacious and cozy, gently restored and furnished, so much unlike other country houses that have been over-renovated into sterile upmarket places and lost their true characters. If you expect “luxury” accomodation, go somewhere else. This one is functional, clean and simple - but hey, you want to stay in a genuine place on the countryside, right? Even at night, the atmosphere is special, with the silhouettes in the moonlight and a spectacular starry sky. The beauty of the place adds to the friendlyness and responsiveness of the owners who also have a fresh sense of humor. Our two weeks at Medronhal were simply wonderful.
