Mona's Cottage - Private Parking, Sea Views, Garden & Close To Harbour & Beach

Mona's Cottage is absolutely lovely and located in the charming town of Charlestown.Carole, the host, met us and showed us around the property, and left some wonderful local treats which we greatly enjoyed.The entire cottage is well appointed, very coxy and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need.There's proximity to many eating establishments and.places to visit.A top notch property and stay for six nights.

Cosy, everything you need, great location. Great additional outside space provide breakfast and teatime sun.

Great stay in a great cottage, Charlestown was having lots of work done in the harbour and because of this the tall ships have left, but the pubs and restaurants are great

The cottage is very well maintained, very clean and well stocked with all we needed. The cottage has been well cared for, I’m quite picky but had nothing to complain about at all. The two levels of small patio and garden caught the sun morning and evening, and from the upper level we could see the sea. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, so no need to drive.

Carole's place is a lovely, cozy cottage, with plenty of light and lovely views of the harbour. While the rooms are not large, there are plenty of them with room for everything. Carole is a very accommodating host, leaving us all the makings of a cream tea and a bottle of wine. The restaurants and shops are only a few steps away. Highly recommend. The cottage was exactly as described and we were met by the owner who was extremely helpful and friendly. It is in a great location which is very close to the harbour but also quiet. The cottage is full of original features and character but has all necessary modern facilities.

The property is very comfortable. It is well kept and well equipped. It is lovely to have a sea view. We hope to return.

Had an amazing stay at Mona's cottage, excellent property above the harbour.. with plenty of restaurants to choose from! What a view to wake up to, from the front bedrooms! We were met at the front door by Carole who introduced us to the cottage and had advice of places to visit. Charlestown is such a lovely, picturesque place to visit, and even nicer to stay. And Mona's Cottage is an ideal home from which to do so. It has a nice lay out, is very well furnished and has all the nice touches you might want, including a hallway where you can take off your boots and hang up all your outdoor clobber. There are several excellent eating out options in the village and a nearby Tesco if you prefer to self cater most of the time, as we did. I can also recommend the 1.5 mile cliff walk from the village to Carlyon Bay where there are a number of cafe and drink options on the beach.

Mona's cottage was just as described. It was on a quiet street just back from the harbour and the parking right outside was a real bonus. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. Fabulous shower..! Lovely outdoor space and very close to the harbour and the beaches. All correspondence and the welcome from the owner was great - thank you Carole.. I would highly recommend a stay here.

During last two weeks in July 2024 we had spent our family holidays at Mona‘s Cottage. We‘re from Germany and did spend several holidays in UK already, also in Cornwall. But this place is rather special. The Cottage itself is spacious for a family of 4 (including two Teenagers), is well equipped, great comfortable beds and a remarkable powerfull shower. For the Teenagers: yes, WiFi was also strong and stable… Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video if you bring your own Logins, Bluray Player with loads of DVDs etc There is a protected patio with morning sun, which was our preferred place to enjoy breakfeast, parking at site, kitchen well equipped, too. While Charlestown can be busy at times, this Cottage sits just on the edge, so you will always have a great great retreat with all that you need for an evening drink or dinner just steps away. The coastal path is just around the corner and we had Walks wit outstanding views e. g. from Looe to Gribbin Head - but also directly from Charlestown to Carlyon Beach (20-30 min). Many things to do are just around the corner. We did trips to Eden Project, Mevagissey, Looe, St Ives, Truro, Lizard Point, Fowey…. All within +/- 1h drive and much more would have been reachable within same time. While unfortunately St Austell itself isn‘t the nicest city in Cornwall, it offers almost all supermarkets like Tesco, a 24h ASDA, Lidl and Aldi, others… We can only recommend this place. Will definetely not forget our holidays here.

Lovely, comfortable cottage with sea view in very quiet area of Charlestown. Had everything that we may have needed and lovely care package of wine, yeast cakes, clotted cream and milk. Carole and her husband met us at the cottage and went through everything with us. Would definitely stay again if the chance arose.

Such a lovely place to stay and relax with the family. Didn't need nor want anything else to make this the perfect getaway. Perfect and friendly host

Carole was wonderful and met us at the door to explain everything. House is lovely and everything is provided. We had a little welcome package too which was very much appreciated. Charlestown is close to lots of lovely places to visit including the Lost gardens of Heligan, the Eden project and St Austells brewery. There are also lots of coffee shops, bars and restaurants close by. Highly recommended.

My wife, infant daughter and mother in law stayed here for the majority of our vacation in the UK. It was the perfect place to take day trips by car throughout Cornwall. The hosts were amazing, very responsive and accommodating. They provided additional items such as a pack n play, baby gate and bathtub for our daughter. We were traveling from the states with a little one so the extra attention to making things easier with her was greatly appreciated. Charlestown was so beautiful that we spent several days just staying there, our stay was 8 nights but we easily could have stayed a month. Would absolutely rent again if we’re back in Cornwall, Charlestown was extremely easy to drive into by car and the parking is convenient and easy at the cottage, can’t recommend enough!
