Stayed Apr 14, 2026A cute little eclectic bungalow, well-decorated and well-equipped. She's probably older than me, so understandably has a few wrinkles. That said, a great place to spend the night on your Road-to-Hana adventure!

Stayed Mar 9, 2026Great location for visiting sites north & south of Hāna. Wonderful privacy and beautiful sunrises. Interior is very clean. The tub is beautiful, but challenging to take a shower due to the bottoms curvature. Just a wonderful experience!

Stayed Feb 1, 2026The doors are open welcoming you on arrival. Orchids lovingly placed throughout the house. It was so relaxing staying in Hale Ulu LuLu. It was perfect for my husband and I. Hana is a lovely place. Beaches, waterfalls, National Park.

Stayed Jan 28, 2026A very delightful cottage that is well appointed. Our host, Ra, was the best! He came to make sure all was fine and we asked about a chair for my husband to sit on the porch and he came right back with one. He made sure we knew about the Wi-Fi outage in the whole area and again came to check on us during the brown out bringing candles just in case. He said we got a true Hana experience and apologized for those things that were out of his control. If you need quiet and a place to truly relax, this is the place!

Stayed Jan 20, 2026The house was perfect for two people. We especially enjoyed the decor, and it was very clean when we arrived. The host was welcoming, responsive, and readily available by text, although we didn’t need to contact him at all during our stay.

Stayed Jan 9, 2026Hana is a beautiful place to stay: beaches, people and food trucks. This property was a walk to Hamoa bay and a short drive into the town. It is close enough, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of tourists areas. The cottage is a unique find: cast iron bathtub, comfy bed and well stocked kitchen and dining room. I would highly recommend it.

Stayed Jun 17, 2025It is a cute plantation style house however, not worth the price. The description made it look much nicer and more upscale than the usual rental with the higher price and the mention of a fruit basket awaiting your arrival. There was no fruit basket and not even one coffee filter to get you going the next morning. Yes there were fresh flowers placed throughout but the place was pretty well cleared out of all normal basics youd expect to accumulate from previous renters. I mention that because i found it odd with how remote the place is and not much of a chance to just go out and pick something up. Not even a mop, just three dirty dish rags under the kitchen sink and a scrub sponge to do dishes. I swept the house the morning after our arrival and got a big pile leading me to seriously question if it had been properly cleaned. Overall the place seemed tidy but when you look a bit closer you could tell that nothing was really cleaned, just made to look clean. The beach going gear had clearly not been used in a long time with having cob webs when you open the closet door. And the chairs having rust. It was all just wrong and couldnt have been farther than what we were expecting our stay to be like. We booked it for an entire week but found ourselves running back to kihei after two nights losing all of that money. Also the views of the ocean from the front porch just werent accurate either. Nothing seemed quite right about it all.

Stayed Apr 5, 2025This charming cottage in Hana takes one back in time to another era where life was a little less complicated. It's a good example of how a seemingly simple little home that is nicely cared for can be all one needs. The home and grounds exemplify Feng shui, in perfect alignment with neighbouring pastures and the nearby ocean. One looks forward to returning after a full day of exploring and just being. The home does have some critters like a couple geckos and the odd spider that somehow sneak in past the screens. The signs of life are a welcome sign, I'm grateful the owners don't spray the place to death like other rentals. The property is on the highway but it's barely noticeable. The home is very quiet and peaceful, except for the sounds of nature (like crickets at night). The location can not be beat. You're just slightly out of town in an absolutely beautiful area, but 3 minutes from the beach. If you're considering staying in Hana, you'll be delighted with this choice. Don't make the mistake of staying for too short a period. Hana has so much to enjoy.

Stayed Feb 15, 2025The location is great. Right on the Hana Highway. The sunrise is lovely. The owners have put great effort into restoring an old house. However my experience was not great. There were no blinds on the glass door. So we really felt exposed. We told the host. They recognized that it was a miss on their part. Bear in the mind, the house is old. So taps were chipping off. The utensils were not clean. We were traveling with an infant so had to clean everything twice. We had to change plans and check out early.Well we hope you have a better experience than us.

Stayed Feb 7, 2025We loved our stay at Hala Ulu Lulu. If you want a more authentic Hawaiian stay, this is it! The cottage sits far back from the road and was absolutely charming. We loved the Hawaiian decor and interesting artwork through the space. We loved the relaxed feeling of the neighborhood and were spoiled by the gorgeous sunrise and sunset. The location was perfect and close to the National Park and Pīpīwai Trail- Waimoku Falls. We took a morning stroll out the front door to Waioka Pond (the Venus Pools) which was jaw dropping gorgeous. Our last day we explored Wai'anapanapa State Park which is one of our favorite spots. You can’t go wrong with Hale Ulu Lulu!Only problem was an ant invasion with some of our food. We kept all food all in the fridge. It is a real gem!pools to a breathtaking
