How this place got a 10/10 for cleanliness is beyond me. As soon as we walked in, the house smelt so bad of mustiness. Evan said the dehumidifier was supposed to be left on but it was definitely not a good smell to walk in to. There was so much opened food left in the fridge and cabinets that we had to throw away. My son’s bed and all throughout the house was covered in dog fur so as soon as we got there we had to wash some bedding and clean everything. The furniture was extremely uncomfortable and some looked as if it had been bought second hand, many light fixtures did not work and all of the beach chairs were broken and could hardly be sat in. I understand there was a recent hurricane, but all of the issues we had were not in correlation with that. The biggest issue we had with our stay was the cleanliness and deceiving reviews of the house. We have been staying in Manasota Key for years and this was the most expensive and least favorite place we have stayed for many reasons. Evan was very nice and easy to work with and the beach and bay access were nice but we will not be staying here again.

We extremely enjoyed our stay. Evan was great. He provided chairs, umbrellas, shark tooth screens. Everything we needed. We hope to do it again. Thanks so much

My hope with this review is to provide an honest, fact-focused summary of our stay. Unfortunately, I found the listing to significantly misrepresent the property which resulted in my family losing out on what we wanted most: a week staying in a beach-front house.My wife and I searched VRBO specifically looking for a house that is on the beach. We used the beach front property filter that specifically says nothing between you and the sand. This was the single-most important aspect for our stay and we used it to narrow down the options on Manasota Key. To put it plainly: we would have never rented this property at over 500 a night if we knew its true location.After an 8.5 hour drive to the property, we were extremely angry to find out that this house is not on the beach at all. The house is across the street from the beach and directly across from the the host's house which is beach front. In fact, I used Google Earth to measure the distance and it's 465 ft from the front door to the beach across the street. We felt trapped at this point because we couldn't cancel. I spoke to Evan, the host, and explained how the listing details grossly misrepresent this house's location and that it's definitely not on the beach. He said he would update the listing, which he did. However, it still shows as on the beach with the first 5 photos showing a beach view. The house we rented was nice and screened-in porch was great to have; however, it was not on the beach as listed.

Wow....this is one of the best VRBOs we've stayed in. Evan was a great host, very welcoming, helpful and quick to respond to questions. Location is so convenient to either Lemon Bay or the beach.

Our host Evan was great and provided very helpful and complete information about the cottage, amenities, and surrounding area. We had a group of 8 and this cottage provided PLENTY of room for us to spread out, both inside and on the porch! We were very pleased with our vacation experience!

Very private beach. Beautiful lodging and everything you need to have a great beach vacation. The host was wonderful and answered questions quickly. The whole package for a memorable vacation.

This was one of our favorite stays EVER. You have the paradise of the Bay on one side and the beach on the other! We fished off the dock and caught tons of catfish. Then by simply crossing the beach road, we entered the beach and the water was turquoise and the temperature of bath water! We found so many shark teeth and beautiful shells. One of my fav things to do every day was to hop on the bicycle and stroll down the beach road admiring the beautiful homes and the lizards scuttling by. Evan was a wonderful host and has so many extras to share including umbrellas and chairs for the beach. Even beach towels and sunscreen! This was true paradise.

We enjoyed our stay so much! Just right for us with short walks to the Beach and Bay, peaceful back porch and comfy beds. It is a beautiful and clean house in the trees. Evan is a helpful host with great communication. We hope to go back again.

Had a great family vacation. We spent lots of time on the beach & fishing off the dock. We were especially grateful for your turtle education thank you for letting us partake in that.

We were extremely happy with our stay and Evan as our host. He went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly including helping us find all the beach amenities. The house was excellent and just what we needed, just a short walk across the road to the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

The house is very nice and very clean! It has all that you need to have a comfortable stay! The owner i lives across the street and he’s very helpful if you need something. The house is crossing the street on the lagoon side and you have to walk for a small path on the side of the ownershouse to reach the beach The beach is very, very nice! We had a very good stay!
