Mariposa, California
All new manufactured home cottage with American Indian decor with new furniture, linens, crockery, cutlery as well as new full size fridge, stove and microwave, this unit is nestled in between some big trees and is down the winery lane from street. So quiet except for the birds. Outdoor patio and gas BBQ area to choose from. Eat each meal each day in a different spot as you look out across the meadow and big seasonal pond, as well as the overgrown hillside across the river.
Almost in the middle of Triangle Rd that cuts across top of Mariposa so there is easy access to Yosemite's West gate (Hwy 140) for the valley floor, or Yosemite's South gate (Hwy 41) for access to Wawona, Big Trees and Badger Pass ski area. Take a break from Yosemite and hike our own property, or just take a book or guitar and picnic in one of the amazing spots by our own seasonal river, or simply relax under a big oak tree.
Yes it is central California and gets hot in summer - but this cabin has the latest energy ratings. And at night we are above the fog and town lights, and below the snow (except a few days in Winter), so spectacularly clear nights are the norm for all star and moon gazers.
Owner lives nearby on same grounds to serve any needs or questions. We have been visiting Yosemite for over 30 years - long before we moved to this area we love so much. There is even a washer and dryer but who does laundry on vacation.
SuperFast Starlink WIFI. Detailed Guide Book and owner will take care of all your questions about what to do or where to go.
In summary, brand new everything with fabulous views, extremely quiet, very safe and peaceful, big gardens to hang out in, all for less than a room in town.
Very unique and great location for visiting Yosemite park. Lots of space and a neat little pool to cool off in.
Booked this for a weekend visit to Yosemite. Listing was clean and tidy. Host was responsive and helpful.
Home is completely new, well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit to Mariposa! The City of Mariposa is small but very quaint, we had a wonderful dinner at Savoury's a local restaurant in town. People are very welcoming and so very kind. We were just about 45-60 minutes from Yosemite and the views this time of year were completely breathtaking! Martin was a super host and we would definitely stay again if we come back to Yosemite. Thanks for a great visit!
First of all Martin the owner is awesome! He told us in advance to make a reservation to enter Yosemite Park. He was very kind and prompt with all of our questions. My kids enjoyed the pool to cool off from the summer heat. The local market is only 16 minutes away and enjoy the small town experience!
Great quaint property with a great view, perfect for a small group. Good location as well, about 30 mins from entrance to the park and right next to beautiful vineyard. Host was next door anytime we needed him and was very welcoming.
Martin was very friendly and hospitable. We had a great stay while my friend and I did some editing on a book project. The property is fairly close to the 140 Yosemite entrance and is easy to get to. Highly recommended!
This place was perfect for our Yosemite trip. Close to the park. Everything you need is here. Martin is very nice and gets back to you quick. I look forward to staying here again.
Originally booked with the view of eating out in Mariposa, but the location is so wonderful and peaceful we ate in (outside) every day. Kitchen is a little short of space, so you have to be organised to prepare food, but well worth it. Property is a little shabby, but being continually improved - new laundry area has just been made. Martin is a wonderful host, intelligent, articulate and well travelled, and will fix anything really quickly. As a note, it takes about 50 minutes to get to the Yosemite gate unless you push it. Overall, we loved our time here. Thanks you Martin!
Very happy with the stay. Host is great. Cabin is everything we needed. Loved being out and away. If you enjoy peace and solitude, this is the place for you!
The property has what is needed but it's getting a bit shabby.
Rustic, something you would expect from a Yosemite visit. Nice host, knowledgeable about region. The location is perhaps a bit too remote.
We visited in the Spring and the home and land is very beautiful. You can skip around through the meadow and afterwards grill up some food on the BBQ. Its def a place to relax and unwind, especially if you're coming from a city. Super close to Yosemite too! Martin went above and beyond as a host. FYI: Area is prone to mosquitoes, which isn't surprising. Just come prepared and you will be cool. He does provide some mosquito repellant but it doesn't hurt to bring your own as well. Other than that, you will love the place.
Small cabin with good vibes. Could use a deep clean but certainly not dirty or unkempt. Martin the owner is terrific. Make some time to chat with him .
