Macatawa Lake View Cottage by State Park and Bike Trails

Absolutely perfect for a quiet stay with a few ladies for a nearby retreat. Location and lake views were top notch!

A lovely home on Lake Macatawa. The view out the large picture window is AWESOME. The view from the lawn chairs is just as good with a breeze. Well equipped home. It met our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Holland.

We truly loved our stay overall. The location was absolutely beautiful, and the lake view was stunning. We spent so much time enjoying the scenery, and it was exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing getaway.The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the house. It wasn’t as clean as we had expected or hoped, especially considering the quality of the property. A little more attention to detail with housekeeping would have made a big difference.Additionally, we were told the lawn would be mowed every Friday during our stay, but that didn’t happen. As the grass grew taller, it took away from the otherwise beautiful outdoor space and lake view.Despite these issues, we had a wonderful time and really appreciated the peaceful setting. With improved cleaning and more consistent property maintenance, this would easily be a five-star rental.

We weren’t there during air conditioning season, but the nice warm fireplace would kick on to keep it warm for us. That was fun. It is an older home, and the price point is ideal. We had a great stay.

Great spot, great location, beautiful views, clean but could use a little update, over all, would recommend and would stay there again!!!

Family loved using the grill and making smores at the fire pit. Plenty of space to gather with family or have quiet morning prayer while looking out at the beautiful lake view.

The cottage was in a great location with beautiful views of the lake! It recently had new flooring in each room which was nice too. This cottage has been frozen in time but yet is fully functional and wasn’t missing anything we needed which made for a great place for our multi-generational group. The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond to questions. We will definitely stay here again!

The most wonderful place for our family. The weather was cool On Sunday when we arrived but each day got warmer. Every sunset was different and we enjoyed each one down at Lake Michigan. I was up most mornings at 6:45 to enjoy each sunrise. As the week went forward all joined me the last morning to watch the beautiful sunrise! Getting out taking walks climbing Mt Pisgha it was all wonderful. The size of the house worked so well go us. With having a 6 month old!! Thanks so much for the cute nostalgia throughout the house. Brought back memories of my sister in laws home that we spent many holidays at her home!! Perfect for us!

Our family really enjoyed our stay!! Easy check-in and out. The location was fantastic, plenty of space indoors and outdoors to spread out. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend it to others!

Our stay was very nice. It was very relaxing looking out at the water. Easy to get to. Very close to Lake Michigan, the State Park and bike trails. Would be a great place to bringour family. Thank you for sharing the cottage.

The good and the bad:The Good: -Nice lakeview-Local wildlife (super friendly ducks!)-Proximity to Holland and State Park-Plenty of sleeping space-Nice backyard space to relaxThr Bad:-Typical stuffy cottage issues... needs screens in windows for air movement or better AC options.-Listing was inaccurate. Futons were listed but were actually sofas. Sleeper sofas are fine for kids but the adults sleeping on them had back issues xD-Appliances need some work. After hours at the beach grandpa wanted to watch some baseball but the TV cable was out. Host attempted to fix the 2nd day but the day we arrived to the TV on and non-functional. The VCR combo TV was also non functional and listed a VCR head needs to be cleaned message. We also found a note indicating the dish washer was broken. Unclear if this was accurate as the host indicated otherwise but we didnt want to risk water damage if something went wrong.-Host did respond to our issues but not until late the 1st day in. Generally would recommend expecting questions or assistance requests day 1 at check-in time.-Decorations were cute and themed but not child friendly. We were concerned the kids would break some of the many glass trinkets and decor so we packed everything away. Certainly a fun setup but having so many glass things at knee level is just asking for a 3 year old to drop your glass vase, shatter your dutch blue stonewear, or crack your vintage milk bottles.

The home had a great location with beautiful views and the owner was very responsive. A few things were a disappointment as they differed from the listing. There was only AC in 1 bedroom and 1 living space and windows in the other rooms did not open. There was only 1 shower despite the listing showing 2. The appliances were very old with the dishwasher not being operational and there were no instructions left for it and apparently it was to hook up to the sink but there was not a hose provided to do so. The tvs and wifi did not work and the toilet in one of the bathrooms leaked leaving a large puddle on the floor.

The house was cozy and the view out the back was amazing. It was super clean and well supplied. The beds weren't as comfortable as we'd hoped for and despite the many fans it got quite warm.

Beautiful and peaceful place on the lake. Very spacious home and well equipped. Good restaurants nearby. We look forward to coming back in the fall.

The cottage is so welcoming and homey. My mom, sisters and I had a great time hiking and exploring Holland.

Beautifully decorated & well appointed home perfect for pretty much any occasion. Unfortunately we only got to stay one night bc this house was fantastic! And the outdoor options were great but the weather & season didn't cooperate

We needed a quick, one-night stay with family and this was the perfect house. Super easy check-in, comfortable beds and clean. We loved the retro touches and the multiple places for guests to sit and enjoy the view. We also appreciated not having a huge cleaning fee and were happy to do a quick cleanup. Thanks for making this easy!

We stayed for just the weekend to attend a wedding for our family. There were six of us and we had a fantastic time. The views were beautiful and the cottage was clean and fully stocked with what we needed. Harriet was an amazing host and we hope to come back again!
