Stayed Jun 8, 2024The house was beautiful and so were the gardens. Brilliant location to walk along footpaths into Keswick or to grab breakfast at The Chalet or dinner at The Farmers Arms Pub(recommend booking for parties over 2). Also a short hike to Langholm House and to one of the Derwent Water ferry stops. Really great location. Gave the cleanliness 3 star, as beds, bathrooms and kitchen were perfectly clean, but there were lots of cobwebs in corners and under furniture, which our toddler found, being a crawler. Please note, you have to stock up with essentials like toilet tissue and kitchen roll, something I had misread. Coming from the States, it’s not something you pack, but Boothes in Keswick has everything you need. All in all it was a great stay and a fantastic base for hiking in the glorious Lake District.

Stayed May 15, 2023Great property in the Lake District. One pub within 5 minutes walk, close to Keswick which has multiple restaurants. Nice grounds, you could eat outside if the summer was warm enough.

Stayed Mar 5, 2022A delightful holiday home in a great location to explore the Lakes. A half hour stroll or five minute drive into Keswick from the house provides access to Derwent Water, lakeside restaurants and shops. The house also has a pub and excellent cafe on its doorstep in Portinscale itself. The house is immaculate and the owners have thoughtfully decorated and fitted-out to make guests as comfortable as possible. There’s a lovely garden with amazing views. Highly recommended for a great holiday venue.
