Our second stay at the Cider Press. The cottage is warm, a lovely space and well equipped. We love the village too. My disappointment was the cleanliness and tiredness of the decor and soft furnishings. I actually took some photos if required. Cobwebs in most of the rooms, water marked picture in twin bathroom, mattress covers that have shrunk so they don't fit the single beds, dusty air vents in bathrooms. The wardrobe door wouldn't shut in the twin room. I would expect a full size toilet roll in each bathroom? The floors in the hall/kitchen could do with a good clean. I love this place but it does need some TLC.

We had a very pleasant stay at Cider Press Cottage. Very well located and well equipped. The bed needs a new mattress but the rest of the cottage was very comfortable and cosy.

Our fourth time here. Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Only slight problem is the sluggish logburner!

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the kindling and wood left for the fire. Ilmington is a lovely village with a good shop/cafe and two excellent pubs. All are within walking distance. Many good walks from the village and plenty of places to visit nearby.

If you enjoy peace and quiet in a lovely Cotswold Village this is the place for you. Well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Within walking distance to a good local pub, The Red Lion, serving well cooked and reasonably priced meals. Also an excellent village shop and cafe with very friendly and welcoming locals. The only slight disappointment was a lack of a few tea bags to start the day of arrival and no dishwasher or washing machine tablets provided. Just a packet of chocolate biscuits . Not too much of a problem for us but if you were an American tourist who had just flown in the first job would be to find the shop which is closed Sunday and Monday to get supplies. Otherwise we enjoyed our peaceful stay very much, very friendly locals and a touch of English Villages of old.

Visiting from Australia & first time to the Cotswolds which has been a bucket list destination for some time & was not disappointed. The cottage was as described very comfortable & clean & well equipped for every occasion. Ilmington as a location is to die for, very friendly & steeped in history as well as close to major attractions such as Bourton on the Water, Stratford upon Avon & numerous small villages along the way. For a longer excursion, Castle Coombe was well worth the visit. The Bell Inn at Alderminster was a favourite pub with excellent meals. A suggestion for the cottage is that the ensuite shower needed a non slip safety mat which we purchased as it was quite slippery, there was one in the bath. We understand that renovations are planned for the bathroom which would negate having a shower over the bath without any type of screen. Would definitely return again & have no hesitation in recommending Cider Press Cottage for anyone travelling to the Cotswolds.

Overall we had a good stay at Cider Press Cottage. We did feel the property was a little tired and some small updates would have made it perfect. The lounge was spacious and light, Kitchen a good size but in need of a little tlc. The main bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The en-suite was okay, shower was a little small and again some updating would improve it. The smaller room was adequate, it would have been good to have had another shower or at least a hook for the mixer and a curtain over the bath so it could be used as a shower. some of the towels and linen had marks on them. The garden was a little disappointing, we couldn’t let the dogs out because of all the apples that had dropped, definitely room for improvement that could make the space much more inviting. Some milk and biscuits were provided, but a welcome pack of tea, coffee and milk would have been appreciated. The property provided a good base for exploring the Cotswolds. And they did allow us to drop our luggage off before checking which was very helpful.

This work attracted noise including swearing, load music, repeated sanding and vibration and effectively rendered our second week as a complete waste of money There were no refuse tanks for the rubbish and in fact no welcoming treats even down to some milk Great shame really as the whole experience we have been saving up for could have provided a very well earned break The below further questions should have another option based on the above feedback and not just yes or no

What a lovely place Ilmington is! A beautiful village with excellent amenities provided by the shop and cafe. A fantastic community spirit. The cottage is lovely and so convenient for visiting the Cotswold villages and excellent eateries nearby. The cottage caters for absolutely every requirement, it is so well equipped, and is so pleasant and light with the french doors in the kitchen and lounge looking out to the patio. It was spotlessly clean. We had only one concern, and that was the need for new matresses on the beds! One side of the king bed nearest the door was like a board resulting in one of us absconding to one of the twins which was also uncomfortable! One suggestion? Perhaps replace the carpet in the lounge with a wooden floor so that inevitable stains can be removed. We loved our time at the cottage.

The house was warm and inviting on arrival which is always important to me. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the house had everything you needed from kitchen equipment to several toilet rolls! The village is beautiful and the locals very friendly. Lots of alleyways to walk down to find interesting paths without going too far from the house. The Red Lion was wonderful for a Sunday roast. They had live entertainment in the pub and lots of locals attended. It was great. We will be back.

Cider press cottage is very spacious, well equipped, comfortable and clean. We had a lovely stay here and the village of Ilmington has everything you need and is well placed for seeing all the of the Cotswolds. Some reviews have said there isn’t much of a welcome pack but there was tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits. Also salt and pepper, but what I liked there were plenty of loo rolls, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and liquid soap and bin bags all the things I often forget. We would definitely return to Cider Press Cottage in the future!

We had a fantastic time, staying in Cider press cottage. The accommodation was absolutely perfect! Clean, comfortable and met all of our needs. The village of Ilmington is picturesque and very friendly. We really had the very best time, I just wished our stay had been longer.
