Les petites bergeries- Sheepfold

We liked it! Calm & peaceful place and not so crowded village like some others. Dominique is a very kind, interesting and helpful person.We had two cozy rooms, like mini houses: a bedroom and a kitchen/living roombathroom.The garden and the terrace are very cozy with sun loungers, small table and some chairs.Just be aware that you have to cross a small path outside (like three or four steps) to the next door. During the day is no prob at all, at night it is not that comfortable as it would be in the same house. Going to the beach or to the village centre bikes are very useful. There are just few steps to the fields for jogging, riding a bike or hiking. We liked our vacation there very much!

Sweet property about 1km from town which has a fabulous market and good beach. The property had adequate facilities just need to be aware that the bedroom is across a gravel path from the living space and loo.

Well kept property with own patio. Ideal for a couple to explore the island. Dominique and excellent host.

Although the host was away she had arranged for friends and family to make us welcome and check we had everything we needed. The property is a short (10 minute) walk from the village centre with its large market, shops and perhaps twice that from the long sandy beach. It is very close to traffic-free cycle paths that connect the whole island. The bedroom is in one building, the kitchen, bathroom and living area are in a second building across the garden path. We were prepared with dressing gowns and torches! The garden is delightful and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace. The photos on the website are rather out-of-date, but the overall impression is correct. The kitchen area is tiny, best suited to simple lunches, not full scale meals.

Dominique could not have been a more friendly and helpful hostess. The two bergerie rooms were basic and clean. This gite is situated in the centre of the Ile de Re ideal for exploring in all directions and easy for walking to the sea and to St. Martin. The pretty garden is a joy to eat out in on the terrace set aside for the lodgings when the weather is warm.
