Stayed Feb 1, 2025This lovely place includes two cottages - a beautifully restored cigar-maker type cottage plus a second cottage used primarily as an artist's studio. A breezeway connects the two and flows into a large deck overlooking a lush garden, which is a real highlight of the property. A rare find in this lovely neighborhood, to say the least! The entire place reflects the warmth and spirit of current owner Susan, who is a super responsive and a joy to do business with.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The home and environment of this accomplished painter is full of Old Key West charm. It was easy to hop on our bikes and explore Old Town, the beaches, the harbor (though I was perfectly happy hiding out in the garden!!!!) The abundant gardens, the unique open-air architecture, the lovely linens and towels and well-stocked kitchen made our stay comfortable and romantic. Turtle House is indeed an oasis of serenity, beauty, and creativity.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Off a shaded lane find Turtle House, a cottage that merges so naturally with it's gardens and towering palms that inside, outside is forgotten. The urge to explore becomes compelling, as opening one louvered door after another or opening the sliding doors to an expanse of weathered deck brings not only rushes of surprise at the varied views of an exquisite, small rain forest, but the comfort of finding any modern convenience. Discover fine linens, wonderful mattresses, unique earthenware dishes...even silverware with burnished handles... even gleaming champagne glasses amidst wooden bowls. Beautiful and creative. It is an adventure of a house, perhaps like the places you created as a child or dream about now.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969When we first entered the Turtle House we knew it would be the place for us. The lush garden and wood accents enveloped our being. We so needed a place to unwind and totally relax and decompress away from our busy lives. We stayed here 10 beautiful days and settled in and felt very welcomed by the owner. The dipping pool was enjoyable on those hot days. So nice to be in a private home and not a resort. The history of the house was so interesting. We Rented bikes at Eaton a few blocks up( they also deliver but book online and get 10% off). It was very quiet at night but a short walk to busy Duval and some of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. Our favourite being Santio Bodega on Petronia. Lots to see and do in Key West. Dry Tortuga tour was fabulous as well as Fort Zachery beach. Thank you to Susan we would love to return anytime. Debbie & Leanne

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I loved Turtle house, private, well appointed and super location. Just a short walk or bike ride to Duval St. The two houses are very comfortable, nice linens and the the garden is very tranquil even though the main street is one block away. Very helpful owner, who directed me to all the best art galleries. I will stay again when I return next year.
