This is a newer lakefront property with sunset views over beautiful Paradise Lake. Cross the country lane to a private beachfront on a sandy bottom lake with cabana and "L" shaped dock. Bring your water toys but we have 2 kayaks for your use. Paradise is a great fishing Lake so bring your poles; some fishing tackle is available on site. Paradise Chalet is located just minutes from Mackinaw City and the ferries to Mackinac Island but offers you a private and peaceful retreat to return to. It's nestled in a quiet cove and surrounded by forest.
This spotless cottage is light and airy with lots of windows and amazing views of Paradise Lake. It offers everything you need to enjoy your vacation - just bring your groceries! The master bedroom adjoins the bathroom on the main floor and has a queen sized bed. The upstairs loft has 2 queen beds. The main floor has an open design with living room, dining room and kitchen. There is a very large deck drenched in sun which faces the lake. The cottage features central air, a new washer/dryer, DISH satellite, WIFI and a water treatment system to remove that ‘country water’ that so many cottages have. We also offer 2 bikes for your use.
The location is so perfect to enjoy Northern Michigan. Situated minutes from Mackinaw City, the Mackinac Bridge, St. Ignace (the gateway to the Upper Peninsula) Cheboygan, the beautiful Inland Waterway, Les Cheneaux Islands, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Good Hart, and Charlevoix - the list goes on and on! The fall colors are unbeatable and there are lots of opportunities for viewing them. Organized bike rides, road races for runners and winery and brewery tours are very popular. Golf, fish, boat, swim, ski, hike, bike, antiquing, casinos, winery/brewery tours. What's your pleasure
If you love biking, the North Western State Trail can be accessed through Carp Lake and passes through many communities along the way, including Conway, Oden, Ponshewaing, Brutus, Pellston, Van, and Levering. In 2018, the scenic route was recognized with a National Recreation Trail designation.
The spring and fall are great for bird watching - especially the hawk migration in early spring. We've personally witnessed it and it takes your breath away to see the hundreds of raptors circling the sky to make their annual crossing of the Straits of Mackinac.
Join us as guests and make this a memorable vacation spot that you will want to return to over and over again!
It's a perfect little property that's big enough to be spacious, yet still cozy. The sailing décor is the best and our girls just loved every bit of it. We had a great time. The kayaks and bicycles are great, and the views are tremendous. It's super close to Mackinaw City, but you certainly feel secluded -- you rarely see a neighbor and the road the serves the property has almost no traffic. The private dock and water equipment was great fun and super relaxing, with the best views. There's plenty of ankle deep clear and rocky water for catching minnows and the like. If you want pretty good bar food (and pizza) to go, Clyde's Place is just on the other side of the lake, maybe a 5 min drive, but the kitchen in the Chalet has just about everything you'd need to cook in house. Groceries in Mackinaw City are pretty limited, so if you have any particular food requirements, you should bring them with you, or head over the bridge into St Ignace for a bigger supermarket. The basement was well stocked with 'just in case' cleaning supplies. As the sun goes down, mosquitos wake up, so even tho there were a good bit of pest control product in the Chalet, bring extra stuff just in case. We hated to leave, and the kids were begging to come back.
This cottage was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed everything about it. It is well decorated without being cluttered. It was spotlessly clean. Everything about the check in and check out was simple. The private dock was so peaceful. We loved kayaking. The bikes look to be very nice, although we did not have a chance to use them. We hope to return in the future. Thank you!
LOVED the area and the property! It was far enough in the woods that it made us feel like we were truly away from it all! The lake was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks. Although it was cool weather, and we did not swim, my 3 year old grandson absolutely had a blast splashing in the water and throwing rocks. Water shoes advised since there are many rocks near shore. This was one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed and the house really was lovely!
The chalet was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The location was in a quiet location, but close to all the area attractions. The lake was beautiful and relaxing. I would higly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.
We had a wonderful trip away. This lake house is perfectly located and offers all the comforts of home!
We were given wrong access code. Took a bit to get correct code and get key. House was cute, very clean . Would definitely stay there again.
Very comfortable and clean. Loved being on the lake even though we didn’t get to enjoy the kayaks because of the wind the one day we had planned to stay put. Although we did swim in the lake and had fun. Having the washer and dryer was a big plus. TV reception wasn’t great and the cabin needs some updating cookware.
We had a great time on Carp/Paradise Lake and the chalet. Used the kayaks multiple times, loved the location. Had some great success fishing just off the dock. Enjoyed some needed family time. Thanks for a great property!
This property is beautiful. Spotless home. Brightly lit and nicely decorated. Amenities were excellent. Obvious care was taken to make sure we enjoyed our stay. My husband and I, two kids and my MIL and FIL had a wonderful stay. Great location! Close enough to enjoy adventure river rafting and day trip to Mackinaw Island. Lake Huron and Lake Michigan beaches. The more crowded areas. Remote enough to enjoy our own private dock, do some fishing and kayaking. kids also loved swimming in here at Carp Lake. Rocks instead of sand , but no problem with water shoes. We’ve done many beach vacations to SC over the years. However this spot quickly became a favorite because it was the right mix of fun and oh so relaxing. Enjoyed the serene sunrises and sunsets of Carp Lake.
We loved our anniversary getaway! This VRBO was exactly what we were looking for. The area is fairly secluded but right across the road from Paradise lake. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, birdwatching, and enjoying the spectacular sunsets from the pier. It is very short drive to the ferry to Mackinac Island...another highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this place. We hope to come back in the future.
Enjoyed being on the lake for amenities provided with a short drive to several other fun activities.
The property needs some overall deep cleaning, painting, and updating on the inside. The outside needs much attention. The dock area and cabana were nice, but the yard was neglected with sumac growing around the whole house. Being highly allergic to sumac, we had to vacate the property. With that said, Diane was very understanding and relocated us immediately. She checked on us and responded quickly if I needed anything.
The house was great and everything I expected it to be! The lake was beautiful and I enjoyed the quietness away from the hustle and bustle but still close to the town when needed.
We loved staying here with our kids for a five night family getaway. It was very clean and kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts and some dinners when we weren’t out and about. We have two kids ages 3 and 1, and put them in pack n plays in the main bedroom, while parents stayed in the loft so that we could enjoy the evenings in the living area but also so the kids wouldn’t be awoken by the light coming in from the tall windows. One bed in the loft was rock hard so something to be aware of. Other beds were comfortable. It was so close to everything, we enjoyed Mackinaw, St ignace and the island of course. The lake was super choppy when we were there and the water far too cold to swim but we were able to get the kayaks out one morning which was so fun for the kids. Great place, will stay again!
We loved this little gem, we wish we could have stayed longer! The lake access is perfection as are the amenities. Great location. Our young boys were in heaven on the kayaks and were sad they couldn’t stay longer.
Was a nice property staying on the water we towed a portable sauna and enjoyed the lake! Sauna Swimmed every night!
Everything as advertised. Great location on the lake but close to town.
We enjoyed the privacy of the location!
Very good
Quiet peaceful cabin
We completely enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again! Beautiful location!
We enjoyed having our kids up in the loft. We caught a few fish and had an overall great experience.
Rental place was clean and lovely. My family enjoyed the lake front for boating and fishing. It is near Mackinac City to see all the tourist sites, but also you can take a trip to Upper Peninsula and see Lake Superior .
