We are a multigenerational group, all physically active. All of us had a wonderful time. The three season house was very comfortable with a large kitchen ( not eat-in), a large stone fireplace in the common room, dining area, and an extensive screened wrap around porch that we used extensively for outside dining. We'd have our dinners @ the large dining table in the great room. Bedrooms were all comfortable and and beds were great. We loved the waterfront area with the deck and chairs extending onto the dock and the Adirondack chairs. We were in the water from sun up to sun down. We got the canoe and all of the kayaks out of the boathouse and used them every day for long trips and trips across the lake. Belgrade Lakes, its farmers' market, Day's market and the nature center were all within easy paddle across the lake. We made lots of trips. The wildlife was exceptional. We had 2 adult loons feeding its fledgling that paddled up and down the lake with multiple sighting, and a 15 member flock that we moved with in its midst on a local paddle. At the tip of our penninsula, there were 3 fledged eagles sitting in the pine trees waiting for their next meal that the bald eagles brought regularly. If you were out on the water with the loons, they sent out the alarm, loud and continuous when an eagle flew near by. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we fully enjoyed Birchrock.
Birchrock is well maintained and has all the comforts of home. We stayed in the early part of the season so nights were cool but the wood burning fireplace insert and the space heaters made it comfortable. I imagined kids swimming and enjoying all the outside and basement has to offer in the summer months. The location is beautiful, peaceful and worked well for our family as we attended Colby's graduation and made it into a vacation.
Birchrock was the perfect vacation spot for our extended family - six adults and five children ranging in age from 1-9. There was plenty of room to spread out house with an expansive lakefront porch, peaceful dock and picnic area and paved 'open air' basement the length of the house for the kids to run around and play. The house was stocked with whatever we needed and along with swimming and boating, there were plenty of games and activities to keep everyone busy. We watched the loons in the lake every day from the house and dock. Owners were eager to help and wanted to make sure we had a great time. We had a wonderful week and would recommend Birchrock to anyone!
Plenty of room ..property was well stocked Wished we could have spent more time there .. Hope to return
We had our whole family - grown kids, spouses, and grandchildren - here for a week. The dock area, swim float, kayaks, yard (with corn hole!), and toys, games and puzzles were perfect for us, from toddlers to adults. We enjoyed great biking and hiking in the area, fishing, good restaurants, and a couple of local stores for necessities... as well as not-so-necessary things like morning donuts and evening fudge :-) Kitchen is well-equipped, amazing porch, nice grill, propane mosquito trap, and plenty of seating, inside and out. If you want to rent a motor boat during your stay, be sure to book it well in advance...there was nothing available anywhere. If you have kids, bring a battery-operated baby monitor so you can be down at the dock when the kids are napping. Faces east...you get beautiful sunrises, but sun is pretty much off the dock by mid-late afternoon.
