Lake Michigan Cottage Retreat – Private Beach & Unforgettable Views

This house is in a great location-the access to the lake and beach were incredible. The beach’s very soft sand, no rocks. Beautiful sunset!! The house was perfect for what we needed! The house had a lot of items you would need-fully stocked kitchen with all the pots/pans/utensils you need.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It had great space for our family and the view was so nice. They had a nice mix of games which we enjoyed playing. We had our dog with us, she has anxiety and can be nervous in new places. But she settled quickly and really loved the large sliding door to watch the squirrels outside. We had a minor toilet issue during our stay, however the hosts were quickly responsive and a plumber was at the cottage within the hour. I was so grateful and impressed, we worried we'd have to end our stay early but it all worked out wonderfully. Walks on the beach were fantastic. They had all the amenities we could need. We would absolutely stay here again, we had a wonder time making lasting memories.

We had a great last minute weekend stay. The small cottage is lovely and as pictured. Very clean and well appointed. Great for the two of us and our dog. Neighbors are very close but we only saw one person the whole time, very quiet. Even with the snow we were able to get down to the beach and walk either way for ages. Beautiful views and sunsets everyday. We’d stay again. FYI for anyone with mobility issues there are 47 steps down the bluff to the beach. They appear to be newer and are spilt into 3 sections with a landing/lookout between each and sturdy handrails. It’s actually one of the shortest and best maintained staircases we’ve encountered at the various lake side houses we’ve rented. Thank you!

The place was very clean and smelled amazing upon entry. The location cannot be beat right on the beach. The host communicated quickly during our stay and was very helpful.

The place was impeccably clean, well appointed (kitchen ware, games, etc.) and as described. Wonderful view of the lake from the house, at least in the winter when we were there! So nice to be right on the beach.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this cottage. Easy walk down to a beautiful beach, and we loved the snowy beach walks with our dog! We had everything we needed, but rugs for inside the front and back doors would have been helpful, especially with the snowy weather. Very clean, kitchen was well-appointed, and the water views from the back windows were very nice.

Absolutely wonderful! Very welcoming, clean, and beautiful. The beach was easily accessible with a couple flights of stairs. Will definitely be back!

The setting is secluded and peaceful. The sight and sound of the waves crashing was so soothing. The night time sky was amazing. Everything was so clean and orderly and organized. First vacation with our dog and it was a very positive experience. Highly recommend brunch at the early owl, if venturing into town. We brought a large crate for when we left the house. Would love to visit again!

Perfect spot. Dog friendly which is a huge plus. Beach was as private as it gets, hardly any people and super clean. Picture perfect sunsets every night. Hard to find anything to complain about. Wish it was more affordable but what can you do.

Our stay at this Lake Michigan beach house was absolutely perfect. The house was sparkling clean from top to bottom, and it's clear the owners take great pride in its upkeep. The location couldn't be better—just a short walk down the stairs to the beach. We loved the beautiful sunsets and the peaceful atmosphere. Spent every day playing and waking miles on the beach and enjoying a warm fire making smores. We would definitely book again!

The accommodations were wonderful; the beach is literally your backyard. The house is quaint and was perfect for our family of four (and dog). There are a fair amount of stairs down to the beach, but are very well built. Free workout on the way up as well! Very clean beach, the lake is just beautiful. Make sure you go down to watch the sunsets! We only saw a couple of others on the beach so it was truly a pretty private experience. Highly recommended and would definitely book again!

What an amazing place- the beach is perfect, house is comfortable and adorable. We have been back two years now!

The location was perfect as well as the house! We enjoyed the cute little ice cream shop down the road. Lots of games for the kids and a bonfire overlooking Lake Michigan! Only “needs improvement” is the master bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it was fine!

This location is wonderful with convenient accommodations and a beautiful beach. This year the water was warmer and felt like heaven. We love to walk on the beach, have fires, and play in the water or just enjoy the peaceful views. We very much appreciate the host with ease of check in and preparation for our stay! Great location and the house is even better than the pictures! Ample room for 2 adults, 2 kids, and the family dog. Steps down to the beach are easy to navigate and made for great beach access for daytime fun and peaceful sunsets.

My family and I enjoyed the most beautiful weekend at this cottage! It was super clean and even had some nice board games and books that we enjoyed. The host was very responsive, kind, and helpful!

The cottage was clean and very well organized, with everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect! The beautiful sandy beach was right down the stairs! We enjoyed long walks on the beach and watching the sunset from the beach on warm days, or from the living room on cooler days!

My friends and I came to this sweet home to celebrate and send off our friend who is moving away. She was absolutely thrilled with this home as we’re the rest of us! The home was incredibly clean and welcoming, the beds were all comfortable, the view was AMAZING, the beach was quiet and clean, and the host was very responsive and so kind to my group! We were all wishing we could purchase up this home, or at the very least return someday with our own families to show them it’s charm! Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed a short spring break getaway. The cottage was perfect. Clean, easy to find, and such a nice location. The sunsets were spectacular. All the little extras… coffee, popcorn, candy, games, puzzles… made our stay extra special. The host had thought of everything. We will definitely return!

The cabin layout and size worked out great for our family of 6 (4 kids, ages 7 and under) to have a weekend getaway to take in the winter beauty of Lake Michigan and the surrounding area. It's a convenient location to the Luge Sports park (where we did some ice skating), other outdoor recreation, and Red Rooster (so easy for takeout). The cabin was super clean and set up nicely with everything we needed and offered great views of the lake. We enjoyed exploring the snowy beach, playing lots of board games, coloring, catching an icy sunset, and cozying up for a movie with popcorn and hot cocoa. We weren't quite ready to come home when it was time to leave!

My business partner and I rented the cottage for an overnight planning session and this was the perfect space. The view of the lake from the window was incredible. We even walked down the beach even though it was covered in snow. The cottage was very clean, beds were comfortable. We will stay here again if the need arises. We really enjoyed our time here!

Perfect spot for a winter weather getaway, very close to the Winter sports complex. 4 stars only because the mattresses are in need of a serious upgrade.

This space was exactly as described, and right on Lake Michigan. Everything in the home was clean, in great shape, and comfortable. There's a bit of a drop to the lake, but the stairs that seem to be newly installed are sturdy and easy. Internet speed was good and the outdoor space was wonderful. A bit secluded from the main road, which once you know the driveway, is very nice.

Loved the place. Extremely clean and well appointed. Everything worked well and there was ice made in the freezer. Something other places often forget to check. We stay in the often very often to visit our children from out of state and this was our favorite place to stay.

We could write a pamphlet on how terrific this place is and the hostess as well. You make your own list, it checks out at 100% for everything. We've rented a lot of places, mostly at the Jersey shore. This place ranks #1. The attention to detail in decorating, furnishing, kitchen, appliances, I could go on. It was absolutely incredible. Now, the beach access, once again, 100%. Steps to the beach were amazingly sturdy and safe and the chairs and fire pits provided was an added touch (it was 10 degrees and 30 mile winds which made for a brisk walk on the beach but we took a pass on the fire. What a way to spend our 40th anniversary.

Even though it was small, it was cozy and the view was beautiful. I highly recommend it and I would love to come back during the summer!

The cottage is so cute, fresh, and well-appointed. I haven't slept this well in a long time! Perfect place for a solo, contemplative retreat, but would be so much fun with a small family in summer. The beach is lovely.

This cottage was perfect for our stay. Beautiful place with great backyard, fire pit, beach access, loved spending time there as well as visiting nearby lighthouses, beaches and various towns in the area. We definitely are planning on returning!

Beautiful location on Lake Michigan. Walk the beach, enjoy a campfire on the beach or backyard, take advantage of a state or county park. Muskegon has great food, Grand Rapids is a wealth of options or drive north or south along the shore to experience towns big and small for more fun.

It's all about the beach! This house would be ideal for a family with small children. We had four adults and the bunkbeds were not ideal, but since we mostly spent all of our time outside, it wasn't that big of a deal. Really great location, beautiful beach, love that we could have a fire on the beach. Lots of seating. Love it.

Very nice property with a beautiful view

We enjoyed several beach days. The stairs to the beach are very stable and secure. It was only 15 minutes to an amazing theme park, Michigan s Adventure. My wife loved howany antique malls were within 20 minutes. Great property, great host. Will definitely considerconsiderbooking again.

The location is fantastic. We love how close the beach is for taking morning walks and just sitting by the lake during the day. It is a little brisk for swimming but some days it is possible. We had a beautiful sunset each night. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. Thank so much!
