Stanwood, Washington
Stay in your own private studio cottage on Lake Martha, a quiet lake (non-motorized or electric motor boats only). Summer swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, biking, and year round fishing. We are located 50 miles north of downtown Seattle, near Kayak Point county park and disc golf course, Warm Beach, Camano Island, Tulalip Casino and Seattle Premium Outlet Mall. Close to annual events such as the Tulip Festival, Port Susan Snow Goose & Birding Festival and Lights of Christmas.
A separate cozy 200 sq.ft. studio cottage with garden view. Lovingly decorated with modern solid maple furniture, super comfy Sleep Number bed with memory foam mattress topper, fluffy down alternative pillows & comforter and European duvet cover. Outfitted with a Keurig coffee maker, small fridge and microwave for your convenience and a small table & 2 chairs. Shower over bathtub, sink and toilet in bathroom. TV with free Netflix and Amazon Prime movies and a few books should you wish to read during your stay. A folding laptop desk is available by request. BBQ grill on cottage porch for guest's exclusive use. Our property is not wheelchair accessible.
You have your own private cottage with garden view. Full access to lake via private steps to lakefront lawn, fire pit, dock and lake.
PLEASE NOTE: Guest access to the lake area is reached via a private path with approximately 60 stairs to the lake without a hand rail (see photos). Please consider your physical fitness for the steep incline when you are making your reservation.
Guests are welcome to use our kayaks, canoe, and paddle boat (seasonal). Plenty of room to keep your bikes, canoe, paddle boards or kayaks on the premises! We love our guests and want to share our beautiful surroundings with you!
We respect each guest’s need for privacy, rest and relaxation, but we are available anytime for you. You can call or text us, or just come up to the main house and ring the doorbell!
We have two 120+ pound Giant Schnauzers, Luna and Stella. They were both rescued from deplorable living conditions. Luna is our social butterfly and loves to interact with our guests, but Stella is still in her social cocoon (she is scared of strangers). They may alert bark at first sight (that's their only "job") but they are friendly. They spend most of their days inside the main house with us, with a few potty breaks outside. During the summer months, we may take them down to our lakefront for some playtime and swim.
My partner, Jason, is a 2nd generation professional glassblower and is usually out in his studio working. Our guests are welcome to pop in to say “hi” and watch him crafting glass... If you are feeling adventurous, please let us know in advance and we can arrange for a one-on-one beginner glassblowing lesson for you with Jason (at a nominal fee). You will get to take home a piece YOU created! Or, for those less adventurous, you can order a custom piece and watch Jason make it for you!
Nice lakefront property with fabulous owner. Room was super clean. Slept well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfect for our needs. Loved the warm and comfortable bed, the coffee bar and the delicious donuts. Stephanie and Jason are excellent hosts. I wish we would of had more time to watch Jason at his craft!
We had a wonderful 20th anniversary weekend at the lake. Our stay was very peaceful and quiet. The cottage was very clean and cozy and we would definitely stay again:)
This Martha Lake cottage happened to be near the tail end of our 31-day road trip. It was so nice to just sit, rest, watch eagles, pretend to read, think about getting in the car but not really worried if we didn't. We were blessed with great weather, so sitting outside from coffee to cocktails was so nice. Dock? Fire pit? Gazebo? Sure - all of the above. Follow the sun, or the shade from the beautiful trees. Stephanie and Jason are super friendly, but also easily give you space. Even their neighbor is friendly! The studio cottage is comfortable as a nice place to quietly chill and take a nap. Bonus was meeting Stella and Luna. Thanks guys!
Great little cottage, perfect for a quiet peaceful place to rest. The lake access is very nice. The owners are great. It's especially cool watching the glass works studio
We stayed here for a few days on our honeymoon, we got in late the first night ( the hosts had emailed and said we could check in early, which was super nice!) We enjoyed a fresh breath of air down by the lake on the first morning, the cottage was beautiful, there was coffee , yogurt, and snacks. The hosts have put a lot of time and effort into making this the perfect cottage . We were not there long enough to go and do the glass blowing, but this is one we have saved and will be back. The yard was beautiful and the lake views were even more. The hosts even accommodated us and let us pet up their pup before we left on on next adventure, due to us missing our babies at home. Thank You for a wonderful stay and adding memories to our honeymoon. The Kelly's 3.25.23-3.27.23
Rented online for proximity to Stanwood and it was an excellent choice.
Stephanie and Jason are the loveliest of hosts and have thoughtfully designed every aspect of the property. The house is cozy and welcoming, complete with every amenity you can think of. I regret we couldn’t stay longer!
Stephanie and Jason provided a wonderfully cozy, comfortable space for me on my trip--I will definitely be back to enjoy the lake and cottage for an even longer spate! Sincerely nice people who provided an incredibly clean and comfortable space for me to enjoy. Everything was considered, from extra towels, face wipes, snacks, etc. Can't beat the very comfortable bed (I was spoiled for the remainder of my Washington trip) and consideration for every detail: the extra fan, the drying rack, etc. Stephanie, Jason, Luna & Stella--thank you so much for my very pleasant time on your homestead. I can't wait to visit it (and y'all) once again in the future. -- Best, Jaime
Property is nice and convenient with easy access to Stanwood and Camano island. Host were very nice and easy to communicate with. Place is comfortable for it size.
The cottage was exactly as pictured but no photo could do justice to Lake Martha. The view and waterfront amenities are amazing and the location of the cottage is perfectly located to be away from it all but still close to modern conveniences. Highly recommend taking the glass blowing class. Jason is a master and a wonderful instructor. We would definitely stay again!
The room was perfectly sized for the two of us. It actually was larger than I was expecting. I wish we had more time at the property. We had rain for the weekend, so we weren't able to make use of the lake amenities like I was hoping. Also, the wedding got in the way. It is perfect for a weekend get-away and the hosts were so amiable. If you are interested and have time, Jason's private glass blowing class was fabulous and the highlight of our trip. I hope to be back for another visit when we can enjoy the property without the family obligations of a wedding.
We had a great time at the lake cottage! Everything was just as pictured and described and we enjoyed swimming, kayaking and relaxing on the dock.
Very enjoyable.
Very clean, loved the stocked breakfast bar with snacks, coffee, tea and cocoa. Would love to stay again when it’s warmer and we could take advantage of going out on the kayaks or swimming!
