Lake Kezar exceeds expectations -- the views are magnificent, the water is warm in summer and crystal clear . This cabin-ey camp is a great no-frills way to enjoy it. It's tidy, and well-stocked with cooking equipment, row boats, a propane grill, life-vests, fishing poles, dish soap, etc. Ken Butler and his daughter were responsive communicators who got back to me when I had questions very quickly. The cabin is part of a condo-association of similar cabins -- all were once part of the Pleasant Point hotel, which is still in operation down the road by the lake. Two other condos share walls with Balsam B. There was no wifi at the camp, but we were able to get the hotel's wifi password and sit on their deck to check emails. We also didn't get Verizon cell service or data at the cabin but could make phone calls by walking up the road a bit. I'd recommend this place to anyone seeking a rustic vacation on a lake who is up for sleeping on a futon or in a loft, and washing dishes in a tub, camp-style. Foodies and beer hounds should definitely check out both Ebenezer's pub down the road, and Standard, a gastropub in Bridgton that is actually located inside of a gas station. Both were exquisite.
