Jolly Rooster Farm Cottage near famous Muri Beach

Really lovely friendly helpful people - and a great quiet peaceful place

Have stayed at a lot of hosted accommodations and this one would rate the highest for me and my partner. Stayed 15 days and our hosts were exceptional in their hospitality. We experienced beautiful local food provided by our hosts at breakfasts (loved the fresh coconut water) and a sharing of knowledge regarding local culture and spots to visit. Also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with other guests on shared breakfast days. Enjoyed the interaction with the farm animals and Lucky the cat. We were loaned a scooter from our hosts the last couple of days which we really appreciated. The accommodation is clean, the bed is comfortable, the tv has lots of viewing options and the wifi was really good. Loved sitting out on the deck dining alfresco looking up into the hills, or on hotter days using the shaded pergola.

Jo’s FarmStay was the perfect place for us during our one month trip to Raratonga. Our cottage had ample space, was very clean, and bright with a cheerful decor. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the colourful tropics abounded everywhere we looked from our large deck. Morning coffee from that deck was amazing. Odette and Joe were the by far one of the most knowledgeable and gracious couples we have met on our travels. They treat their guests like family and share all their entertaining stories and best recommendations of what to see and do on the Island. Don’t be surprised to be invited to a communal breakfast with these two hosting. Seasonal fresh fruit, coconut water from their property, still in the coconut, fresh breads and pastries, and that is just some of the breakfast goodies you will be enjoying. The location is peaceful yet still close to amenities. A local grocer is just a short walk up the road. Wonderful restaurants and ocean front resorts are just a walk, bike, or car ride away. We totally recommend a stay at Jo’s Farmstay. You will not be disappointed.

Our accomodations had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was clean, tidy and airy. It was lovely to relax on the deck and enjoy a nice cold or hot beverage with in it's beautiful manicured surroundings.. The breakfasts the host provided was absolutely delicious. The farm animals were also fun to watch. Theres also a semi inclosed bbq area which is great for entertaining your guest or used as another seating area to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this accomodations to anyone who enjoys the peaceful, spacious, farm style environment. The host live at the top of the property and are the most amazing, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people we've met. We had a fabulous time here that we plan to return. It's a 10/10 for these guys.

We had the BEST time! We were there for a couple's break, & as we live semi-rurally we wanted similar for our holiday & it couldn't have been better! This is a cute little farmstay cottage with all we needed onsite, or in walking distance, including a grocery store & a really nice burger joint. And due to the bus stop being close by, anything else was an easy bus ride to town. We walked to beautiful Muri Beach most days but if not in the mood for walking the bus ride's only 5 minutes. Hosts Joe & Odette were amazing! Friendly, welcoming & they couldn't do enough for us - they really made our holiday. Their local knowledge helped in finding the best things to do too. If wanting a farm stay style break away we'd highly recommend ?.

Joe's farm stay is a great alternative and great value for money for those not wanting a 'resort' experience. Only a 5 minute walk up to the main road, the cottages are well-appointed with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The surroundings are beautiful and Joe and Odette are incredibly hospitable and a fountain of information on local sights, activities, and culture. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Joe's and highly recommend it.
