Stayed May 18, 2019Overall, we had a really lovely stay in this charming little cottage. An update on some of the kitchen utensils would help and also the light fitting in the hallway was very low and both me and my partner banged our heads a dozen times when putting our boots on and off. Wood burner in sitting room is lovely and the aga was welcoming and practical in the kitchen. Parking is the only issue as we have a large 4x4. The opening to the parking space was exceptionally tight for us, even with wi gmirrirs in and we did scratch the side of the car on the coarse bushes overhanging the wall at the entrance. We ended up parking a few minutes walk away in the main car park.

Stayed Mar 13, 2019My husband, myself and dog had a lovely holiday here. Plenty of walks although can be tricky with a dog as it’s mostly fields and styles to lift your dog over them. Overall lovely and peaceful getaway.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our stay in Dent was quite special , Ivy Cottage being a delightful , warm and well equipped place to stay. The circular walk to Flintergill & Deepdale & back to Dent provided marvellous views over the surrounding contryside. The George & Dragon , just a few metres away , had a great choice of beers & ciders and the food was just fine & good value . A trip to Sizergh Castle was very enjoyable. The only thing that marred our stay was the complete lack of courtesy and consideration of the occupant of the adjacent Queens Cottage who blocked the access with his car.Trivial maybe, but nonetheless very irritating.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at Ivy Cottage over new year and had a wonderful time. The cottage is cosy and comfy and nights by the fire were wonderful and a great selection of DVDs and the lovely local real ale pub kept us occupied when our books were finished! The kitchen is really well equipped and cooking on the Aga we found surprisingly easy to get to grips with. The master bedroom is brilliantly spacious - in fact the proportions of the whole house felt lovely and roomy which, if we're honest, surprised us because you expect old cottages to be poky! Although it was went and windy outside, being the depths of December, walks around the nearby Windermere and other lakes were stunning - misty and magical. For foodies we'd recommend heading the 45 minutes (of lovely drive) to the village of Cartmel where some of the country's best coffee, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and Simon Rogan's 3 restaurants are nestled.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A beautiful and charming cottage in the heart of a historic hamlet in the Yorkshire Dales. Open fire, warming Aga in the kitchen. Safe garden for the kids to play in. Just lovely.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family had a lovely, relaxing mini break at Ivy cottage in January. We made the most of our three days there and really felt like we'd had a break from it all! One day we walked out from the cottage and climbed the local hill - Flinter Gill, in the crisp sunshine. From the top we had stunning views and really enjoyed coming back to the warm cottage, building a fire and cooking on the aga. We spent the next day exploring the village, walking down by the river and then headed to local kirkby lonsdale for a gentle stroll around the shops. Ivy Cottage is a perfect base from which to see a bit of Cumbria - ideally located with local walks, or interesting towns and villlages a short drive away. The cottage is stylish, beautifully finished and fantastically cosy. We especially loved all the little touches of detail - the colour-in poster for guests to leave comments, the well stocked bookcases, the vintage magazines, a utility room for washing off muddy boots... My daughter and her friend loved the bunk beds and the unicorn decoration in the children's room. I'd warmly recommend Ivy Cottage as a place for a romantic break or a relaxing family holiday. I can't wait to go back.
